Chapter 1886: Chapter 1886: None of Them Are Human
What exactly was going on, she would only know after having a look herself.
"Alright, I’ve taken it," she said.
...
"I almost died of fright, I almost died of fright."
After coming out of the Golden Pearl space, she went straight back to the backyard, patting her chest as she walked to her room.
"Sang’er, what’s wrong? Why do you look so pale?"
Sui Zimo had just returned from outside and, seeing Lin Caisang’s somewhat pale face, he immediately came forward to ask.
Hearing his voice, Lin Caisang stopped her pace and silently glanced at him sideways.
"I... I just took on a task..."
"Has there been another task on the Jade Mirror?" Sui Zimo raised an eyebrow asking.
Ever since they started cultivating their spirits, no tasks had surfaced from the Golden Pearl space and the Jade Mirror had been completely silent.
Had there now appeared a task to take?
"Yes."
Lin Caisang took a deep breath and nodded.
"There’s a high-level task that I’ve accepted, but..."
"What about it?" Sui Zimo asked her.
Was the task very challenging? Look at the state it had scared his little girl into.
"Don’t want to do it?"
"It’s not that I don’t want to do it," Lin Caisang shook her head.
"I’ve taken the task to heal the wife of the ruler of Haibo Kingdom, but that Haibo Kingdom...it’s not inhabited by humans."
She could never have imagined that she would be directly transported from the Golden Pearl space to this so-called Haibo Kingdom; inside, everyone was not human but Beast-Shaped People...
The Jade Mirror didn’t clarify that for her; if she had known, she wouldn’t have accepted the task.
But then again, there was no way of knowing in advance, and even if she had known that Haibo Kingdom was full of Beast-Shaped People, she would still have accepted the task.
Not for anything else but because this Haibo Kingdom was located on the Illusion Continent; this time, they wouldn’t need to go through White Blind Mountain and could directly reach the Illusion Continent, even if it was just a temporary trip. But that alone was enough for them to get a preliminary understanding of the so-called Illusion Continent.
"Not human? Then what are they?"
Sui Zimo wrapped his arms around her, patting her back gently and comforting her without a word.
"Beast-Shaped People."
Lin Caisang pouted; now, whenever she closed her eyes, she felt as though countless Beast-Shaped People with long fur stood in front of her, talking to her.
She had never encountered such a situation before; it was truly terrifying.
"The so-called Haibo Kingdom is a Beast Kingdom on the Illusion Continent, filled with demons, many of which can speak human language," she explained.
"Don’t worry, I’m here; I’ll go with you," Sui Zimo reassured her.
"Brother Molian, aren’t you surprised? I’ve gotten a task on the Illusion Continent," Lin Caisang asked him when she heard his tone contain no surprise at all.
The task she’d received belonged to the Illusion Continent, something previously unthinkable for them, and now they could reach the Illusion Continent without any effort.
"Isn’t this what we expected?"
Sui Zimo wasn’t so surprised; with his Sang’er being so capable, it was only natural for her to receive a healing task on the Illusion Continent. It would have been more surprising if she hadn’t.
"But our wedding is tomorrow; are you sure you want to make the trip to Haibo Kingdom today?" he asked.
"This..."
Lin Caisang looked troubled.
"Let’s go after a few days; the wedding is the most important thing, and it can’t be delayed."
Sui Zimo saw her hesitation and chuckled softly.
"Or perhaps we can have a look today, just get a preliminary understanding of the ruler’s wife’s condition. In a few days when we actually go, we can treat her more effectively, right?"
