Chapter 1709: Chapter 1709: Just Like That
"What are these?"
As the bundle was opened, revealing the extraordinary items inside, Lin Caisang looked toward Sui Zimo.
Of course, Sui Zimo could only shake his head, for he did not know what they were either. He could understand the small garments, having worn them in his childhood.
But the other items seemed meant to be worn on the body.
Still, it was indeed a lot for just a child. Wouldn’t wearing so many items be too much for a child’s body?
"Prince, I heard from someone in the palace that the Emperor is looking for a jade pendant," Zhen Wu said.
"Jade pendant?"
Lin Caisang casually picked up a jade pendant to examine it carefully before her eyes.
"Could this be the jade pendant then?"
"Mmm."
Sui Zimo made a sound to indicate his agreement with her.
"It looks quite ordinary; I wonder what secrets it holds."
He said.
"May I keep it safe for now?" Lin Caisang looked up and asked him.
Although these items had already been taken from the palace, she felt they were not very secure in Prince Mo’s Mansion. It would be better to keep them in the pearl space.
"Okay."
Sui Zimo nodded.
"You keep it safe. I need to meet the cloaked man now," he said.
Then, he looked at Lin Caisang.
"Are you coming?"
Although Lin Caisang really wanted to go, after thinking it over, she shook her head.
"You go ahead; I’ll head back first."
She had been trapped inside for twenty days, and though well-fed and comfortable, it was natural to worry about her family. She had to check on them first.
"Alright, then you go ahead."
...
Ya Village.
Lin Caisang did not concern herself with what had happened to the pearl space after the changes; she went straight back to the Lin Family.
However, upon seeing those two people at home who should not have been there, she paused, stunned.
"Mother, Brother Changfeng, when did you come back?"
She quickly went over and asked.
"We’ve been here for several days now, Sangsang, you’ve lost weight," the Elder Princess said with a heartache as she looked at her daughter.
Lin Caisang: "..."
There’s a kind of thinness mothers perceive when they think their children have lost weight.
But how could she really be thin? She had been well-fed and cared for in the pearl space; how could she have possibly lost weight?
"Mother, I haven’t lost weight; maybe it’s just that you’ve missed me,"
She said with a smile.
"You,"
The Elder Princess lifted her hand and gently tapped her daughter’s nose, her eyes filled with indulgence.
"Brother Changfeng, you’ve finished your exams; how do you think you did?" Lin Caisang turned to ask Lin Changfeng.
"It was alright, I barely made it through,"
Lin Changfeng said.
"Barely making it is good enough,"
Lin Caisang smiled, not really worried about it.
"Sangsang, where have you been this time? Grandma was worried about you,"
Lu Qiubo heard his granddaughter’s voice and came in from outside the courtyard, setting down his bamboo basket before coming over to ask.
"Grandma, I’m fine. I just went to the county to check on our shop. I haven’t been there for a long time, and I need to occasionally make time to sit there, so the workers don’t slack off,"
Lin Caisang said with a smile, explaining.
This was an excuse she had thought through beforehand; it was more convincing than saying she had been gathering herbs in the mountains.
"Weren’t you with Molian?" Lu Qiubo asked.
He had thought his granddaughter was with Molian, which had reassured him.
It turned out that the two hadn’t been together. Sangsang had gone to the shop in the county alone.
