Chapter 1647: Chapter 1647 Everyone’s Going to Suffer
"A ball?"
Lin Caisang looked at the little guy and raised an eyebrow.
"Kid, do you know where Huzi got the ball from?"
she asked.
"I know."
The little guy nodded and pointed in a direction.
"It’s right there in the hole of the tree at the temple. He crawled in and took the ball out."
"Oh dear, how could this happen!"
Hearing her son’s words, the woman exclaimed suddenly, her face turning ashen.
And the man’s face, at this moment, was even uglier than the woman’s, even the siblings’ complexions were unsightly.
"Is the temple very important?"
Seeing their faces, Lin Caisang spoke up and asked.
"Miss, you may not know, but people in our county worship the deities in that temple," the woman explained to her.
What to do, what to do, that Huzi really can do anything! How could such a young child go to the temple? And even dare to climb the divine tree and enter its sacred hole, which is the most important in our county? Who would dare to defile it?
"That Huzi, really... I don’t know how his parents teach him!"
"Hold your tongue for a moment."
The man, despite his ugly expression, still shook his head at his wife.
"Sigh."
The woman let out a heavy sigh.
"What’s wrong? Can’t we talk about Huzi’s family?" Lin Caisang asked.
"Miss, it’s not that we can’t talk about them, but..."
The sister glanced at Sui Zimo, then at Lin Caisang, her face growing even more upset.
"Remember when I mentioned that people were killed by hailstorms in our county? Among them was a member of Huzi’s family. His grandfather was killed by the hail.
And at home, his grandfather was the one who pampered him the most. Whatever he wanted, his grandfather would indulge. Even if his parents wanted to discipline him properly, they couldn’t; they would even be scolded and beaten by his grandfather."
Lin Caisang: "..."
To think there’s such a situation, no matter how much you spoil a grandson, you shouldn’t spoil him to be so wilful and lawless, right?
But then again, oftentimes such people are the norm.
"It must have been Huzi and his friends."
The woman gritted her teeth and spoke with certainty to Lin Caisang and the others.
Then, she turned her head to look at her own son and asked further.
"Shan’er, tell Mom, other than Huzi, who else did you see playing with that red ball?" she asked.
"Let me think."
Shan’er, questioned by his mother, lowered his head and started to think carefully.
"There were Mingzi and his brothers, Sister Baige, Yuer, and Little Bai’er. It was just a few of them."
And as they listened to Shan’er, the couple’s faces grew even darker, and the siblings looked equally distressed.
"It was indeed that red ball, it really was."
The woman murmured uncontrollably, looking as though she was about to cry.
"What are we going to do, what to do now? They’ve offended the sacred tree, everyone in the county will suffer, how do we handle this?"
Thinking that so many had been killed because of a few disobedient children, she truly felt like beating those children to death right then.
"Hmm?"
Lin Caisang raised an eyebrow, looking at the sister.
"Miss, a member of the family of each of those kids Shan’er just mentioned was killed by the hail," the sister said, her face the color of defeat as she explained to Lin Caisang.
She was on the verge of crying.
