Chapter 1542: Chapter 1542: Fortunately Discovered in Time!

"Elders, what exactly do you want? Six is still young; if you must kill someone, then kill me instead."

Lin Caisang: "..."

Why did they want to kill someone? It was broad daylight, and they were talking about murder as if it were nothing?

Isn’t that terrifying?

Sui Zimo: "..."

They clearly wanted to save someone, so why did it turn into talk of murder?

Did they have ’bad people’ written all over their faces?

"Elder, you are overthinking it."

He still had a cold expression on his face, glanced at the old chieftain, and then turned his gaze back to Six from the Demon Clan on the sacrificial altar.

"You..."

"Brother Molian, they’re here."

Before the old chieftain could finish, Lin Caisang interrupted him.

"Here, what’s here?"

He blinked and looked towards the altar, because Lin Caisang and Sui Zimo were not looking at them but were staring at the altar.

The next moment, he saw Sui Zimo’s sword fly from his hand, piercing straight at a wisp of dark energy, while Lin Caisang was no less committed, taking out the Wind Spirit Whip and striking towards that same dark energy.

"Hiss!"

Not just the old chieftain, but other members of the Demon Clan also gasped in shock.

They watched as the dark energy, after having consumed a little of Six’s blood, fled under the assault of Sui Zimo and Lin Caisang.

The sacrificial altar returned to calm, as if nothing had happened.

"Continue."

Lin Caisang swept her Wind Spirit Whip, pulling Six of the Demon Clan back and dropping him onto the other demons.

A few demons clumsily caught Six, then patted his face and called to him, trying to coax him back to consciousness, but Six seemed so frightened that he couldn’t snap out of it.

"Chieftain, what should we do? What’s wrong with Six?"

Seeing Six like this, they were anxious and their expressions even more so.

"Just keep him away from this sacrificial altar," said Sui Zimo indifferently to them.

"Oh, okay."

At this time, they were in no position to argue with Sui Zimo and Lin Caisang, so they nodded and quickly rushed away with Demon Clan’s Six like the wind.

"How could this be, why would it be like this?"

The old chieftain still hadn’t come to his senses; the sight of the black energy had left a deep imprint in his mind, impossible to shake off.

"How could..."

"Elder, you must know what that black energy was, right?" Lin Caisang asked the old chieftain.

"This..."

The old chieftain opened his mouth but couldn’t produce a complete sentence.

"You don’t need to speak now, let’s go back and talk about it," said Sui Zimo to him.

...

"Ah!"

Back in the courtyard, sitting heavily in a chair in the hall, the old chieftain sighed deeply.

He had never imagined that it would be that black energy which had harmed so many of his Demon Clan!

That black energy, though he had never truly seen it, he had heard of it. How could he not know?

Only, how did it come to the Human Clan and even within this sacrificial altar, treating their Demon Clan blood as a delicacy, feasting without cease!

At that thought, he shivered uncontrollably.

If that thing was allowed to satiate itself on Demon Clan blood, the consequences were unimaginable.

"Fortunately, it was discovered in time!"

Raising his hand, he patted his chest, the green tint on his face.
