Chapter 1356: Chapter 1356: Either Way, It’s Death
"Tsk."
Ya Enxi scoffed and turned her head to look at Beidou who had been standing there all this time.
"Brothers who grew up together? Ya Jinghong, are you joking with me? Given your relationship with your stepmother, do you think we really don’t know? Or do you believe that those people from town will come to save you?"
"You..."
As soon as Ya Jinghong heard Ya Enxi mention those people from the town, his face turned sour.
"How could you possibly know..."
"Ya Jinghong, shut up!"
Just as he was about to ask, Mother Ya interrupted him.
Startled, he immediately came to his senses, thinking to himself that he must deny everything, firmly believing that if he didn’t admit to anything, Ya Enxi and Beidou wouldn’t dare do anything to them.
If the people from the village vanished without a trace, his father would surely report to the officials, and the government would definitely investigate their disappearance.
If it eventually led back to Sui Zimo...
"If anything happens to us, the government won’t let you off. Ya Enxi, you’d best release us now; otherwise, just wait for the officials to come after you!"
He said to Ya Enxi.
Ya Enxi: "..."
She silently turned her head to look at Beidou.
Her gaze seemed to question what sort of situation their master was in to have hired such fools as subordinates.
At this point, they still expected the government to come and serve them justice?
Beidou also snorted lightly, finding it almost unbelievable.
Meanwhile, Mother Ya, having heard Ya Jinghong’s words, was simply infuriated, cursing herself for not having had the foresight to send her son to live with and watch over Ya Molian instead of relying on a fool like Ya Jinghong!
She blamed herself, thinking her son was of her own flesh and blood and not wanting him to get caught up in his grandmother’s schemes, becoming a subordinate under someone else’s command.
Only now did she shift her attention to Ya Jinghong, never expecting him to be such an imbecile!
Grinding her teeth, she glared at Ya Enxi and Beidou.
"What do you want to let us go?" she asked hatefully.
She should have realized that Sui Zimo had been watching them for a long time; otherwise, Ya Jinghong wouldn’t have been brought to them so shortly after he came looking for her and she had sent a message out.
"Just tell the truth, that’s all we ask. But do you really think we would let you go?" Beidou asked, smiling amiably at Mother Ya.
Let go?
They made it sound so easy, yet these people had been skulking around them, likely passing on information about their master.
And now they hoped to be set free?
"Since you refuse to let us go, and death is imminent either way, why should I tell you the truth?" Mother Ya retorted with a cold snort to Beidou.
"Tch."
Beidou clicked his tongue lightly, looking at Mother Ya with amusement.
"Really stubborn even in the face of death. But it’s dead either way, so maybe... Enxi, you think it’s quite lonely on the road to hell, right? Perhaps, we should send Ya Jingbai to scout the way for Aunt Ya first, what do you think?"
She turned to Ya Enxi and suggested softly.
Ya Jingbai was the son of Father Ya and Mother Ya, born after she arrived at Ya Village. He was only fifteen years old now.
"How dare you!"
Mother Ya was immediately frightened by Beidou’s words.
Her son was her life; if anything happened to him, she would have nothing left in the world, not even someone to carry on her
