Chapter 1270: Chapter 1270: Surrendered

It goes without saying that the people from Prince Yi’s Mansion had the audacity to place their men within his own residence.

However, Suyang chose to turn a blind eye, pretending he knew nothing about it.

"In that case, I will take the Fifth Young Master and leave," said Jiang Zuo, glancing at the little one fast asleep on the large bed in the room, as he addressed Suyang.

"Fine," Suyang nodded, watching Jiang Zuo leave with the Fifth Young Master in his arms.

"Steward Xin, arrange for someone to look after this young master," Suyang instructed the steward before leaving the room he seldom visited.

Following that, Steward Xin quickly gave instructions to the servants and then followed his master’s footsteps out.

"My lord, are you really going to let Prince Mo take the Fifth Young Master just like that?" Steward Xin asked.

"What else?" Suyang paused and retorted.

Considering the attitudes of the Emperor, Sui Zimo, Prince Yi, and Princess Consort Yi, this Fifth Young Master was clearly no ordinary child.

Such a child was like a hot potato — should one not toss it away quickly, instead of keeping it for the New Year’s celebration?

Wouldn’t he likely get burned to death by this particularly large hot potato before the New Year even arrived?

"What about the people outside? The Emperor’s men are still watching," Steward Xin asked.

"What can we say? I, the National Teacher, have never been fond of that child. What does his fate have to do with me? Tell them to stay alert. They’ve been in the National Teacher’s household for many years; they should know what can and cannot be said," Suyang warned him.

"Yes, my lord, I understand," Steward Xin replied upon hearing his master’s command.

He would proceed as if no one from Prince Mo’s Mansion had ever come, nor would he acknowledge any knowledge of the switch regarding the Fifth Young Master. That would be sufficient.

...

Inside Prince Mo’s Mansion.

The Fifth Young Master had already been there for two days.

From being unnervingly quiet when he first arrived, to now, Jiang Zuo and Zhen Wu, along with the others, had completely given in to the little rascal.

"Jiang Zuo, why don’t you give him a shot and knock him out?" Zhen Wu suggested, not caring that the person causing a ruckus was just a child.

Upon hearing this, Jiang Zuo just rolled his eyes at him.

"You think I don’t want to?" he retorted, glancing at the Fifth Young Master who had been fussing about wanting to go home all day and all night, feeling the urge to simply knock the child out cold.

No wonder Suyang had the child drugged into slumber when he brought him from the National Teacher’s household! This little tyke started screaming non-stop the moment he woke up — they were utterly at a loss.

"Or perhaps, we should seek Miss Lin for a solution?" he suggested.

The main issue was that they didn’t even know the true identity of the child. They couldn’t hit him, and scolding him only made him cry even more pitifully; they were truly at a loss.

But surely they couldn’t just give him a shot each time he acted up to knock him out, could they?

If they did, the little one would end up spending all twelve hours of the day lying in bed asleep, not even needing to eat.

"Terrible idea," Zhen Wu said, clearly unimpressed.

What did he think their mistress was? Someone specially assigned to pacify children for them?

If Prince Mo found out they couldn’t handle a child and had to turn to the mistress for help, he’d send them packing to the ends of the earth!

"If my idea is terrible, then what would you suggest?" Jiang Zuo challenged him.
