Chapter 1253: Chapter 1253: Not Treating This Disease?
"What are you looking at? Withdraw immediately!" Prince Yi barked at them for lingering.
Only then did the maidservants bow and retreat, leaving just four people in the courtyard, and the sudden quiet seemed even more profound.
"Princess Consort Yi, have you been troubled by dreams every night lately, unable to find peace?" Lin Caisang inquired.
"This... Yes!"
Princess Consort Yi wanted to deny it, but upon reflection, she affirmed it.
"Miss Lin, ever since Wu’er was taken away, the Princess Consort has not had a good rest," Prince Yi added.
However, hearing Prince Yi’s words, Lin Caisang let out a light chuckle, shook her head, and instead shifted her gaze onto Princess Consort Yi.
"Princess Consort, do you really think I believe that it’s because the child was taken to the National Teacher’s residence that you have been unable to sleep well each day?" she softly asked Princess Consort Yi.
"That..."
Princess Consort Yi didn’t know what to say and could only bite her pale lips.
"Princess Consort, you might as well tell me the truth. Otherwise, I’m afraid there is no medicine for your ailment," Lin Caisang told her.
"What?!"
Upon hearing Lin Caisang’s words, Prince Yi exclaimed in shock.
No medicine to cure it, how could it be this serious? Previous physicians had just said that the Princess Consort could recover without medicine if she managed to calm her mind. So why had it become incurable in Lin Caisang’s hands?
This female physician, she couldn’t possibly be a... quack, could she?
"Princess Consort, why hesitate any longer? What is there you cannot say? There are no outsiders here, speak to Miss Lin quickly," he hastily urged his wife.
If the female physician were a quack, that would naturally be impossible.
So the only possibility was that his Princess Consort hadn’t told them the whole truth, hiding secrets even he did not know of.
"I..."
Princess Consort Yi opened her mouth, glanced at Prince Yi with difficulty, and then looked toward Lin Caisang.
"Miss Lin, it’s not that I don’t want to speak. It’s just that there are some matters I don’t even know how to begin explaining," she said with a light sigh and a shake of her head.
"So, Princess Consort, does that mean you will not treat your illness?" asked Lin Caisang, raising an eyebrow and looking toward Sui Zimo. She then stood up.
"Uncle Prince Yi, if that’s the case, Prince Mo and Miss Lin will take their leave," Sui Zimo, catching her glance, also stood up and said to Prince Yi.
"No, no, Zimo, wait for me to persuade the Princess Consort; she will surely speak to Miss Lin," Prince Yi said when he saw them about to leave, trying to stop them.
But Sui Zimo wouldn’t give him the chance, blocking him with a direct retort.
"Then we can wait until Auntie Wang is willing to talk. Uncle, please inform us at Prince Mo’s Mansion when that time comes," he said, leading Lin Caisang away.
Prince Yi: "..."
As he watched Sui Zimo and Lin Caisang leave, he had the urge to order someone to detain them.
Unfortunately, he knew very well that detaining them was downright impossible. He was familiar with Sui Zimo’s martial arts—none of his household guards could match him, and that was not even considering adding Lin Caisang into the mix.
This young lady was proficient with poisons; one toss of her concoction and who would dare touch them?
"You, what can’t you say? Don’t wait until... by then, it really might be too late!"
Turning his head, he looked at his Princess Consort and said with a sigh.
