Chapter 1027: Chapter 1027: I’ll beat you to death!
"It was Yang Lin, wasn’t it? She didn’t want us to have it easy, so she had you come after us?"
"That damn wretch! I knew she was evil at heart; I should have strangled her the moment she was born!" Old Madam Yang burst into howling tears upon hearing her son’s words.
"Why is my fate so miserable, to be burdened with such a daughter? She leaves no way out for her own mother. That wretch, that damned bitch, that unfilial creature, she will surely not die a good death!"
"Shut up!"
Third Young Master Gong dug at his ear and barked angrily at Old Madam Yang.
"Your daughter is not in a position to order me around! Guard them well, bring the whole family to the county tomorrow. If one is missing, I will use your lives to pay off their debt of servitude!"
He ordered the hitters below.
"Yes, Third Master."
The hitters responded, watching as Third Young Master Gong left.
"How could this happen, how could this happen?"
Old Mr. Yang mumbled to himself, unable to believe that at his advanced age, he could fall into such a predicament.
Were they going to be kept watch over today, only to be dragged to the county tomorrow to be sold into servitude? How would they live their days after that?
"You beast, I’ll kill you!"
He looked at his son, who had just been lifted by Six, and without fear, charged at him.
But Six was not one to be trifled with; with a simple backhand push, he knocked Old Mr. Yang to the ground, then glared fiercely and flicked his knife.
"You itching for a beating? Behave for your master. Make another fuss, and I’ll give each of you a slash to keep you from moving!"
Old Mr. Yang opened his mouth to retaliate, but his fear was greater, and he remained silent, sitting on the ground without daring to get up, truly afraid that Six might actually make good on his threat.
...
The next day, Ya Molian took Lin Caisang out, saying they were going to the county to purchase some items.
"What did you do to the Yang family?"
In the carriage, Lin Caisang began, asking Ya Molian who was quiet beside her.
She had a feeling that the Yang family would not be having a good time, but as to the specifics, she didn’t know yet.
"You’ll know soon enough."
Ya Molian smiled, but didn’t tell her directly.
"The marriage between Zhou Liang and the county governor’s family will be settled today, and as for Zhou Yan..."
His eyes flashed fiercely, eager to see whether Elder Mr.Zhou had the fortune to establish a connection with him.
"What happened to her?" Lin Caisang asked.
She hadn’t really given much thought to that young girl.
"Elder Mr.Zhou will find her a ’suitably matched’ ’good’ family," Ya Molian said.
Lin Caisang naturally discerned the meaning in her Brother Molian’s words.
"She’s just a young girl; there’s no need to bother with her. But if she’s dealt with, then that’s that. It saves Elder Mr.Zhou from getting any sudden ideas and coming up with more schemes and strategies."
"Are you going soft?" Ya Molian asked her in return.
"No."
Lin Caisang shook her head.
She just saw that Zhou Yan herself was unwilling, having been trapped by her own grandfather, which she found somewhat pitiable.
But isn’t it true that like family, like door; if Elder Mr.Zhou personally harms his own granddaughter, who could be blamed for anything that happens afterward? She felt no pity.
