Chapter 1269: Chapter 36 Sigh, kill me

The End of the Tower.

The pristine white tower body collapses like butter sliced by a giant blade, its interior facing the wind and sand from the outside.

Crack...

In the faint sound, the stars in the sky dim, and the starlight gradually peels off from the dome.

Amidst the flickering stars, the proud figure on the throne is torn and stretched, becoming indistinct.

Finally, the goddess atop the tower, like a machine whose program was interrupted by an external force, jumps out of the preset commands. She slowly rises and descends the stairs step by step, her golden-green eyes looking down at the other "self", and asks in confusion;

"All phenomena have been gathered into my hands, the world is about to welcome a new birth.

I have bestowed a [Grace] and promised to lead you into the [Eternal].

Why refuse? Why resist?"

"Grace? How absurd!"

Altria glanced back at the world collapsing outside the tower and the two intertwining divine powers, clenching the sword hilt in her hand, she sarcastically replied,

"Tearing the sky, piercing the earth, slaughtering life, stripping the will of all things, turning the nation into your pasture, turning the people into your firewood, is this your grace? You are unworthy as a deity, let alone as a monarch!"

"Destruction is rebirth, only after breaking can there be establishment. What lies before us is merely an illusory prosperity. Whether it’s Britain’s civilization or Celtic tribes, they will all be consumed in this [Falsehood] and reborn in [Reality]. Then, led by me, they will step into eternity."

The goddess, crowned, spoke calmly, her emotions unshaken by the mockery.

"But on this path, you walk alone!" Altria scoffed disdainfully, "What is a [God] detached from [Humans]? What is a [King] without [People]?" "If your so-called [Divine Business], your alleged [Eternal] requires oppressing all existence and exploiting the weak, it can only be deemed [Evil Path], not [Divinity]!"

"Beyond understanding, beyond agreement..."

Goddess Danu shook her head, admitting frankly,

"The so-called divine path is to overrule from above, to force the weak. Therefore, I must gather all phenomena into my palm to forge the path ahead."

In her golden eyes, there was cold clarity reflecting another kind of truth.

What she follows is the law of nature, what she practices is the privilege of the mighty.

"Indeed, I cannot agree with your existence!"

Altria stood upright with her youthful back, with aversion, standing opposite this Origin Goddess.

She upholds human mercy, practicing the benevolence of a king.

These two figures on the black and white checkerboard floor, mirrored yet starkly contrasting in temperament.

Lofty and benevolent;

Cold and merciful;

Heavenly God and Human God;

King’s Way and Tyrant’s Way!

As if two mirrored images crossing time and space, each walking on two ideologically opposed paths.

Without turning back!

The eyes of the Origin Goddess moved slightly, seemingly understanding everything from that stubborn and tenacious gaze opposite her.

"If so, my other half, then prove with your so-called determination which is right and wrong. As a mark of respect, I will show you my divine business: the layer beneath the world, buried with cruelty and truth."

The cold proclamation echoed atop the ruined solitary tower.

The golden-green flames in Goddess Danu’s eyes flickered violently, her fingers grasping forward, gathering a dazzling divine light stream.

The towering structure beneath them began to disintegrate and collapse, with strands of light wrapped in dense runes, enfolding the last thread of power supporting the world’s order, condensing in her slender fingers to form the prototype of a Holy Lance.

"The End of the Tower, Time’s End, it is the Storm Anchor tearing the sky, connecting the earth, it is the Light Wedge standing at the world’s end — Holy Lance, withdraw anchor!"

Boom!

Accompanied by the goddess’s solemn chant, the sky filled with thunderbolts, stormy winds swept up lowering clouds, surging turbulent airflow into the glaring gaps atop the tower.

On the floating gravel, Altria’s thin garments fluttered loudly in the wind.

Before her was power sufficient to crush the world.

The attack had yet to be launched, and Altria, at the forefront, turned pale, her slender body struggling to breathe under the overwhelming divine will, the barely sustained divine barrier around her on the brink of shattering, as she herself swayed like a small boat in a vast sea, at risk of capsizing at any moment.

Although one entity, two facets.

Yet the human side is frail, how to contest against the deities who have stepped into the origin?

Just as Altria was on the verge of suffocation, vibrations of joy came from the scabbard in her left hand, stirring memories from a few days past in her mind:

"Altria, do you prefer the sword or the scabbard?"

"The sword, because it’s so sharp!"

"Have you forgotten why you fight? It’s so that one day you no longer need to draw the sword, and no more blood is shed. Therefore, the value of this scabbard surpasses the sword by several folds because it brings true peace. Take good care of it, carry it with you. The bearer of the King’s Sword’s scabbard shall never bleed!"

At the same time, an obscure and profound divine word surged into Altria’s mind, bringing her enlightenment.

"The hour of twilight has arrived, to the end, and to righteous defense — initiate!"

"It is — [Ideal Land], its name — [Avalon]!"

Accompanied by the solemn chant, time and space seemed to still, countless elvish scripts emerged from the scabbard in Altria’s hand, transforming into streams of golden-blue light, stabilizing the crumbling world around her, reconstructing a stable order.

Seeing the light barrier before her, rejecting all attacks, Goddess Danu couldn’t help but frown.
