Chapter 1247: Chapter 28: Offering Kidneys for My King’s Birth

Half an hour later, in the square.

A Holy Sword inscribed with Elven script slipped from the hand, its blade losing its gleam, shattering into pieces on the ground.

Staring at the spear blade poised at his throat, Bos opened his mouth to say something but ultimately could only admit his defeat, picking up the Broken Sword from the ground and shamefully exiting the arena.

Luo En observed silently from the outer circle.

Bos’s defeat seemed somewhat unjust.

His title is Guardian Knight, specializing in defense, while Gareth’s title is Soul Fighting Knight, specializing in offense.

The battle between the two should have been a spectacular contest of spear and shield.

However, Bos abandoned his strongest defense, opting instead to use the recently acquired Broken Sword to try and defeat Gareth directly, seeking Glory for his liege Lancelot.

This Broken Sword was something he unexpectedly obtained from the Spirit Tomb, later reforged by the Elves of Albion, restoring its original Divine Power, capable of fragmenting its blade into pieces to bypass the opponent’s defense and attack.

Bos was enamored with it, believing it a treasure bestowed by the heavens, frequently using it to challenge various experts.

However, to Luo En, this seemed a bit like putting the cart before the horse.

Bos’s forte is defense, but the sword’s characteristic is offense; the two do not align.

Unluckily, Gareth’s specialty is also offense, with an extreme style that forgoes defense to enhance offense fully.

Faced with such an opponent, Bos couldn’t avoid failure.

Of course, the root cause was still a lack of experience and an eager desire for victory.

From this, it is evident that the current Round Table Knights are still somewhat immature.

"Does anyone else want to come up?"

Having won the initial bout, Gareth stood proudly on the field, somewhat provocatively eyeing the Albion side.

"I will be your opponent."

Percival stepped into the arena, beginning the second round of combat against Gareth.

As the bell for battle tolled, both sides turned into blurs of light, charging at each other, their long spears clashing and forming powerful magic power shockwaves, grinding the marble tiles on the ground into layers.

The name Percival in Welsh inherently means "spear," and the long spear in his hand was meticulously crafted by Elves, a replica of the Legendary Holy Spear Lengominiad.

Although its power is far inferior to the fabled Vanguard Spear, Percival fully harnessed the potential of this Holy Spear through continuous integration and diligent practice.

Even though Gareth’s proficiency in spear skills is no less and his talent is top-notch, compared to Percival, he still lacks experience and composure.

In a short time, it may be hard to determine the winner, but once the battle extends, Percival is bound to be the ultimate victor.

And indeed, as Luo En anticipated.

After a grueling fight lasting two hours, Gareth’s full-on assault not only failed to take down Percival but left him gasping for breath, his movements becoming increasingly erratic.

Percival seized the opportunity to initiate a defensive counterattack, disarming Gareth of his long spear.

The contest was settled; Gareth raised his hands in frustration:

"I lost..."

"Your talent surpasses mine; in a few years, I might not be your match."

Percival extended a hand to pull Gareth up from the ground, proactively comforting this younger brother like a caring older sibling.

Holy Light Knight Percival, a person of pure virtue. Revered for his adherence to etiquette, honesty, trustworthiness, lack of suspicion or anger, and steady demeanor, he is also known as the pure and immaculate Fool Knight.

His strength among the Round Table Knights is not outstanding, but his amiable nature easily wins the affection of children and animals.

With his consolation, Gareth quickly dispelled his defeat’s gloom, cheerfully withdrawing from the arena.

In full view of everyone, he candidly approached Bos, conversing with the fellow eliminated brother about their experiences in defeat.

Watching the two whispering, a trace of satisfaction appeared in Luo En’s eyes.

Since the Round Table Knights need to move towards unification, the fewer internal conflicts, the better.

At this moment, Percival faced a new opponent—the Holy War Knight Gahorliss.

Yet, after merely a dozen exchanges, the outcome resulted in Gahorliss’s defeat.

His performance was even inferior to that of his brother Gareth.

He had no choice; his specialization lies in leading troops, not one-on-one combat.

"I shall witness your skills."

Accompanied by a low, cold voice, Aggrevain entered the stage.

Percival, who had won two consecutive matches, nodded in acknowledgment, maintaining his composed demeanor.

Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!

A black and a white figure intertwined, each clang of metal growing louder and more resonant, echoing across the square, causing the surrounding stones to tremble violently.

With a chilling cold gleam emanating from the spear blade in Aggrevain’s hand, like a venomous serpent, it continued striking fiercely at Percival’s vital spots—throat, eyes, abdomen, knee bones—like battling a deadly enemy.

Percival defended while seeking opportunities to counterattack.

Poof!

Soon, Percival’s spear blade cut through Aggrevain’s chest muscles, sending a swathe of upturned flesh rolling up and spilling scarlet blood at their feet.

Yet, Aggrevain seemed unfazed by pain, accelerating his aggressive assault at close range, with his spear blade becoming ever more incisive, forcing Percival to step back.

Five!

With a silent count in his mind, Aggrevain’s gaze moved past his opponent in front to the edge of the field behind, swinging his long spear once more with a mighty slash.
