The Golem Mage -
Chapter 695 - 695 Another Gordons 2
695: Another Gordons 2.
695: Another Gordons 2.
Alec looked up at the skies, sensing the Qi violently gathering there.
His eyes widened as he saw a spatial eye slowly forming, still in its infant stage, yet unmistakably a space gate was opening above them all in the skies.
Alec wasn’t the only one observing this phenomenon, many in the Royal Grand Arena had also noticed it, but most quickly shifted their gaze back to the stage where the intense fight was still underway as they didn’t even want to miss a second.
They seemed unconcerned about the space gates, knowing that attacks rarely happened within the palace grounds.
However, Alec frowned when he saw this, as he never would have imagined that the famous Peak Tier space gate that was always talked about was situated directly above the Royal Grand Arena.
In that moment, he began to question the wisdom of the Northern Kingdom’s king in insisting the finals be held here.
But Alec kept his thoughts to himself, as he lacked the authority to voice such concerns and had no desire to risk his life by speaking out of turn.
—
Soren, undeterred by his failed first strike, stepped forward with his sword, as the oppressive weight of the sands beneath his feet made his movements difficult, but he pressed on, closing the distance and swinging his blade at Brandon, who stood slightly shorter than him.
Before Soren’s sword could land, Brandon casually swung his saber, which was still sheathed.
The nonchalant nature of Brandon’s move irritated Soren, prompting him to pour more Qi into his attack.
Bang!
Despite Soren’s efforts to punish Brandon for his apparent laxness, his strike was easily deflected by Brandon, as Brandon continued this as he spun gracefully on the sandy ground, and as his back momentarily faced Soren’s chest, he drove the bottom of his sheathed saber which was coated in his Qi energy into Soren’s chest.
Bang!
A loud explosion echoed as the impact from the Qi that was ignited sent Soren flying into the swirling sand domain surrounding them.
The exchange between both of them had lasted only a moment, but Brandon’s display of skill left the spectators awestruck, it was evident that his effortless dominance wasn’t due solely to his weapon mastery, there was more to his strength than met the eye.
As Brandon’s cultivation aura was finally revealed after he made a move, and it became evident to everyone that he had reached the Mid Tier 5 Mage Realm, a small realm higher than Soren.
This realization caused many of the Bloodline Academy fans to feel despair, sensing that the match point was about to slip from their grasp.
[> Mid Tier Spell – Sand Coffin <]
Brandon swiftly clapped his hands together, even while holding his saber in his left hand, casting a restraining spell on Soren.
The sand on the ground swiftly started to rotate as it turned into a quicksand domain and the sands began dragging Soren deeper with every struggle, making him feel as if he was being pulled into an abyss of despair after he fell on his back.
“I can’t believe this!
We’re about to lose again to the War God Academy team, supposedly the weakest!
How are they suddenly pulling off these strange abilities in the final?” one of the spectators exclaimed.
This question is exactly what echoed in the minds of many mages, who were baffled by Brandon’s sudden rise to prominence.
As just days ago, he was an unknown figure, and now he stood in the limelight.
Only those in the first and second levels of the VIP section remained calm, attributing this sudden development to the master alchemist rumoured to be working with the War God Academy.
They reasoned that only cultivation pills could help mages advance so seamlessly and at a fast pace while maintaining a sturdy foundation.
And while observing both Arthur and Brandon, it was clear to them that the foundations of both boys were not only exceptionally stable but also showed potential for further advancement if they fully integrated the remaining medicinal residues within their bodies, which just confirmed their suspicions that they must have digested high quality cultivation pills.
This revelation made many of them in the second level cast a sharp, questioning gaze at the Dean of the War God Mage Academy.
Feeling the pressure of those piercing stares, the Dean dared not turn around to meet them.
As he could neither reveal Alec’s name nor engage in business with these individuals, and he was unwilling to further antagonize them.
“What do you know?
There’s no way Soren would be defeated that easily.
Brandon Gordons isn’t the only one holding back; Soren has been reserving his powers too,” one of the Bloodline Academy supporters confidently declared.
The person he was speaking to turned to face him, noticing that the speaker was wearing the Bloodline Academy uniform.
This revelation led him to believe the student might have insider information unknown to everyone else.
“Ahhhhh!”
[> Bloodline Transformation – Second Stage <]
The entire crowd heard Soren’s voice as he activated the same move Dragov had used in the third round.
The Bloodline technique immediately captured the attention of Bloodline Academy fans, who erupted into cheers.
Swoosh!
The sand that had been trying to bury Soren blasted outward as he stood tall, fully visible to everyone.
His transformation, however, was distinctly different from Dragov’s.
Unlike Dragov’s towering and intimidating second form his was much smaller, but Soren’s transformation had its own unique traits.
While Dragov’s azure dragon form remained a mystery that is unrecorded in any known text of the Dragonmir clan, Soren’s transformation was familiar to many Dragonmir clansmen.
His bloodline was linked to the fire dragon, evident in his body now covered entirely in red, blazing scales, his claws glowed a scorching red, as if a single swipe could unleash a tornado of flames.
His tail flicked around, the tip burning like a candle flame flickering in the wind, on his head, he bore a single horn on the right side, while the left remained empty, a clear indicator of the gap between his transformation and Dragov’s, despite using the same technique.
“Why don’t you unsheathe your blade now, while you still have the chance?” Soren said, his tone confident as he flaunted his newly unleashed High Tier 5 aura in Brandon’s face, as if the battle was already decided.
“as I won’t give you the opportunity to do so later.”
“Why do you talk so much?
It’s a drag,” Brandon replied to Soren, his tone laced with boredom.
His expression made it clear he wasn’t fazed by the powerful aura Soren was emitting.
“If you want me to draw my blade so badly, why don’t you come over here and make me?” Brandon taunted.
