Chapter 690: 10.08.4 Death of the enemy.
I had been connected to him, his memories, his knowledge, his experience. All of them forced a part of me to turn into him, and even if I had wretched that control back, regaining all that I lost and turning into something greater, he still existed, in a small part probably intending to bid his time.
But, I am better. I am more complete than him. My creation, my fantasy is all it took for him to lose his goals, leading him to leave my body and enter the world built as a haven for the weak-minded.
A perfect heaven that entertains one to eternity. Which became the end of Lakram. He left me, entering this heaven on his own will to pursue some friends he had long lost. The obsession he had in his youth, the desire for happiness, never went away. All was just masked away by his mischievousness. But when the layers came off, his true face was for all to see.
Still ever so innocent, playing with the mist of fantasy, lost in a world of his own. A world with so much wonder all built around his desires. The dream he can never grasp is for him to be lost.
"So Lakram, enjoy it all. The gift you gave me will come in handy." Most of the information was just jumbled information—chaos that would ruin my soul, so I sealed it at a moment’s notice, but there was a portion I could still see, a portion I could still understand, which made me somewhat understand why Lakram was hunted by his own brethren.
And why I would be hunted for soon enough.
Well, that’s the fun part, more so when I had recovered to such a proper state.
"Oh." But, the explanation was not so important as of now. I can feel the heat, the disaster approaching. Both seemed to hate each other, but for some odd reason, both seemed to hate me even more.
Such emotions, those desires, I can feel even while hiding inside this small domain. Outside was death.
I can hide here forever as those things will eventually tire out and either destroy each other or leave considering both might be a bit hard to kill.
But, I won’t do such a thing. Rationality is the game of those who desire stability. I desire no such thing. And besides, some introductions were necessary on my part.
A new Demon that will walk this earth, I needed a face, a voice to speak through.
*******
Outside, the once-called Abyss was no more, with the spatial distortions increasing due to the battle of two extremes. Even if they existed in entirely different dimensions, the impact of their battle spread through the canyon, causing ripples that destroyed the remaining demons that survived Light Bringer’s initial onslaught.
While for the mages that were far away? The moment the battle took intensity and at the very early stage of Light Bringer’s punishment, they had made some emergency escape. Leaving only two individuals in the valley.
Two individuals who had nothing to do with this godly battle, and everything to do with their own personal issues.
One came here to look for answers, an escape from being fodder in his own family, and to gain strength to fight off his father’s so-called sacrifices.
The other, was here for the same purpose, which was to kill the son who hoped to achieve a level of survival from his ordeal, his intentions never stopped at surviving, Wajih, the man who had lost everything intended to take a revenge so grand that even Jester would have never imagined.
So he walked, his eyes looking toward the lanky figure that appeared as a skinless tall dog, but Wajih understood this was the true state of the Third Son, the man he had been hunting for all this while.
"Found you... bastard." Wajih spoke as the space behind him collapsed, there was not even a sound before he along with this dog-like creature was thrown off and crashed into walls. "You ... why." Spoke the Third Son, his mind was already broken beyond repair. The things he witnessed here, the scenes he saw were imprinted in his mind and will torture him for days.
But he had endured it all in hopes of finding a way to gain greater power. And he was so close, so fucking close, but this dog, this bastard mercenary, he never stopped pursuing him. "You even now... You pursue me... for what?" At this point, even though his mind was muddled he felt so close to death. For the first time ever, The third son chose to ask a simple question.
What hatred was so great that this man would pursue him to the ends of the earth and to the very abyss. Why would someone do it and why him and not someone else? Was it he who did this?
"Your father killed my family." Was all that Wajih spoke, as a blood blade appeared in his arm, slowly turning more realized and metallic.
"My father killed your family?... Hahah... Just that?" The Third son of the Alahrun family...no, at this point he recalled another name. A name his mother gave him, which was nothing more than a simple. "Golu." A nickname that was all that was left in the Third Son’s mind at this point. Who after frustration shouted.
"That bastard of a man killed my mother, he killed my siblings just cuz they were weak, I am one of those sacrificial lambs, meant to die in place of my father due to the woman I was born under... he is my enemy too, I would kill him if I could." These were not cries for mercy, for Wajih’s face alone.
In a certain part of Golu’s mind, he already understood that the chances of his survival were next to none, and it was not even Wajih to blame for it, he was not smart enough to blind himself, even if he did, he would have regenerated it due to his bloodline. Making it so that his healing factor itself became the reason for the mental pollution.
Once the pressure dies down, it will be an eternity of torment. And no matter the strength he acquires today, none of it would be able to heal him.
And once he reached so close to death, even sacrificing his uncle, Golu suddenly accepted his own fate. He struggled as much as he could and had hence reached his limits. All that he had left to do was hate the fate of being born into such an accursed family.
A family that ate its own, a family that had so many of its branches because all were nothing more than fodders for the main family.
Such a heartless place.
Such a disastrous fate.
"I was meant to die... you see." He spoke to the blind man ahead before his head was stabbed. And then exploded under Wajih’s simple operation.
"Then don’t worry, I will kill him... and everyone else in your family," Wajih spoke, his voice a bit colder than usual.
And Golu accepting his fate smiled, a smile that Wajih couldn’t see, but he felt it. "You see... I don’t want my name to be forgotten... Remember me, Golu. That’s the name my mother gave me."
Wajih was a hateful guy, but even he held some respect for this man named Golu. People do bad things in desperation, he was a prime example of that. Which is why, after hearing this request, Wajih nodded.
And a nod is all took for Golu to explain. "Look into my uncle’s pockets, you will find a bead... you can use it to collapse the walls of sanctuaries that haven’t been opened at all... that will be my gift to you." With those words, Golu died, and his body started to wither at a rapid pace, all because Wajihi started to extract his blood.
"Nothing in that sanctuary will be more precious than your blood." Wajih’s body trembled, he had reached his limits, but he didn’t stop, he instinctively kept pushing his body to purify the blood and in turn recalled the past, where his father used to do the same.
’Bloodsmiths are no more.’ His family belonged to a particular hidden branch of blacksmith that has origins connected to the church of Craftsmanship. The only family that understood how to create the Blood artifacts that are treated as heirlooms and protection treasures of so many nobles in the Land of Azad.
And with their disappearance, even that art disappeared from the face of the earth, and the blood artifacts are treated closer to treasures among the nobility.
Of course, even if you hide, you will always leave a trail no matter what.
And those interested parties looking for artifacts of their own will come to you eventually.
That’s what happened with his father when the Alahrun family learned of their talents and came to seek some services.
And the result of it all?
Annihilation.
