Chapter 656: 10.02.4 A path of my own.

Much to my ignorance, Malidi had long been aware of the changes in the world, along with the arrival of a strong entity during such times. This was not surprising for him, although the majority of beings above legend have cleaned their hands of Brihma continent due to the ancient covenants, they didn’t mean to ever restrict such beings from ever entering such foreign lands.

Many times in the past, countless have entered, though only for a little, or else they anger the true owners of the continent. Malidi, being born on the continent, was pretty free of such covenants, and even if he was not, being a recently arisen Daemon with little to no allegiance to any party, he was completely free to act as he wished. Of course, that is if he can handle the owners of the land.

Though for now, being born on this land, he was pretty much free to act.

As for this individual that entered, someone whose strength seemed to rival gods? Well, their future will depend on the background they carry, but Malidi also knew that anyone with such strength ought to be somebody and that somebody wouldn’t be foolish to step foot in Brihma besides some serious backing.

This leaves only a few parties capable of this, and among those, the only ones with such showboating are none other than the Knights of Radiant Order.

’A troublesome one.’ Call it his sixth sense, or the small divination methods he had mastered through using Alabasta as the material for his ascension, he felt that this answer was the right one. And if it was the right one, then Malidi was in some trouble. ’Such strength is far from my reach as of now... I am blind on where to go next after this.’ Being the first to be one of the immortals, the path he took was a new and uncharted one.

He had to dig the path on his own while avoiding pitfalls, and it takes a time for that to happen, so in the coming future, Malidi’s strength will be limited to his state now, even if he does add few more broken domains into his own, his strength might not grow as much, only the burden on his body will increase.

That’s why he originally stole Dragon’s blood from Chalice. He wishes to strengthen his spiritual vessel by strengthening his physical one, hoping to elevate the levels of the Domain size he can master.

A path is far different from the ones others walk on.

"For now, it’s good to go silent for a while." He had stolen from the strongest enforcer of the Wine God and killed the people of some stronger parties, which even included the church of the Red Sun.

Oh, be the gods have mercy on him, as his future did look bleak at the moment. ’Just another one to fear... for now.’ Although this all meant his activity in the future would be suppressed to some extent, he didn’t mind going silent for a while.

Everyone should take a break from time to time, and this was the home of his old friend Heroth. That place, although visiting it only once, still had left him in awe. And considering that it won’t be long before that place is completely severed from the Material plane and might splitter off elsewhere, it might be his only chance to visit it and make it his home.

"Those men... he seemed to have caught a trace of you," Rosso explained, his eyes looking toward a specific direction. "I don’t fear curses," Farhad replied, and after a pause. "Nor do I fear his pursuit, his vitality was only so." Though the Vitality of a Knight can’t be taken as the true strength of a knight, it didn’t mean it didn’t matter. So in Farhad’s eyes, that man might be strong, but was no way near being a threat to him.

The only reason he ran away from him was due to attracting trouble to him.

"What if he brings a group to hunt you?"

"Then he will have to face the Cynark army." At those words, Rosso’s lips went mute for a little, he looked to the cat that was taking in the scenery of the real stars in the sky and then said to Farhad. "You think you can go back, just like that? Those knights that survived, won’t leave him alone. If you go into the open, the entire Radiant Order will come to hunt you down... as of now."

Alabasta was dead, and he was partly to blame for that death no matter how you put it. Which did make Farhad feel a bit tired. ’It’s been so long.’ He had even wondered about his mother, his strict sister, and the father he had complicated feelings about.

However, being on the run is still not an option for him. He didn’t wish... ah, it was so frustrating for him to think about. What side to pick, who to help, won’t it all feel a bit hypocritical of him to choose either of them?

It felt so chaotic, so thoughtless, leaving his mind to hurt all the time due to it. Why can’t he just pick a side, why does he have to play all sides?

Farhad actually knew the answer to it, due to his special situation, he sees all, he sees the folly of all the parties and their appeal, and he wants to help them all, but also never agrees with them completely. Which leaves him so conflicted all the time.

’I envy those that have one path to follow.’ To people like Rosso, it was simple. But for Farhad, this choice was his everything. "I... I don’t know."

"For one to carry my Creator’s memories, you are one fickle person," Rosso said, tired of this conversation. It was always tiresome to talk to someone like Farhad. "Do you know... you are not the only one conflicted, I had forgotten my past, but it doesn’t mean I mean that everything was forgotten. I somewhat remember one thing."

At those words, one of the eyes on Farhad’s back opened up and looked at Rosso. "I somewhat remember my tests, the fear of disappointing my mother... a mother whose face I can’t even recall at this point." He laughed for a bit. "I always wonder if this is the life she would have wanted of me... obviously not, I had seen other mothers on the outside, all of them want their children to have a peaceful life, away from conflict. Normal mothers that are... which was probably my mother."

"You fear you will disappoint her?" Farhad asked from the mouth he grew.

"I... I had already done so, now I can only make the best of it." Rosso was not of this world, but there was no reason to tell that to Farhad, nor did he intend to speak about Soros Bloodheart, the boy that lived in his body with barely any influence. Because to him, none of these mattered more than his mother.

"Best of it... you speak as if you have a goal in mind." Farhad recalled Rosso’s face originally when he learned that he would be stuck in the Cave of Wonderment forever. It did appear as someone with something to lose.

"Well I do... now that I succeeded in saving my Creator, I am free to do what I want.... Do you know I met this girl in Rudrain... if she is not dead, I might just try to court her." Rosso spoke with some embarrassment, recalling the girl he met through whom he obtained the face he wears currently. Hopefully, she survived the chaos in the city, otherwise it would be too pitiable to die like that.

And Farhad, listening to all of it felt a bit weird. ’Bizarre boy.’ With the death and chaos Rosso had caused, it would be weird for him to have such simple desires without an ounce of guilt. But that was the case with him, he acted like a teen imagining his simple future with a girl he didn’t even know if she was alive.

Bizarre, such people were really bizarre in Farhad’s eyes. ’But it’s also people like this that can move back to normalcy fast.’ This also made Farhad aware of one thing, He can’t take Rosso’s words seriously.

He was a man without guilt, Rosso can never fathom how Farhad feels, or what it means to be so conflicted. ’A lucky guy... but, it does give me a good idea.’

Farhad smiled, his mind already coming up with a simple answer. "Once we reach the continent, we should part away."

"Did you not listen to what I said before? You will die the moment you show your face."

"Don’t worry, I don’t intend to die. I won’t join back with the army... I will not join anyone." This was the right path in his eyes.

He chose to pick no side at this moment. He will make a side of his own.
