Chapter 642: 9.20.1 Jellyfish fights back.

The realm trembled, along with it the very veil in which it hid.

"What is going on?" Spoke the Jellyfish, appeared out of nowhere, and looked toward the domain where it had sent Remira not too long ago. "A demon?" It wondered, before shaking its head. The demons were capable of devouring domains, but they did it by devouring the very soul of their victims, hence turning into a part of themselves.

What for broken places like the one in front of the Jellyfish? Now they were another matter altogether, without the core, a demon would in a way sign a waiver for its death due to the very broken nature of such a place, making its immortal body attain certain limits.

Which caused the countless eyes of the Jellyfish to blink countless times before it stopped. "A path unseen. Can’t be allowed in here." With those words, one of its tentacles broke away from the void and flew toward the domain, and the closer it got, the larger the tentacle became, completely engulfing the domain of Affable seeker, a god that had long been hunted. ’Can’t be allowed.’ They were the programs in the Jellyfish minds, no being should exist within the domain like the Seeker’s, for the very destructive nature it held.

An action taken out of instinct, for the Jellyfish, might not have known or even understood the true origin of this domain, but something in its consciousness told it to snuff it out before it gets devoured.

But Malidi was not one to back down.

The moment he started to use his immense spirit to cover the whole domain, everything around him started to melt, from the destroyed land to the garden, slowly turning into liquid as they all floated toward him.

"What is going on? Farhad asked, looking at the very world around him being destroyed. While Rosso heard my words in his ears. "Stay, don’t move... hold your breath if possible, for it won’t be there in a few moments." He warned Farhad, who was unable to hear my voice, as for the Knights not too far from us along with Remira? Well, their fates are on them for now.

If they survive, good, if they don’t, I won’t be missing them if at all. Though from the memories, I also understood that this woman named Remira was far more special than it would seem, a being like the First Knight wouldn’t be stupid enough to let her die a pathetic death, now, would he?

Of course, he would be pushed to such an extent only when any harm comes to her, Which Malidi won’t do.

So the world decomposed along with the destroyed flower that won’t ever return back, the most they can do is be fertilizer for Malidi as he kept consuming bits and parts of it one by one.

Of course, with the Library gone, the scene inside was visible to all of us. There remained the dead bodies of dwarfs and their armors too were being digested bit by bit. Along with three living figures all of whom were in stark contrast with each other.

Though the fates of the two of them were already set in stone, nothing could affect it.

Or so I thought.

*boom with an explosive sound, that felt unnatural from the ongoing serene destruction that was taking place, a large continent appeared above our head enshrouded in darkness and causing the ripples to spread through this domain the moment it struck it.

"What is that?" I wondered, seeing the state of my fellow friends was not so good.

My enemy Vance was already shocked after seeing his Master’s sorry state, and now the attack of such a being left his mind devastated, causing him to finally lose consciousness like Remira before him. "Tch, his mind won’t be shattered."

Far into the sky, as Malidi was going to consume the domains of his two new friends, the attack that came out of nowhere did catch him off-guard for a bit. "Never expected to attract the attention of a Nightly Watcher," Malidi spoke, looking at the tentacle that had directly fractured a huge portion of the domain. "Going so far as to harm the only chance I have, I can’t allow that." He spoke with gleaming eyes while pointing toward the tentacle and speaking. "Karmic Sealing." With those words, the seeker’s domain in the Nightmare veil shone with faint light as chains born out of darkness crawled out of its membrane and then stabbed into the very tentacle that was attacking it.

Though no harm appeared at first, until the tentacle struck the surface again, this time, a change did occur, a fracture starting from the tip of the tentacle and reaching toward the main body.

Startling the Jellyfish which in a rush cut its limb away. "What is this?" Through its whole eternal life, this was the first time something had come close to harming it besides a god that is.

And even rarer was the fact that throughout its life, it rarely if ever was forced to break off a tentacle. ’Connecting the fates of two existence without consent.’ Fear appeared in its eyes as it wondered just what kind of demon was it dealing with.

But would that be enough to stop it? Well yes it did, it was a mere caretaker, not a fighter, so seeing that its effort would only bring it harm, the jellyfish slowly covered its head with its tentacles, turning into a ball and losing the soft luminosity on its body.

And with that rose the outcry of creatures that existed in the veil, each with grotesque shapes and mutations. With the fearful monster gone, they were free to act and consume the things that existed in the nightmare veil.

Specifically the ones with the most vitality and energy. One of which seemed to be specifically isolated from the Watcher’s power.

Causing these monsters to rush toward the domain.

"Blind yourself, for monsters are coming." Was the order I gave Rosso, who was still oblivious and suffered from the effects of witnessing the giant landmass that appeared. He probably wished to know what it was, but now was not the time, nor he was in luxury to speak a word for it, all Rosso did was blind himself with his will alone, causing his eyes to burst like balloons, which was witnessed by Farhad, currently covered in Dark flames in order to fight the corruption.

Though seeing Rosso’s action, he destroyed not only his eyes, but the majority of his senses while his body grew multiple fleshy flaps that dragged the body of Remira as well as Vance to it, followed by Rosso who didn’t know what was happening. "Don’t struggle.’ And with that, like a lotus flower, he covered his body in countless meat flaps along with the people he rescued.

Petals that carbonized not too soon later and then even grew diamonds over them.

This was Farhad’s cocoon mode, which he developed after learning more about the mutations in his body. It was a perfect defense mode in case he fell into places that were hard to survive in.

Though I remained outside, leaving Rosso’s body while he was dragged away was my choice alone. It’s not every day you witness the rise of a Future God.

Specifically one as special as Malidi.

But this time might be cut short if I don’t have a body to live in.

"Well, not like there aren’t any options here." I turned to look at the future bookboy of Malidi, smiling from eye to eye as I slowly covered his body with my soul and entered it without much struggle.

"You.. who are you?" He asked, noticing my arrival far faster than I had anticipated, well he was Legendary being on death’s door, so it wouldn’t be odd if he didn’t notice me. "A servant of his like you... just borrowing your eyes to witness the beauty that is soon to follow." And that beauty was the appearance of countless beasts of the end that tried to claw at the membrane of this reality.

Which finally caused Malidi to sweat somewhat.

Now, this is a weakness of Malidi, he might be a master at dealing with powerful beings that reached the level of Gods, but he suffered once the ants started to chip into his toenail. His spells and methods were far too focused in one direction leaving him open to crowd tactics like now.

Well, that would generally be the case, but not anymore considering he was in the process of digestion. "I had wished to learn more about you, a chance." He spoke, letting some of these beasts in, exposing their true nature.

Which was... well nothing. Born of dark mist, wherever their body touched it was destroyed in a matter of seconds. Their animalistic forms were sometimes visible and sometimes nothing more than dancing mist that rushed around the whole area in order to consume it.

But who is consuming who?
