Chapter 574: 9.06.1 The Wrath of Madness.
It was a surprise to meet my precious children at sea. However this meeting also meant that the world or fate still hadn’t given up on me, it wanted me to struggle, and it wanted me to show new plays that I never had a chance to conduct.
Which I was thankful for. It’s not every day that you feel blessed, and although this did bring me immense joy to finally see some faces I haven’t in a while, there was still some confusion in my mind concerning certain figures that might be zeroing in on me.
Troublesome, truly troublesome. However, I still need to deal with the matter at hand. "Master, it’s really you?" Owl asked, his guard up while looking toward the puppet I lived in, and before I could say a word of proof, the little one rushed past everyone and caught me in her arms. "Mini, this is not the time," I spoke, trying to calm her down, but she in her silence shook her hand and hugged me tightly.
’Hah, these children.’ There was no need to prove anything, the connection that I had established since their childhood had turned into an instinct of sorts for them. So even if that connection had been severed, the instinct in their mind still helped them identify who I was. Making the rest of them rush to me and am I ok and the rest.
Of course, this is no time for it. "Owl, Let’s enjoy a party later, for now, escape. The enemies will be coming for me, for all of us now." My mind was drifting as I spoke such words, the scene on the boat was vividly visible to me in the dream world including the little bastard that had been sleeping under the deck.
Which did make me curious about what kind of adventure my children had enjoyed, but now was not the time. I was happy as long as there was no mark on this Royal’s body, nor was there any of their royal insignia, those two things can be troublesome as they have the power to not only protect against mental intrusions but also track.
’Tracking, something that might be useful in our current state.’ So I asked after greeting everyone here. "Speak of it, did you obtain any insignia from the boy down below?" I asked Owl, though the one to answer was the oldest of the group, Gazelle, who with some pause spoke. "We have sealed it with some struggle, but we still have it."
"Good, things just got far easier." The enemies will probably be Grandmaster rank at the very least, and in the worst-case scenario that I am deemed important enough for a Legendary to be released, even then, this plan might just work to some extent.
Amir, this boy, I don’t know how our relationship was in the recent days or what had changed since I last met him, but one thing I was certain of, the Royals would do everything in their might to track this boy down.
And the strength they might deploy should be enough to handle the oncoming enemy.
Which is why, I took a bit of his blood and under the arrangements of Minat, created a false body that was dragged through the sea toward the very cave I had been hiding in.
All the while carrying the very Royal Badge that was proof of Amir’s identity, as well as the tool that protected him.
Of course, the physical protection spell on it was destroyed through some force unknown. Though I had already got some idea from the little bits of talks among my children from the side. ’That old man went berserk...’ Of course, can’t blame him. That was going to happen eventually. Though I never expected it all to unravel in the way it did from the looks of it.
"The boy Rosso, ignore him for now, drive toward the serpent." I left the vicinity of the cave in about ten minutes later.
Rosso, I don’t know who he was or what his strengths were to be considered so highly by my children, but I can see that he is probably one more of my backups that the current me is not aware of. Though the creed at which he operates, I can’t ascertain nor do I wish to destroy it. It’s better to let him run amok on his own.
Not to mention, the boy didn’t go and look for the source of my aura after the initial attraction, he seemed to have judged it to be a trap and chosen to drive past that area. Which is a good choice for someone in his position. ’Hopefully, you survive as well.’
With time, I learned a bit more about the world pretty easily after I had made sure there were no pursuers.
The children let me enter their minds easily, which gave me access to the detailed timeline of the events, including the true nature of this Rosso and the state of my precious Yethel in my absence.
Everything in this pot of memory was so.
So fucking wonderful. "I had been so bored." Since my awakening, rarely I had come across any true intelligence that could feed me such entertaining memories as stories. Almost makes me appreciate fate for giving me such a wonderful at my time of need.
And these memories also made me finally understand who Rosso might be. "So it’s Soros, seems like Vegal succeeded in rebuilding the boy." The plan had faced some trouble for a long time, it would seem that during my absence, there was a level of success, birthing another one of the Anomalies. ’So it will make it two under me, and the 2nd artificial anomaly to be born by my hands.’
I felt proud of that boy, hoping that no harm would come to him in the coming days. Ignoring that asshole friend of mine that keeps running away from me, I would have two of the anomalies under me, one born of natural causes, although her existence itself is unnatural. While the other is this boy named Rosso.
Sadly, I can’t employ her, not for now at least.
Though considering the current situation, it won’t be long before I can bring her to the world for real.
"Hmm." Though as I was living in a fantasy of my own, something trembled.
’Ho.’ It was my mind that suffered the hit first, and not because there was an attack on the outside world. No.
The reason was simple.
’An angel...’ far in my perception, I saw it clearly. A figure in the dream world, its body overlapping in multiple planes of existence all at once though the most impact I felt was from the dream one which did break my mind a bit.
’Hah Joyful Madness, I would appreciate it if you looked down on me a bit.’ This was an overkill, a complete and utter overkill on that bastard’s end.
Angels are known as the servants of gods, the divine beings that carry a God’s will and execute the command of the god they follow. But in a general sense, there are two types of angels in the world.
The lesser Angels are generally totems that chose to go under a God and then there were the true Angels, that were born of the aspects of the God itself. And due to the fact how close they are to the one they serve, a true Angel might far surpass that of a normal lesser Angel.
’This is full-on cheating.’
The moment I felt it, it noticed me, and I could see that without any trouble, it appeared above the sky where I was basking in the sun.
Of course, only I remain aware of its existence, the rest, they were too weak to even sense such a strong existence.
"You, which one are you?"
"Silence MORTAL." With those words, the world started to melt around me. And under my face full of pity, the same was the case for my children. "Anger... A voice alone caused me to see such illusions." The surrounding scene tried to turn me angry, but that alone became the answer I had been looking for.
"Wrath is it?" I asked, not even a little affected by such simple tricks.
As for the thing that appeared in the form of a little girl, she was not the least bit surprised by my reaction. Well, why should she? It’s not like she did anything, it’s just her voice that is wrath-inducing.
"Wrath I am. And you will serve my master." With those words, she made a fist with her small hands, causing my body to separate from the doll and then burn under the sunlight. But even while watching me struggle in pain, she didn’t hurry up at all. To her, it seemed my pain was joy enough.
’Sadist.’ Well, her name was Wrath, but she obviously didn’t appear prone to anger, no, she was far calmer in her actions.
She harmed none around me, none of my children were actually harmed, not like they can perceive the existence like her, which did free them of her influence. Sometimes, being weak is strength.
Of course, the real Wrath wouldn’t have been so weak, the real Wrath would have ended all the lives here. But it’s a Wrath being influenced by the body of a little girl. Her emotions are pretty much the same and her ignorance might be the same as well. "Wrath, have you ever seen a serpent with wings?"
