Chapter 564: 9.03.4 Tee-hee.
He can never forget the time he talked with Gazelle. Although he was an adult at that point, Amir believed that their little debates were monumental to his growth.
She taught him about a feeling which had no place in his heart.
Although his desires were exposed to his Grandfather, who also taught him a lot more about the importance of his blood and why there would be many like Gazelle, Amir never stopped wanting to meet her.
Such desires were unbecoming of a Prince, they were unbecoming of someone with so much responsibility. But Amir still kept holding onto that desire close to his heart, hoping that one day he would meet her again. ’Was it lust... or greed over something that will never happen?’ He looked at the woman wearing a false face.
He wanted to rip it away and see what she actually looked like, to talk to her more. But Amir knew that was impossible in this world. Both of them were from enemy factions.
In his eyes, he knew she was wrong. She worked for the devil itself, a crazy devil that has spread misery far and wide. And if someone can choose to work for that devil while knowing all of this, then the person is a devil incarnate.
’I truly am human.’ Even while saying such words, Amir didn’t stop his attacks.
The human emotions in his heart were screaming at him to reconsider his choice, they shouted at him to keep his hand. And Amir really wished to do that, he wished to stop. But the reasoning told him otherwise.
The moment they took the life of one of his knights, a reasonable conclusion to this whole conflict was impossible. The only thing left was utter destruction of the other party.
Boom.
And just like that, Amir struck, his armored arm leaked some blood, turning into a claw before striking at Gazelle who intended to stop him from killing Owl.
Of course, all he actually hit was some mist that rose from the water. "You are far crueler than I remember." She spoke again with a new figure that kept pace with Amir, who was still intent on capturing Owl.
"That was a false image, I should have expected at least that much." There was a hint of relief in Amir’s words, he really didn’t wish to end her, but if she came his way, he wouldn’t have any choice. "You attacked me while being fooled. You are not as foolish as you used to be." It was her attempt at distraction. Her attempt at making Amir slow down.
Of course, all of her attempts fell on deaf ears, if Rosso is to be released here, then only death and destruction will remain. He needs to do it, he needs to stop these people from burning the seals.
Which is why, the desperation and lethality in his attacks kept increasing. As expected, he really got super close to Owl while readying his attack that would cut the little sticky stuff dragging his body all over the sea. But before he can do so. Another phantom of Gazelle appeared in between him.
Which he easily dealt with faster than usual.
Or so he thought.
*drip.
Blood dripped as even with the magical defense artifacts that Gazelle wore, there was a claw mark going from her shoulder to her chest, causing massive bleeding. "NOOO!" Shouted Owl. Appearing confused. "Why did you come out in the open..." There was anger in his voice, and with that anger was hatred.
Hatred toward the prince to whom he had already shown enough kindness. "You bastard."
"Minat, take Owl away... don’t let him do anything stupid," Gazelle spoke as blood flowed out of her mouth, while Amir.
He stopped.
Speechless at the moment, Amir looked toward the injury, and then for some reason, his hand shivered.
’Fear.’ He felt fear for some reason. And it was not the fear of death, but the fear over what he had done. ’No... I already intended to end her before.’ he spoke to himself, but suddenly found something wrong in his heart.’
It was guilt. Guilt for what he has done which made him pause before he looked towards the echoing shouts of an angered man, before his eyes fell on Gazelle again. "If not him, then you will do," Amir spoke, discarding his thoughts before rushing towards her to capture her. Though at the back of his hand, who knew when, but a potion had appeared.
The hostage he needed shouldn’t die, otherwise, there wouldn’t be a point to all of this.
"You truly are a foolish human." And Gazelle noticed the potion bottle, before falling towards the sea as the injury was too much for her body to handle.
It was at this time that Amir came and hurriedly poured the potion over Gazelle and shouted. "I have one of you hostage, keep maintaining the seals or she dies." It was an echoing shout that even stopped the battle between Hemant and Scart, with Scart showing an even crazier look as he heard what Amir had just done.
"You bastard!!" And in anger, the surrounding things started to change. But before they could, a sticking thing shot through the seawater and then dragged Scart into the sea before he could do anything stupid.
While Hemant, seeing that his Master has succeeded, turned his head toward the coffin. ’It’s still not stopped?" Ignoring Scart that had disappeared at this point. Hemant shouted. "LORD! They haven’t stopped."
Amir hearing these words rushed to the site while ordering Hemant to move away. Of course, he refused. However, now was not the time to argue. "Do you wish to see her dead? Or worse? The best in the coffin won’t spare anyone, including this woman." He spoke these words in hopes the opponent would stop. But none of such things happened. ’Few seconds left.’
"Death it is then," Amir spoke up before taking out a small cross necklace from his pocket. "Sir?" Which did confuse Hemant, but Amir didn’t speak a word and got ready.
Generally, the best thing to do in this situation is to escape far from the coffin. As for where to escape? There was an Armada of ships heading his way and most if not all the surviving Knights were rushing to that position.
But Amir also knew that this escape meant nothing considering the things the Soros was capable of. Their escape will just bring death upon all those on the ship who can’t fight back against the infection or the curse. It’s a certain death sentence for them.
It’s truly foolish for them to come so close at this point. But what is done is done. If he can’t stop the puppets of Jester from releasing this monster, then all Amir can do is end it before he causes any harm.
This is where the cross comes into play.
"Life Baan." It truly was pronounced as such.
Life Baan, among the Royal family archives, Life Bann is designated as a Tier 0 tainted relic of some unknown origin. It was one of the most important tools among the Royal Family capable of one single purpose.
It sealed a singular life in place. And it was not a simple sealing, it sealed their body, their senses, their mind, and even their time in a place without restriction, including Totems.
Of course, the one in Rosso’s hand was just a relic formed by accumulating the aura from the actual took and concentrating it inside a small medallion made with expensive materials. But it didn’t diminish its strength in the slightest.
And this tool can be considered to be broken with these features alone, sadly, once’s sealed, nothing can move that figure from where they were sealed even if you take away the ground beneath its feet. They will be frozen in space, unable to be harmed nor capable of causing any harm.
Such was the weakness of this tainted relic. "Lord, you know the danger of using it."
"We have to, too many lives are at stake." Amir got ready, as the paper burned along with the thick rope that bound the coffin, he was ready to activate the Relic and suffer the consequences for using it.
But after the sealing was undone, nothing ended up happening.
"??" And though Amir chose to wait for a bit more, making sure that he wouldn’t be ambushed like last time, when nothing happened again, while with Gazelle in one of his arms, he threw an arm blade made of aura toward the coffin, busting it open as the metal burst open exposing that there was nothing inside.
And as if on cue, the moment the realization struck his mind, the figure in his other arm started to turn melty almost?
"No.." And by the time his eyes had fallen on Gazelle, all there remained was a sticky slime flowing out of his hand.
Though among the shiny reflective surface of the slime, he seemed to see a figure, a face he had never seen before, a face that seemed to be saying. "Sorry... but my real face can be apology enough."
