Chapter 555: 9.01.2 Now you can see me.

Malidi was a social outcast. Going by his speech alone, one might assume he suffered some development disorder of sorts, his speech was all over the place and somewhat childish.

Of course, those who consider him foolish for his speech will be in for a rude awakening once they see and learn what he is capable of. "The wood has turned rotten under this salty air, I should find a proper puppet maker for some repair."

The threads and joints that kept my puppet body together might be made of high-quality materials, but with age, they will degenerate as well. This is why it took some time for me to get this body together and find the magic circle that would help me contact that man.

Going to Pulgasiri to look for the Cave of Wonderment might be easier, but my current body lacked the details of the specific coordinates. Not to mention, my weak and feeble body would probably break if it were to travel so far using the birds and fish.

It might take months, or who knows, a year if something bad happens in between, which will result in my certain death.

And I am not talking about this derivative soul of mine.

With the speed at which my other derivatives were forming up their own personalities, while my core was turned into a fool, it won’t be long before a perfect Clone of mine is born that is completely subservient to Lord Emotion, who might then feed my core to it, resulting in a death and rebirth of the kind that I would so hate.

But enough about what might happen. The first thing I did after reaching the magic circle was to remove the dirt and mold on it, using some materials kept in the corner of the cave, I restored the broken parts of the circle, before taking out certain materials, along with a lock of hair.

The most precious item in my inventory, this lock of hair belonged to Malidi and helped me contact him during my time of need.

So, although it might look the most insignificant of all the items, it is the most important one for the ritual.

"Sacrifice," I spoke, using the spiritual energy I have accumulated till now to call in the little fishes one by one, and they jumped out of the water and directly over the magic circle. "With these little lives as a sacrifice, I call for the man named Riktor Malidi."

The circle pulsated for a bit, illuminating the dark cave for a bit, though this was not what I wanted.

The pulsating meant that the signal did reach Malidi, but he had ignored the call. Which made me stop. "One hair lost." A bit frustrating, but it is what it is.

Calling him again might be causing disturbance to that busy man, which might make me earn his ire. Not a good choice considering I had a need for his expertise. "Hopefully he is ready tomorrow."

Hunger, an odd feeling that he hadn’t experienced for a long time. "Hah." It might be due to straining himself to the limits, but the current Rosso was feeling like a mortal at the edge of his life due to hunger.

This is pretty absurd considering that Grand Knights rarely eat at all, they can extract sustenance directly from the air, converting the natural energies in the atmosphere like the sunlight, moisture, and even mana into their vitality.

But that is only enough for when they have to maintain their natural state, if suffering from heavy injuries, they are still mortal in that aspect and require medicine, food, and nutrients to regain their lost strength.

And Rosso had lost a bit too much during the battle. Not to mention the impact his body had to suffer due to the Curse backlash.

Although he will not die due to his realm, he won’t get better either, he will feel close to death for a long time unless that man who is sleeping doesn’t help him. ’Bones... I wonder if I could digest those bones?’ Rosso thought, looking toward the cleaned body of the deer not too far from him.

During his first pangs of hunger, he let go of all his scruples and cleaned for the little bit of meat it had on them. And what did he get in return?

Nothing at all, the little bits of means on those bones had long lost their nutrients by the time Rosso had devoured them and even turned into poison due to rot. Which might not have harmed his body, but it also didn’t do good to it.

But bones on the other hand, now they were pretty clean and probably won’t rot. Rosso wondered if, in his current realm, he might be able to digest those bones.

While Rosso had such random thoughts, he failed to notice when the snoring from the core area of the manor had disappeared. And in came Dragon, taking a deep yawn before finding the thin and Rosso.

"You haven’t eaten yet?" Dragon asked. Hunger was something Heroth was familiar with, and considering he shared some experiences and memories with Heroth, Dragon who had never felt hungry throughout his existence also understood what this hunger looked like.

Sadly, if he only knew this before leaving this home of his with his servants, one can imagine the pain and hunger they might have suffered here and from the position of some bones, further story can be found that is not so savory to talk about.

"I haven’t... Sir." Rosso didn’t know how to call this man, so he ended up using the term Sir, which Dragon didn’t mind much, well, Rosso hoped he didn’t mind it too much, or he might just die.

"That eye of yours has turned you weak...guess that little pet of his didn’t teach you everything." Dragon laughed for a bit, before grabbing Rosso by the Neck, who couldn’t even react to Dragon’s speed, and then dragged him toward the door.

"Sir, I can’t see a thing."

"But you have to see it..." Dragon didn’t listen to a word of Rosso, he just opened the door with a single push. And before Rosso could speak a few more words of complaints, he threw him out and then closed the door without a word.

Leaving Rosso wide in the open, which at first didn’t feel too bad, well that was until the light from the luminous moss on the ceiling overpowered his mind. "Nooo." And he fought back, his eyes of Melancholy were wide open, trying to fight the influence of the Taboo that was emanating from this place.

But no matter how much he struggled, the little bubble he had created using his eye kept getting smaller.

Who knows, if he had his original strength, he might have easily overpowered the aura of this cave and ignored it, but in his current state, Rosso might just die.

"Let go, don’t fight the influence, not all of them are bad, not all of them hold the strength to destroy you." Came a hateful voice in Rosso’s ears, though this time, it was much more somber, much kinder than the tone that Dragon takes. ’Heroth?’ Rosso wondered, before focusing his mind over what he said.

"Good, slowly give up, let the aura overwhelm you..." Hearing such words, Rosso didn’t know whether he should believe it all or not, but considering there was no other way out, he chose to give it a try. At the worst, he would just be accelerating his end.

"Let go of your fears and accept the air in your surroundings, the land beneath your feet, the light falling into your eyes as well as the sound in your ears, accept it all acknowledge it, and give it a chance to acknowledge you too." The voice continued and Rosso did as was expected of him.

Slowly but surely, he felt the change, as the strength in his eye weakened, so did the intensity of the surrounding light, he could finally breathe better, hear better, and see.. he could finally see the animals and critters in his small underground forest.

"Your sincerity had been noticed... you are a lucky one indeed." With those words, the sound slowly faded before the door on the side opened with a surprised-looking dragnoid. "You still live," Dragon spoke with some surprise. "Well I’m good, I won’t have to carry a corpse there."

Then he looked toward the Deer. "Go and hunt around three, I am even hungrier than the last time... two for me and one for you," Dragon spoke before turning around and going into his room again, leaving Rosso mute at this point.

’It’s not him?’ He thought, seeing that the face of Dragon was much calmer than before. ’That voice, it did sound like Heroth thought.’ He spoke before looking around the area one more time, finding this place a tad bit eerie all of a sudden. ’
