Chapter 522: 8.08.2 Little bit of chaos.

It felt like an eternity until the pain suddenly disappeared.

"I feel weak... again." Although the vital energies in his body, his bloodline, and the cursed level of his body remained unaffected. The physical strain on his body while being transformed left Rosso famished for food.

His bones had grown longer, his flesh was a hint darker, akin to the color of the skin on the mask from before.

However, the biggest change if one were to talk about Rosso would be his head.

It was filled with a lush set of dark hair, that grew over the mask, which was now his face before he even knew it. "This tool is powerful... a complete set of body and race reconstruction surgeries done in a matter of hours. This tool, they are definitely lying." Rosso knew that he had been exposed since the beginning, the pager had exposed him.

Something he had no control over. As for whether it was good or bad? Rosso can’t say for certain, because since communicating with the woman on pager, he had gained some advantages and the work he had been doing had become much simpler, although it did result in an unexpected issue outside his control. ’Part my fault, shouldn’t have gone out of my way to cause trouble.’ Rosso complained about his mistakes before standing up in the small lodge he had found.

"It feels weird." The height, muscle density, breathing pattern, even the fingerprints and foot size, everything was different, making it a bit painful when Rosso initially stood up. His brain was catching up with the changes, and soon he was able to balance himself without an issue. As for fighting in the current state? It would take an hour of practice and getting used to before Rosso could be sure, but it was a non-issue.

"The new face, is better?" using a basin of water as a mirror, Rosso enjoyed the face he got, finding it familiar but not too much. Might belong to one of the test subjects in the laboratory he was born it, but the memory is a bit iffy.

"Well, we are together once again." There was a hint of humor in his voice, finding this all a bit funny.

Something the old Rosso would have found odd. But at this point in time, he had already grown far from what he used to be, he was turning humans, finding joy in little things. Otherwise, the world around was too boring.

’For now, this new face will come in handy.’ Taking out the ID card he had obtained from Arahi, Rosso found the closest train station and entered the eastern district of Rudrain. But it didn’t mean he intended to stay in the eastern district for long.

Come the second day, Rosso had already left it for the southern district, but with some new clothes.

Which were closer to some recycled uniforms of the warehouse workers. "Looking for a living here?"

"My factory closed down after the recent raid of the cultist, I needed work." Was his excuse. However such stories were not needed anyway to find a job, because the current atmosphere of the Southern District of Rudrain was very heavy.

With the outbreak of that odd disease, and random arresting spree carried out by the police and the Guardian Beast families. The lowest rung of the society who usually worked in factories or did low-skilled work started to leave the district the moment curfew was taken down.

Most of those people here don’t have permanent residence anyway, so leaving the district was not much of an issue for them. There were other places to make a living and find a job.

This caused a small void to be left in low-skilled jobs, so a new working willfully coming here was good news to them.

Specifically in the sewage cleaning industry.

"You are sure about it? The old man refused to leave?"

: For now, he did. : But I can’t be sure if he ups and leaves suddenly one day.

"No worries, a couple of days is all I need for preparation."

: What do you intend to do, should we worry about it?

"Yes, leave the southern district if you can.

: Can I ask you to not harm the innocents?

"What I plan, I had no way to control it."

Leaving such a warning, Rosso got up from his bed and started to work in the sewers again. "Ho, it’s rare for newbies to fall asleep in this dung hole so easily... Is your nose bad or something?"

He joined the workforce on the first day, as time was money and according to Rosso’s excuse, he owed some in the eastern district. Which is why his boss allowed him to join the work on day one.

And the work?

It was simple, clean the sewers, unclog the drains, check for any oddities. All were under the strict watch of a Police, whose sole job was to keep an eye on these low-skilled workers and notify his superiors in case these low-level workers found something odd.

The officer on whom this job fell was usually called the Overseer. A job born out of precaution against another one of Jester’s machinations.

"I worked in a fish oil factory, this is nothing in comparison to the stuff I had to deal with there." Rosso made an excuse, doing his work dutifully. But when others were not looking, a drop of blood would fall from his fingertip and turn into small shrimp-like creatures, slowly dividing and spreading among the sewer. ’A week of cultivation should be enough.’

Rosso was planning for a disaster.

In a place far away from Rudrain, in the city of Durum. Amir woke up as usual from his weekly sleep and planned to go for a shower as usual.

He was not under the watch of the old Butler anymore, and due to his achievements during the war, certain privileges had been given to him in due time by his grandfather, among which the greatest still remained his freedom to work on any subject he wanted.

But his mood was not that good. From the recent reports he had received, it’s been a year since the electric engine was first introduced to the masses in Yethel.

His electric engine. Something he made is now being used by the enemy nation.

And the worst part, they were claiming him to be the inventor. They didn’t claim it for themselves but named Amir for creating the prototype. Causing countless accusatory gazes to be sent his way.

He was even forced under investigation, blamed for colluding with enemies and the like. And if not for his identity as a Prince, he might have long disappeared into the annals of history.

"A dirty joke, truly." This truly felt like a dirty joke by Yethel against him.

But what could he do, it’s true that this was his creation, and although he had also found success in perfecting his engine, he had been delayed due to the war and some specific matters that he didn’t wish to think about too hard.

At the end of the day, Amir still felt glad that his creation was used for its intended purpose and not for war. Even if it was not his own country.

Because once one part of the town starts to do something good, others close by copy it soon enough, and Amir believes that the engine will come into use in the next ten years.

"Master, someone is asking for your audience." Said the main of his home, which made Amir a bit curious.

Not anyone can enter his house and ask for an audience. Unless their identity or strength is high enough, most won’t even be able to reach his door. All because he was under tight protection due to the projects he worked on.

"Name him, who is he?"

"He claims to be an associate of yours from the time during the war, Officer Rashid Salah Mani." the name sounded familiar to Amir before he suddenly recalled who the maid was talking about. ’That man, he was spared from the dream.’ The man had left a deep impact on him and from what Amir could recall, the dwarf that attacked him and the man called Farhad used to be Rashid’s classmate at a time.

Though the story behind it, He never truly learned. All he knew was that this officer was actually an intelligence officer who did some spy work during his younger years. And he still does it even now from the way how things ended last time.

’Why here?’

"Keep him entertained in the guest room. I will be there in a while." Amir ordered the maid before going for his shower. Not only does he sleep once a week, but he also showers only once as well. Time was money, and he couldn’t waste it on useless things.

And he had expected that Rashid would stay for the refreshments, as it took him a mere ten minutes to bathe and get ready.

But the moment he came to the Guest room, he found it empty.

"Hmm?" He looked around and found nothing before looking at the Maid who was just returning from the entrance. "Sir, the guest left due to certain reasons, but he had left this letter for you.’ The Maid said while bowing down and handing the Letter to Amir. Who in confusion took it?

"Did he speak of anything else?"

"Nothing besides to read it as early as you could." With those words, she left the scene, not intending to see or learn what was written in the letter.
