Chapter 508: 8.04.5 Finding the way back.

"I have received the information, thank you." With those words, Rosso kept back the items in his chest, along with his little trophy, that turned into the space ring.

For now, the main mission had to be postponed, and there was no time for him to ask about the man he was looking for. The priority was to deal with the tracking method his enemies were using. So after confirming that his body had stabilized, and he had a new target, Rosso made his move.

’The city, it’s a death trap.’ Going toward the city was truly dangerous for him, he didn’t know if there were more of his enemies eying for any odd fellow to barge in, so even if he were to enter Rudrain, he had to use a proper disguise.

Which was the easiest thing for him to do. However, the only reason he had to delay his entry into reality was the radiation of magic that his body had been infected with. This takes time to get rid of, and generally, it won’t be an issue if he is dealing with others, but who knows the level of tracking capability of his enemies?

Any trace of disjointed mana might not be an issue for the old him. Still, currently, when his strength was drained and his eye of melancholy was focused entirely on dealing with foreign threats, he didn’t wish to put any further strain on it to deal with an issue that would easily burn off with time.

It took a total of two days for some figures to fly over the scene. "I had feared it." And he saw the destruction that he had seen multiple times before whenever the Weather Duo went out for a walk.

But this time can be considered different, as they never returned.

"This one seems a bit strong." The Figure was a mage who eyed the surroundings with a bunch of bright eyes, before his eyes fell into a particular area, causing his face to turn sour.

Floating down, he walked a bit before coming across what seemed to be the remains of Weather Duo. "This enemy..." He didn’t know what to say or what to make out of it. Such clean bones were arranged neatly next to the rotten flesh, which itself was set up neatly to what appeared to be the skin of Rain, the knight.

"This one seems to be mocking us.... This is a first." Not far from this weird arrangement of body parts, there was a further mound of gore with pieces of clothes he was well familiar with, though, at this moment, he was in the mood to look too deeply at these things.

With a swipe of his hand, the earth divided devouring each of these body parts before some greenery appeared above the duo’s make-shit tomb. "This is the least I can do." The man spoke, picking a single bone that had been sticking out of Rain’s tomb and then flying away.

Ignoring the price they had to pay to the Hamza family, this was a complete disaster. Their target was rattled probably, he was fleeing for his life now, and finding him from this point on would become difficult with time.

A single failure meant that the subsequent actions would be harder to take, and their target would be more guarded against them from this point on. "This mockery has been noted... you will not have a peaceful death." He spoke, as the greenery completely covered the hill, erasing all the traces of a war ever happening here.

"Why are you taking so long?"

"This thing holds a hint of course, as well as magic, but how it operates? I can’t say, those are just auxiliary supports of this tool, it will work without those as well. If I have to say, this thing is of Mysticism background, A shamanistic tool in the shape of a Compass, they are rare, very rare."

"You are to say, you can’t ascertain how it works?"

"No, my specialty lies in magic, and although I have dabbled a bit in the mysticism, I can’t say I am an expert."

He was back in the city and after his first meeting with the Curse expert, who spoke about the aspect of blood in the tool, the mage didn’t even mention the blood, but he spoke of the other two.

’Another failure.’

Even if he didn’t get the result he wanted, Rosso still had to pay the money, which would have been so hard for him before, but since killing that couple and obtaining their Space ring, his life had turned for the best.

"I am a millionaire now." And not just any millionaire, there were hundreds of millions in promissory notes hidden in the ring, which went to show that those two were earning a huge amount of money with each contract. The best part is that they were all unnamed notes, meaning that anyone can use them without the need for identification.

That’s his luck, that’s his life.

’But each use will leave a trace.’ Rosso also understood that using this money would eventually expose his location, so he changed his face as often as he could while hiding from the public.

Sometimes he will wear a fake mustache, glasses, or even a wig for his bald head.

"From the words of it, it’s a tool made using all those parts combined..." Rosso then looked toward the center of the city. It’s not like he can’t find an answer, but for that to happen he had to walk deeper into the capital, entering the range of the domains of Legendary beings. Which would probably expose him.

But suddenly he recalled something. "That old man, that monster, he might remember something." From Monster he meant the Pawn Shop broker that has caused his right eye to bleed in pain. That old man identified what the bracelet on his hand was pretty easily at that time, so it wouldn’t be too bizarre to think he wouldn’t be able to identify what this compass is and how it works.

"That man is odd, his strength is out of this world, and if he is in that business, he should know?" Thought Rosso before shaking his head a bit.

The place that shop was the southern district, and the heat from his attack hadn’t died down as of yet, there might be curious eyes waiting for his return, or he might just get jumped for no reason other than being a stranger.

That’s what paranoia does to people, and he might become exposed due to such paranoia. "I have to wait and move till the situation in that place stabilizes."

With a new direction in his mind, he kept moving, scrounging for food during the night while finding odd jobs on the outskirts of the city during the day.

And throughout this time, Rosso never slept even once.

Movement was important, and being in public places was even more important. As no matter what happens, he can’t stand out, nor can he remain in a place.

This was such a strenuous activity that by the time the second week came to an end, he was lethargic and weaker than before. But his eyes still remained bright and flickered from time to time, showing that they were still active, looking for anything that might harm Rosso at any point in his life.

"It’s open." And after two weeks of waiting, he saw it, the door of the shop was opened today.

Taking out the Bracelet, as well as the compass, Rosso walked into the store, requesting an audience while asking to sell the bracelet once again. But before he could end his sentence, he looked at the previous customers and fell silent. "I will stand outside until you are done." He spoke, walking out for a bit, before stopping.

Arahi had been familiar with this man who suddenly entered, he was the very same one with the precious bracelet not too long ago, though it’s been a month, and he returned again and in a state much worse than before.

At least that’s how he looked even behind his beard and the hood. "Seems like the man knows some manners." The little girl of the Dranath family spoke, before leaving with her guard.

Generally, this shop didn’t provide any private services, but giving respect to the Nobles was important, more so when you were just a mere civilian in dirty clothes.

Though her guard didn’t think like her. All he did was remain quiet and walk with her out of the shop while giving one deep look at this odd man. "You, are you new here?"

"Yes sir, I work in the mines and if I find something good, I come here."

"Mines? Then are you stealing from your masters?"

"No sir, this was brought out in exchange for normal payment.’ Rosso spoke, showing a dusty gem that didn’t seem that expensive, which was enough proof that the guard turned his head away, losing all his interest.
