Chapter 491: 8.01.4 Big mistake.
The city of Rudrain was unlike Durum, there were churches there. Although the Royal family followed the God of Blood and Wine, they didn’t suppress any church activity, giving free rein for people to choose the religion they wanted to follow. They were causing a high the whole city to be covered in religious colors all the time.
However, some churches can’t coexist from next to each other. Specifically the Religion of Truthful Deceit. Their Knights and followers might hold important positions in the government, overseeing the judiciary system, but due to their intrusive nature that rivaled that of the Radiant Order, rarely were they considered good neighbors, which forced them to form their own community in certain parts of the city.
There was one such community in the Southern District of Rudrain as well a community to which the Four Auspicious Beast Families belonged. Also considered one of the Forbidden Areas, as noted in the information that Rosso just received. ’They will be the first... they handle the intelligence and considering the relationship between the bartender’s guild and the city, they will be the first to notice my existence and come after me.’
Rosso brainstormed the nature of power’s activity in the city, whether they would come after him or not. ’They will, they will be after me, or the people behind me... as at the end of the day, I am a mere mortal working in a butcher shop... so misdirection would be necessary.’
The seconds to learn of his existence would probably be the Radiant Knights, however, if they would react to his existence would be a different matter altogether. ’My strength is hidden, none can’t notice the true me. They can’t feel it... I will be safe.’
Rosso predicted the outcome of his actions and felt that even if he put himself in the limelight, this was still the correct decision on his part. The gains outweigh the losses, and considering who he was after, this might be the only way for him to expand his search area.
AKA borrowing others to do the job for him.
’The trace showed that he went to Rudrain for some odd reason, so he should be here, one way or another.’ With such hopeful thoughts, Rosso left the scene.

’This city is real good, those bastards can’t show force no matter how long it goes.’ Heroth smiled, drinking his cheap liquor as always while he ordered Arahi to clean the things in the shop after her study was done.
It had been a week since his visit to the bartender and there hadn’t been many changes in his life for the most part. Though he had been able to get a full picture of certain things and understood who was after him.
’Azure Dragon’s Behrouz, the snake hiding in the grass, trying to create conflict between the White tigers and Vermilion.’ This information was not hard to find after he set his mind to it. All he had to do was listen in on certain individuals who dared to dally in the street where his shop was situated.
Which he hated doing actually, as this small act of his also forced him to listen in on things he found disgusting or outright offensive. He was not the kind to intrude in people’s privacy so easily, and if not for his curiosity over who was using him as bait, he wouldn’t have been forced to learn what kind of acts the Old woman liked to perform on her old husband every week.
Well, Heroth can’t complain though, it shows that their love was still pretty fresh, and it also explains why the old man was thin like a twig while eating so much on a regular basis.
But enough about the random citizens of this great city, for now, focus on the green snake that was playing from the dark. ’This mine, though not showing much interest on the surface, they had been eyeing it as well.’
Originally, the Azure Dragon had to fight with the Black Tortoise’s Dranath Family for their own little conflict concerning the sale of ten cargo ships that can give a high-level boost to any family that obtains them.
Though the Dranath family, appeared weak and pathetic in the eyes of the commoners due to their habit of always being in isolation and not taking part in Southern district politics, the truth was, that the Dranath family never needed to because of how strong and rich they were on their own.
It was this strength that ensured that the Azure dragon would lose the contest, as they can’t compare to the Black Tortoise family in any way possible. So they eye the mine, which the other two were fighting for. ’ Create conflict and sweep in for a partnership. Providing support to the family that is on the weaker side.’
Although they won’t be able to gain the full rights, there would still be some profit to be had. And something is always better than nothing for these families.
Of course, they don’t care what happens to the people in the middle. And if not for the assurance of the Bartender’s association, he would have exposed this little rumor that he inadvertently found to the Vermilions.
"Boss, is it my fault? That no one is coming here?" The girl suddenly spoke, appearing pitiful as she looked toward the door that barely opened two times since her arrival. Which caused Heroth to laugh for a bit. "Girl, you are young and beautiful. Perfect for attracting customers, and if they are not even coming here with your beauty, then there are certainly some other issues... so don’t think too hard, you are not at fault."
"Also, don’t speak of such stupid things again... I like good jokes, but this felt a bit forced."
"Sir... I didn’t mean it lik..." Her face red with embarrassment, Arahi couldn’t help but apologize. However, this apology came short as someone on the street threw a rock at the shop, breaking the display window and startling Arahi who backed off in fear, while Heroth got up, appearing a bit annoyed. "These bastards." He recalled the claims of the Bartender’s association, before turning his eyes toward the stone again. "They really want to ruin my peaceful life?" Walking out, he found no one in the area, and from the surprised expression of the three from Vermilion who were already looking for the perpetrator, it can be seen that whoever the perpetrator was, he was skillful enough to hide from their detection.
Of course, that was only the case for grunts, Heroth looked at a distance, toward the young man who appeared nothing more than a commoner, but Heroth understood that this young man was probably around Adept if he could move that far in such a short time.
’Troublesome... that man has to answer me. But first...’ He looked at the three and said. "The one with the fastest feet among the three, go and inform Chalice of what happened here, while the two of you will directly stand guard at my door tonight." This order came out of nowhere, surprising the three who thought they had done well to hide from Heroth.
But obviously, they were wrong. And although these three would generally not listen to some small-time pawn shop owner, considering the words of his master and how they were so easily found by this old man. It’s safe to say, they can’t afford to offend him.
"As you wish sir." With one leaving the scene, while the other two standing guard at the door, Heroth went back into the scared girl. "Don’t be scared of those men and close the shutter, we are closing early today. " He ordered before moving into his room again.
His mood was ruined, and he needed to cool down a bit, otherwise he didn’t know what "He" might do. ’Peaceful... calm... control it.’
"I am the Devil’s Advocate ~ You don’t know the half of it... ~" With a song once again, he climbed the stairs, hiding from the world and hiding from Arahi. Though his song never stopped and for some reason, the song gave the two men goosebumps, even though the lyrics sounded so jolly.
’What is this old man?’ One of them eyed his companion and asked. But all he got in return was a refusal. As even, he didn’t know what kind of being this old man was.
But that was not the case for Arahi.
Who with a pained expression done as she was asked, locked the shop. Before going to her room and forcing herself to sleep.

"No, no... those fools, we warned them. We warned them to not do anything foolish." The leader of the Bartenders in the Civilian area of the Southern District was named Raja. His job was managing the branches of Bartender’s Guild from his small shop and nothing more.
He was not the one to directly convene with customers, with one exception of course. ’These fools have done it now.’ He remembers the directives he had received, which spoke of a giant that had arrived in the city. And he had to cater to all of the Giant’s requests while making sure that no one found out about him.
Of course, he also came to know that this giant was generally a gentle individual, barely capable of harming anyone. A fact that became true after he met this giant for real. But it didn’t mean there was no fear in his heart. After the meeting, he understood more than anything that he couldn’t annoy the giant no matter what happened.
"Our Branch from henceforth cease any dealings with the Azure Dragons... also inform the rest of the families of what they are planning."
