Chapter 468: 7.20.5 Fuc!!!!
Early on, the fact that his prisoner never dared to look into his eyes had something to do with the status between the two sides. A man who can’t look into your eyes had too much to hide, and he should have caught on to it from the start.
’It makes just too much sense.’
When everything was taken into account from start to end of Farhad’s story and the connections, which when put together, a certain picture would form up.
And if one were to put some effort into through and look to the past, recalling where he had seen similar coincidences before, Amir noticed the oddity instantly. ’The only one that stood out.’ He looked at the man again and recalled a piece of certain news he had obtained not too long ago from the headquarters.
’They were looking for something.’ Although he didn’t know the answer at that time, when he recalled the mission the Radiant Order, and the military and the Dusk knights were doing. Which when matched with the little Ghoul stampede that followed.
’He either got lost or ran away... it’s the latter, obviously.’ This man came to him without ever telling him his identity directly and always acting mysterious and suspicious.
’He fears me for some reason... an understandable reason I might add.’
"You... seems like I got caught easily." Farhad sighed, feeling a bit disappointed, as he was unable to play the game as he wanted. ’I still have a long way to go.’
"You didn’t deny it?" At that question, Farhad just lifted his head and looked at Amir, which caused Amir to walk a bit further away from him. "I would be found out anyway, now that you know who I am."
This was what happened before, and if Amir can come to find his identity with a simple conversation just now, then it won’t be weird that he won’t ask Farhad to look him in the eyes. "You, what are you really?" He asked again.
Last time he never obtained an answer, there was a wall of priest Boman and the Radiant Knights between him and Farhad, making it harder for him to learn any truth.
But now that very individual was his captive.
"In truth, even I don’t know... what I am is what he made me into, so the only one who can answer is him."
"You... you really don’t think I would believe your words... I have learned your identity now. And although I might not understand why, I know one thing for sure. You don’t want to go back under the protection of Priest Boman and the rest." These words contained a hint of threat, and it really did work on Farhad to some extent.
But those words didn’t work for me. "Ho mister, it’s not good to threaten a good friend of my master." hearing those words, Amir came to a pause and turned around, finding that there was someone standing at the doorstep in the military uniform.
It was a face he had seen before. "Richard? How did you get here?" Asked Amir as he moved closer to Officer Richard, to learn what he meant by those odd words. But before Amir could succeed, Farhad warned. "Don’t get close, he is a shape-shifter."
Hearing such words, Amir backed up instinctively. ’A shape-shifter?’ He had heard about those, weird oddities that had caused so much chaos in the world, that most of the shape-shifter bloodlines were hunted to extinction for their arrogance.
But this was not the time to have random thoughts, as there was a glaring question he needed to ask. "What did you do to Hemant?" He asked, looking at me as if I was some creep.
And I answered him without worries. "Nothing bad, I don’t intend to cause any harm to you or anyone else, I am just here to get the things I was promised." As I said those words, I looked at my old friend, who was currently bound to the chair.
But who was Amir? He was not the one to believe the words of a stranger so easily, so he rushed at me, thinking I was there to kill or do some other things.
Which was not wrong, considering one of the Royal’s just fallen, and this might be his chance just now.
As for Farhad, he remained quiet, looking at me without a single hint of fear. ’Ho, this little guy expected this all.’
The game and the rules, I know them completely.
The meeting will once again be held in this very camp and due to certain circumstances, party B would have to approach party A on his own. Meaning that no matter what happens, as long as Party A or his proxy fulfills his deal of being in the camp with the reward, he has done his side of the deal.
Now it depends on Party B to obtain the item in the given time.
It doesn’t matter what the circumstances inside the camp are at that time. ’The proxy bit... not as stupid little Ludwig.’ I looked down on Ludwig as well, and I relented to such a mistake.
This is what forced me to hide in the camp all this time and considering the time it would take for the chaos to spread, I did what was expected of me and sacrificed my fingers to send the most mortals into sleep, and then three fingers more to send some special individuals to speed, which mostly composed of Master Rank powers.
Making my current hand lacking a bit of finger, though none of the people here cared for it, with one of them outright attacking me.
’Killing me with borrowed hand.’ Ho, I now understand why Amir was sent here as well. ’This Ludwig is much more dangerous than I had expected.’
The punch that flew toward me turned into blood claws, while a greater armor made of blood covered Amir.
He was not holding back from the start, there was no reason to hold back when the lives of his very men were in danger. "Such a fool... I wonder what Miss Gazelle found in you." I spoke those words while backing up. Using the monkey’s transformation to first turn smaller in size and then using the agility gained in this form I fled from the scene at the fastest I could.
There was no need to fight that monster in such a close space. I was not an adept fighter, it took time for me to formulate thoughts and then attack my enemies.
So although I had an overwhelming advantage when fighting people slightly weaker than me. But the issue starts if they are on the same level or even at a greater level than me.
Because there was one thing I lacked that I could never obtain in any way possible.
It was the battle instinct.
But who needs battle instinct when you have battle tactics in your hand?
’As I expected, he didn’t dare follow me.’ The young Prince currently looked at his fallen men at the doors of the cell, making sure they were alive, before dragging their bodies inside Farhad’s cell.
"Don’t worry, no matter what he does, he won’t hurt us at all... he is under a contract, just like me."
"Won’t’ hurt us?" Amir thought as he dragged more bodies inside. "Tell me then, how did he turn into Richard and where is the real Richard?"
"I just came here..."
"You intend to use me to deal with him, don’t you... a Royal lost his life not too long ago, I presume it has something to do with you... no, it’s the deed of my cousin and he is the hired help."
Amir was smart. Too smart for his own good.
’This, this is going to be troublesome.’
"And you.... My brother was called over so he asked for your help once again... you did say you both were close friends. Closer than real brothers I believe. You even dared to handle some dangerous task of him... while dragging me in the mix." Amir suddenly recalled the request that was made of him by his brother.
Everything seemed too innocent on the surface.
Just a Prince worried about the safety of his men.
’He dared to employ someone so dangerous?’ He recalls that odd man, coming at an inopportune time, leaving some confusing words along with a single taunt. ’He knows Gazelle.’
"It’s true, that we intended to make use of you without ever letting you know his involvement with Prince Lucius’ accident... but I can assure you, Prince Ludwig never wished for any of those accidents to happen, nor does he wish to continue to hold any relationship with that man now that it did. It’s why he made this plan. He hoped that you might be able to understand his thoughts and deal with the intruder on your own."
The contract stipulates that neither Ludwig nor his proxy can request help or find a way to harm Party B in any way possible. But that contract never said anything about a third party getting involved of their own will while finding the truth on their own.
Of course, the most Ludwig as well as Farhad had expected would be Amir finding the shape-shifter on his own and deal with him as he saw fit.
But Ludwig never thought that Amir would come to the truth so fast on his own.
"You... fuck... this!" Some curses from his commoner days started to leave Amir’s lips before he turned to Amir. "You... After I am done, you will give me answers. And all of them this time."
