The God of Jesters
Chapter 405 - 7.05.1 An unexpected god.

Chapter 405: 7.05.1 An unexpected god.

Every country in the world had its fair share of growing pains. But in this specific world, these ever-increasing pains would usually amount to the entire annihilation of a species. It’s why the Elves don’t exist in his world, nor do the beast men who once held an empire that spanned continents.

Which was caused by one specific reason.

No matter how big a country or society becomes, no matter what happens, if the individuals that hold true power don’t like you, then your end would be a sad one.

This can be seen from the beast men, who denied the gods and kept worshiping their totems. Now none of them exist.

And since their annihilation, there is a common saying that for a nation to exist, it would need the backing of a church.

But for mega churches, which span entire continents, they don’t stoop so low to control a nation. They leave it to lesser gods and Cynarks’ God was one such being. A god who was not allowed to have a church of his own, but there were many beings that followed him for his creation of the nocturnal species of blood kin, or Vampire in the current nomenclature.

Piscasa, the god of blood and wine, son of the Sun God, as in his legend, was born from the shed blood of the Sun God, hence holding some parts of Death divinity. Making Cynark inadvertently a connection to the Church of Red Sun.

Turning them even stronger. Although the Church of Red Sun didn’t wish to involve themselves in mortal matters. They would still be forced to do some unsavory things due to the aforementioned relationship they shared with Cynark.

Which included the death of Icaros Yethel.

And the reason why Yethel could only passively defend itself was due to the gods as well. Which has changed since Yethel obtained a god of their own.

However, the rebels understood that without a backing of their own, they could never hope to create a place for themselves. A god of their own.

"They rule for they hold strength, they hold the god’s decree. They claim that it is their god-given right to govern us, to oppress us."

"So we need a god of our own, a kinder god, a just god, and a god that doesn’t serve the already strong. A god that helps the weak."

"We need a backing that can rival that blood-sucking God of Wine and his blood-hungry servants." Riled up in passion, the man cursed Bloodhearts and their god, they cursed the churches that ignored their plight and the nobles.

Before reaching a particular point in his speech.

"I looked for an answer, a being that would listen to us, a being that showed us pity."

"But did you know the funny thing about this all? The being was with us all the time... he sent his servants to show me the way, he drove many like us to break away from our system and find an answer to the corruption."

"I think many might know who I am speaking about. Many among us have seen his servant. Coming to us in many forms to inspire us. Though those that met him like me are not here, they are out there, finding like-minded individuals like you lot, haha."

"And like me, they probably see it too, the figure of our god in the dreams." The Man’s name was Manny, as his parents were never so creative. They gave him a simple name, just like how simple in nature they were.

But who would have thought that after their deaths, their son would have his life turned upside down? Just like he dropped the curtain that was behind him, exposing a simple painting of a four-handed deity with four faces.

Each face holds a specific emotion.

"This is him. The one who inspired us to take up arms, the one to expose us to the corruption of the world. He is God of Inspiration... he is god of Jesters."

"You wish to..." Before I could speak a word, something odd happened.

If I had been a true living being, this sensation might have gone unnoticed. I could feel it through the connection of the dream world. I could feel multiple anchors seemed to have latched onto my true soul one by one, dragging me down to the bottom.

"Wh... what is happening?" I asked.... Not just me, but all of my clones spoke the same words, which confused Kairut who heard such words in his ears.

"This... this is odd... My souls... sync no eat kill."

"Ho, the fool had fallen to his own trick." A man with a horn on his head looks toward the city center, toward the giant ball of consciousness that had covered the capital of Yethel for a decade at this point.

It was the biggest clone of Jester in existence. Even his true soul was much weaker and smaller in comparison to the majesty of this clone of his.

But now, the man can see chaos in it. He can see the countless chains that appeared out of nowhere and hooked themselves to Jester’s body.

"The birth of a totem." He thought, before laughing, knowing full well that nothing could be worse for Jester than this. "His little games of starting a church should have backfired... but I wonder how did it turn out like this. How did he accumulate enough plebeians to believe in him?"

Jester was a unique existence that Emotion found pretty fun. An existence that shouldn’t exist in this world, but due to all kinds of coincidences, Jester did survive and prospered.

Truly a one of a kind being who had been nothing but a scourge to the world of the living.

It was then that Emotion noticed something inch toward him in the world of dreams. Something he was very familiar with.

"Ho, you don’t look so good." It wasn’t hard for the Lord Emotion to exist in multiple dimensions all at once. "How does it feel like to inching toward being a Totem."

"So... Totem... it is..." The current Jester’s body seemed to have appeared as a stitched abomination, it seemed to contain various different aspects he had once used to appear in front of mortals. All of which came together to create the abomination. "Help me... I can’t exist as One.... need."

"Haha, you know, it’s the first time I have felt any true emotions from you... but I never expected this emotion to be that of Rage." Lord Emotion laughed, for a bit before shushing Jester with a simple gaze. "It’s just growing pains, you are ascending to a higher realm of existence and this includes all parts of you... and after this is over, you can once again live your divided life."

A totem was born from the needs of people and usually in the old days, the totems were the strong figures who had attained transcendence due to various factors that were never noted in history.

And seeing their strength, the weak races came to worship those beings, which in turn birthed the totems. Or so it’s believed over how it all happened. The totems have existed long before the existence of Humans themselves.

"I... Don’t... Wish for this..."

"You are recovering faster than I had expected.." Lord emotion enjoyed the rage in Jester’s heart. And it’s not like he didn’t understand why Jester was angry.

This just ruined most of Jester’s plans. No, it virtually ruined everything for him.

And this was one of the reasons why Lord Emotion never stopped Jester from playing god. He wanted to see if Jester was capable of accumulating enough force to start the deification process. Which had loads of requirements besides the need for just followers.

And it would seem that Jester ignorantly fulfilled each and every one of them, ascending to the level of totems.

"Daemon... that was my goal."

"If that was your goal, then why start a church? This is the fruit of your foolishness. So enjoy it."

Far away in the country of Cynark, a young man with dark hair finished devouring the body that was sent to him, before looking in the direction of Yethel. "What is this itch?"

It was only for a light moment, but it would seem that something tried to claw into his body, but with the protection of the Samadhi flames, whatever that thing was, it backed off.

"I have an inkling, this has something to do with Jester."

Farhad was alone now, sending Remira her merry way to the Radiant Order, who were all the more happy to receive her. Of course, none of the details were exposed and Remira was given a new temp identity while she recuperated in her home because officially, Remira is an international criminal at this moment.

As for Farhad?

He lived in the monastery of Red Sun, under the direction of the Radiant Order as well as the Cynark military, who had some sway in the Monastery.

As Radiant Order already considered him their property, on account of Samadhi flames being their property.

Being the son of a "hero" also makes him a citizen of Cynark, turning him into a diplomatic nightmare to handle, which finally forced the two parties to finally relent and allow Farhad to remain in the neutral zone, which is the Monastery of the Red sun.

Considering this was the Red Sun’s monastery, there were various old priests and Knights who lived there, waiting for their death. Which happened more often that one might have liked.
