Chapter 393: 7.01.3 Can’t sleep tonight.

There were many potions in this world that could regenerate a Limb or heal a punctured eye. A knight can lose any part of their body, including a lethal amount of blood from their body, but there might still be a chance that they might come back.

Even for mortals, if they were to lose their heart, a simple heart replacement surgery can save their lives for years to come. But a problem occurs when the same happens to a Knight.

Ignoring the compatibility issues and strength of a Knight. It’s next to impossible for a Knight to regain their heart through normal operations. They either need a donor from someone who shares their blood or be forced to sustain themselves through regular operations and magically treated mortal hearts which need to be changed every few months.

Which Hemant was forced to adopt as he was the only one with his Tauran Bloodline on the continent of Brihma.

As for powerful potions that can heal a Master Knight’s Heart? They were expensive, and even Amir with all his strength and position couldn’t get his hands on them.

"Do as I tell you to do if you wish to save your man." That was the connotation derived from the message that Amir obtained. From his discussion with his grandfather, it was easier for Amir to learn that the enemies, as in the Rat King have taken Hemant hostage.

However, the question then arose. How did Rat King know that we would be able to save Hemant? Putting him in such a sorry state?’ Generally, someone in Hemant’s situation would have died long ago. But he was kept alive only due to the will of Amir, who didn’t wish for Hemant to lose his life for a job he sent him on.

Not to mention, this became more apparent as he had learned from Hemant what he had found during his mission.

"Such a figure was hiding right under our noses and no one ever bothered to validate his existence?" When Amir had asked such a question at the height of his emotion. His Grandfather Deimos could only laugh and explain. "He was insignificant before, It’s why we made such a mistake of overlooking his existence... this won’t happen again."

Since learning about Rat King, Deimos had been able to learn a lot about his past through the nonsensical reports from the past which were considered the ramblings of officers who have gone mad in grief.

Officers who had a hand in the death of Ikaros Yethel in one way or another. Many people have wondered if these people had brought with them something dirty. It was no secret among the people aware of the operation that a forbidden spell was cast that day during Yethel’s death.

It’s why, no one had initially believed a word they said. No one bothered to believe in him as they sounded too absurd so much so that none of the officers bothered to inform him of such insignificant details to Duke Wortham.

Many regret after Jester’s Existence was confirmed.

But does it change anything? No, not in the eyes of his grandfather.

The only thing that Yethel has an edge over them is in those weird weapons that struck the industry in Luthanza. Besides those things, Cynark still remains the one that possesses the highest quality of transcendent Soldiers, which was supported by their high population.

Not to mention, there is also the Mage Armor Troop that had shown some promise when they made their debut during the Durum Tragedy a few years ago.

But none of those words held any value in Amir’s eyes, he had seen the future. He had suffered under the future’s wrath and might have died to that future if not for Archmage Twilight Flower protecting him that day.’Arrogance is like poison, and it would seem my Grandfather is poisoned by it.’

These were words he didn’t dare to say out loud, he just bowed in head to show his support for his Grandfather’s words before asking what should he do.

"You bite the bait, this is a great opportunity to find what kind of cure that thing is offering you. And through whom."

Using a Prince as bait was unheard of. And if the words were to reach the ears of anyone in this world, including the royal family members, that would be a big stain on Grand General Deimos’ honor.

How could he sacrifice his own grandson in such a way?

These would be the kinds of questions that would be raised. It’s why the whole conversation between the Grandson and Grandfather never actually happened in the heads of these two and just to prevent any accidents, his grandfather even forced Amir to go through an oath of heart using a contract.

This was needed considering the kind of danger he was putting himself in.

But there was no need to hurry, there was no need to go to the borders prematurely and first look for a fix that he can gain without putting his life at risk. And he ended up finding some, including the artificial heart researched by the Transmutation mages and some other bizarre operations that would turn Hemant more machine than man.

And when he appeared to have tried all the avenues he could, Amir finally went to the border to look for such a cure.

All of this was an act from the start, to let this all-seeing Jester know that he was desperate.

And it seemed to have worked. He didn’t even get the luxury of seeing his room, but someone had already approached him with a cure.

The only issue was, this seemed to be his family member.

’No, this can’t be.’ If he remembers’ correctly, Jester would wish for his blood obtained under his consent, and if there is a member of the royal family truly working with Jester, then he would have done so long ago.

So, although suspicious of the timing of it all, Amir didn’t come to a conclusion so easily. He just gave Sarlen a look before saying. "Tomorrow morning at ten. Show me your sincerity by being on time."

With those words, He left Sarlen in the dust while heading to the room that would be his room for the next six months, or more, depending on whether the war broke out or not.

’I hope it doesn’t though.’ Amir dreamed of a future with no wars. A future where the technology he invented would be used to make the lives of commoners better. A future where the oppression of the nobles will be no more.

A future, where his family won’t exist in this world.

’I can’t help but envy the mortals on the other side of the veil.’

Both were earth, but on one side there were individuals that held power to overturn entire cities on the other side, there were only mortals, unable to hold much power unless they came together and worked for a common gold

’I should have been born in that world, instead of this one.’ Amir thought in a tired mood, before opening the door to his room, which too was built underground, and found only the bare necessities and nothing more.

’This, is better than I expected.’ Being a prince, he had the right to a personal room. But that was the limit of good graces that would be showered on him.

’It’s truly better this way.’ At least, this way, he can still remain somewhat connected to his roots.

Let’s go back to the past again, it’s the time when Remira and Farhad had found an army outpost in the lands of Luthanza and approached them openly while exposing their identity.

Of course, this earned them nothing more than suspicious gazes and someone even dared to shoot at their feet in order to scare Remira and Farhad away. But With some mutations shown by Farhad, which scared the mortal soldiers on the outpost. The Two were finally allowed in and given some food that they had on the outpost.

Which was the most appropriate thing to do, considering they were just mortals facing superhuman beings. And if these beings wished to, they could have ended their lives easily. And from the very fact that they didn’t do such a thing and maintained a humble disposition toward the soldiers. It showed that these were not evil people.

Or at least didn’t act like one at least.

"I apologize for my prior offense, I didn’t mean to..."

"No need, you are just doing your job. Just focus on doing that job, as I am pretty tired as of now and wish to have a good’s night sleep." Farhad lied, there was never a need for him to sleep, ever. But he still liked to pretend like he did.

As for Remira, she looked around the outpost and asked. "How long till the jeep arrives?" She was a Radiant Knight, she had proven it through the flames that grew in her hands. But she never gave her true name.

Nor does she intend to give it out until she meets an outfit of Radiant Knights that should exist in Luthanza.

It’s only there she can expose all she has learned.

"Two hours at most, the jeep has already left the headquarters and will arrive by morning." The soldier spoke while bowing his head down in respect before saying his goodbye and leaving the two to remain in their bedrooms, which were generally occupied by the day shift people at that moment. But due to Remira’s and Farhad’s arrival.

The day shift will begin a bit early today.
