Chapter 119: 2.31.2 I am close.

Entertainment.

A word that is looked down upon in this boring world. They shame you for seeking joy, for seeking your version of entertainment.

To the world, entertainment is nothing more than wasting time. And those that could earn through the medium they entertain themselves, can only be considered rarity. People who love their job and do it out of pure joy and not a necessity for their living.

And I was one of those rarities. Through the little pieces of past memories that remain in my head, I know one truth about me.

I had always loved what I did. A composer to a great music score, a director to a great play, and a wraith doing dealings like a shady broker with important individuals in the world.

I did it all and enjoyed every single part of it. And throughout that experience, there was one thing that brought me more joy than anything else.

"Let’s see if I got the right one." Even with a massive distance, I can see it clearly.

The figure remained in the sky, while a tower crumbled under it. Giving it an almost holy aura. If not for the heartbeat that was breaking those around it. People with hopes of reincarnation.

It would filter out the natural away from the unnatural. Those undeserving reincarnation cycles will remain immune to this simple attack. A defense measure of a god that might have worked on others. But for me, who had long forsaken a new life, this was nothing more than a slight annoyance in my ears.

As for the beast under that crumbling building that was reaching for the god. I can almost pity it.

’Another one.’ I thought. A byproduct of the influence of god-like individuals, I can almost see who it was or what it was.

The bioluminescence of the beast that looked spectral was causing me to feel pain, if not for the protection of this fleshly body of Farhad, I might be dead.

"Come on, what are you waiting for?" I said while moving closer. And as expected, the heartbeat stopped coming. Giving the rest of the people time to breathe freely. That is if they could. All of them suffered from injuries to their heart as well as the building that fell down on them.

Which included who knows how many people. For all I cared about was the beast, who had shown her value to no end.

A woman that I put in this game out of curiosity. She was meant to die earlier, for she was deemed an unnecessary element to the plan, someone who was not meant to be here.

However, it was for that reason, I made Blue Lotus ignore her as long as they could handle it. Which ended up birthing such a unique beast. Details about which were alien to even me. She was truly unpredictable, so much so that even I started to wonder if my main goal would be ruined by her existence as well.

It was then that it happened. The body of Maxim, which had remained unmoved till this point, shook in the air. Causing the very environment to shake under its movements. Pushing me a bit further back and pushing away all the dust that was left in the wake of the collapse.

A shock that woke up Maxim, with his hollow eyes and weakened body.

*****

He could feel it. He could feel a greater existence inside his body than the one he had been holding onto all this time. An existence that was devouring the other at a fast rate, which brought back the light of Radiance, back in his eyes.

However, this light remained only for a bit, as intense pain, a kind that one can’t understand, crawled up from his stomach and then shot out of his mouth, which forced his mouth to open up.

’What is happening?’ He wondered, but his thoughts were flooded by the will of the greater existence, causing his mind to break and driving away the influence of the Radiant blood with it.

An action that was not liked by a certain figure. But due to the limits he had been imposed, he won’t be able to bring much influence here anyway.

He had done what he could before, now it was all on Remira and whether she could succeed or not.

"Men, on the count of 3." The dampened voice came from under the rubble. A voice belonging to the Knights, which were responsible for the Tower’s destruction. Which ended up falling onto them.

But to these knights who were capable of facing modern weaponry on their shields alone, this was nothing.

With a push, all the rubble exploded, exposing the Knights in Shining Armor that blazed with fury as their eyes were straight on the floating figure in the sky. They were not as "lucky" as the beast Remira had become, the heartbeat of a god that had broken their bodies down and if not for the support of Light of Radiance, they might have fallen to the ground long ago, unable to ever lift up all the pieces of the broken tower until help arrived.

But they were never simple among knights. They were the strongest ones, the radiant ones. The people that followed the very first knight. Which made them a lot more special compared to others.

"The beast is not attacking us." The countless arms of the beast picked up the rubble from the side and started attacking Maxim, who had lost his mind due to the will of the greater being. The Daemon of Incarnation.

A being who had finally collected its body together and was attempting to revive itself, which few wished for.

For her revival would bring chaos in the world and those in the know, understand why it was so.

And the Knights were one of them. But like usual, they were completely useless from range, and even if they were capable of harming this being that was close to being born. None of their attacks might work, just like that of the beast which was hurling rubble at it.

A piece of the tower that turns to dust the moment they get close to the body.

"No, you bastards!! This is enough." Vanessa shouted as the sphere made out of earth floated in the air.

With a voice that shook the ground and an aura that crushed the hurt of her enemies. Her mere presence was enough to implant fear in people’s heart.

But she was just one, what else can she do?

The Knights thought. Before the storm clouds formed up in the air, bringing in the arrival of the bleeding Holforaz, who looked much weaker than before. But his hatred for the Knights as well as the mages that were hiding not too far away, was immense.

"This will be your grave."

Now, the earth and the sky came together, to bring the might of the elements on their enemies. It would be hard for them to survive.

Of course, that was the case for the Knights.

As high above, the mouth of Maxim opened up and a small bud of flesh crawled out of it, a bud that got bigger and fatter, draining the very being that was once called Maxim.

This included his flesh, his bones, his memories, his fate as well as his soul. Barring him from reincarnating again, as all of his being turned into fertilizer for the flesh bud that had crawled out of its mouth.

And to his end, Maxim knew nothing of how it happened and why he died. No, it would be more apt to say he would be deemed forbidden, for he had been assimilated into the body of a god.

"My memories are getting jittery," Jester said, as he got closer and closer to his target. The flesh bud that floated in the air.

A feeling that many suddenly came to experience, making them pause for a while before they moved on with their fight.

A pause that removed any memory of Maxim from their mind. A man that was forgotten by time, just like the true name of a god and who they were before their ascendance.

"It’s a success if it’s shaped like that," Jester said, looking at the others in pity who were hailing their attacks on the being, unaware of the harm their mere presence so close to that lotus was doing to their brain and body.

’Few will survive.’

He thought and kept on moving, ignoring the confused faces of the Mage-Tech regiment that was fighting from range as well as the beast whose eyes were stuck to the mages as well as the Lotus.

With few exceptions, I was almost invisible to most, as they were too involved in their job. They were unaware of me due to my lack of strength. Like a rat that scuttles in the corner, either ignored or hated.

That’s what I am currently. A rat to these greater beings, who treated me like I was some rat or insect.

Someone who will die soon in this chaos.

But I was not in the mood to die again. I was in the mood for something more fun.

"Found you." A dead body without any limiter and regeneration made me very strong. Though I was still nothing compared to the Radiant Knights or Knights in general. But this much strength was enough to drag the body that was buried in the rubble.

"Wakey wakey father, It’s time for you to die. Just like your other friend." Jubilation was on my face. However, my hands stopped when I heard. "Jester, drag me out of here."
