The God of Jesters -
Chapter 106 - 2.28.5 Awakening.
Chapter 106: 2.28.5 Awakening.
Unable to squeak a bit, I saw a woman blinded by a fantasy of bizarre love, beat the girl that I treated a bit better out of boredom.
And yes, it was boredom and nothing else. I expected her to act as a wildcard that would shake the foundations of the whole conspiracy, bringing some chaos into the mix. For her existence was never meant to be in this city since the start.
Which made me wonder, what would happen if she obtained some immunity from the pursuit of Blue Lotus?
And lo and behold, the result was in front of me. A disappointment to say the least, but it was to be expected of a girl that put forward arrogance ahead of her mind, unlike a certain someone else who was much more amazing than this child.
Oh, how I want to tell you folks about her. But for now, let’s focus on the torture that Remira was experiencing with her body being tortured in front of my eyes, while on the side, I can hear a battle of wits with guns and magic.
The old Ramroa who always looked so pathetic turned out to be a great fighter. His heavy body was a lot more agile than it appeared at first glance, dodging the fiery attack of Maisel, which was capable of turning his body into ashes.
But I can see it, even with the help on his back with bullet fire, Ramroa or his men won’t survive for long. Which would then be followed by the eventual death of Dantalian at the hands of Maisel.
Though, I can see that even before that happened, poor Remira won’t survive it at all.
"No words in your mouth? Your precious girl is being killed by me, just like you caused his death..."
Lady, if I could speak, I would have. But with my tongue in the pocket of Varkus Maisel, his son(technically), won’t be much of a speaker anymore.
Though I still gave her an answer, opening my mouth with a smile on my face, I was annoyed while dancing what remained of my tongue in my mouth, before mouthing the words. ’No one will tongue you anymore.’
Which was disgusting, earning the ire of the woman lost in love and wrath. But it was funny enough.
Remira has fulfilled her role, though falling through the end and failing at it, I don’t mind the joy she gave me. But this was her limit and her end.
At the moment, she was so close to death that none of the torture even registered on her nerves, a sign of necrosis that had taken hold of many parts of her body.
Though, it was good. For all the joy she brought me, at least her death can be as peaceful as this.
Even in her dream, I can feel peace and calmness, before which there was chaos and desperation.
And somethin....
"What is that?"
Though the words didn’t voice out of my mouth. The angered Dantalian, who was enjoying Remira’s torture turned her head to Remira after reading my lips.
"A joker till the end." She said, unable to feel the oddity I felt. The entity that caused my soul to quiver in fear.
An existence way past the archmages, entering the level of legends.
No, from what it felt, it was something greater, something older, ancient even.
Something that had seen through my existence, but chose to ignore it for I didn’t hold any animosity toward Remira.
But for Dantalian, who couldn’t see the entity, I detected a level of animosity towards her that was not possible even for me. And I am someone that knows how to hate, how to exact my revenge, and how to do it in a flamboyant manner.
It was then that Dantalian didn’t believe a single word of mine. Her hand which was holding onto an ice spear, was grabbed by the right hand of Remira.
Much to Dantalian’s horror, who never expected anything like this to happen, not ever imagined for Remira to still have some will to fight back.
Though, those thoughts of horror remained only for a second, as years of battle instincts took over Dantlian’s mind, as a sword made out of ice cut apart the hand, before she slid in the icy floor to the back.
"What is it this time, wraith?" She asked me, who too didn’t have any answers. But considering the true identity of Remira that I found in the dream. And the thing I just noticed now, I had some inkling of what was happening.
But for a tongueless me, I was wondering how to word it out. Though, there was no need for those words to begin with, as the broken hand with an ice blade stuck to it cracked and moved, pushing away the blade, before it fixed itself back in its place.
Then, as Remira got from her place, her body mutated, and morphed into something bigger.
Like a beast, she moaned and faced the icicles of Dantalian head-on. But even when they penetrated the head of Remira, none of it had any impact on her, as icy fur also started to grow on her body.
Breaking her clothes and abandoning her humanity.
Her moans turned more beastly by the seconds, more horrific, causing countless eyes to turn to her. Making many people gasp in shock and fear at what they were seeing.
Even Maisel on the side wondered whether this was a good thing or bad, but with his years of experience, he chose to put it under a bad one. An unexpected variable is always dangerous. He had learned this firsthand from his past.
As for Dantalian, she started to laugh. "A last struggle?" She didn’t feel the same anger and gaze I felt, the horror of the being that resided in Remira had locked onto Dantalian. Which made me understand what her fate was going to be.
Then as expected, the beast grew bigger and bigger, much bigger than the legends I have heard. While the icy hair on it turned flame-like, which was much more bizarre and odd than expected.
An Icy chilliness filled with purity.
A purity that was very much familiar.
"Haha, I can’t believe this... " Though no eligible words came out of my mouth, I was truly happy seeing something so special, so unexpected.
Truly a perfect wild card, bringing enjoyable chaos to the world.
For who would have imagined this was possible?
Who would have thought, Remira would gain such a boost in strength?
Isn’t she like one of those heroes? That one hears in a legend about. One who gets stronger in the face of adversity?
Truly a woman born with the Hero template.
But, this was not a storybook.
A hero never always wins.
And this was proven by the spear of ice that rose from the floor where Dantalian once stood, piercing the body of Remira, who just grew out a new left hand.
No, calling it a claw would be more appropriate.
"A bigger target is easy to kill," Dantalian said, unaware of the being she was fighting. Nor did she notice how the two eyes of this giant wolf-like beast, merged to form a single eye.
A blind eye cannot see the material world, but it can see things that were not visible to the naked eye.
She probably considered it to be a common lycanthropy. A werewolf that was common in the countryside. As for how wrong she was, a single howl from this wolf explained it in an instant.
The ice spear that penetrated the body of the wolf, turned into snow as it started to revolve around what once used to be Remira.
"What is this?" It was then that Dantalian noticed the singular eye without any life on Wolf’s head, as well as the cold that this wolf exuded. Making her understand that her enemy had a direct advantage over her at this moment.
So, without a single thought. Dantalian created a wall between herself and the beast before it reached her and then slid away from the scene, leaving the baffled Ramroa and his men along with Maisel and the beast whose power was reaching the levels that Dantalian never ever considered possible.
Though this wolf was a lot more intelligent than it looked, it didn’t pursue Dantalian, for this wolf had already caught her wi in her nose. Now Dantalia can never escape from her.
But the wolf also knew that where Dantalian was going, the enemies were much stronger.
So, giving one intelligent look to Maisel, letting him understand that Remira was still in control. She lunged toward the men who remained powerless toward an immortal wolf that ripped them in half with each of her attacks.
Leaving their entrails frozen in her wake.
"Hah, didn’t expect this to happen," Ramroa spoke, but there was no fear on his face. Being part of Blue Lotus and a master-level knight, he was already marked with the reincarnation circle and he believed himself to succeed in perfect reincarnation, just like Adam.
Or so, he hoped for it.
Which was why, the intensity at which he fought didn’t slow down in the least.
Instead, knowing that he doesn’t stand a chance anymore, he sped up and became more violent.
Though Remira didn’t mind it at all, abandoning any injury she might suffer, like a beast, she bit at Ramroa’s leg.
Stopping him in his place.
Followed by a fireball that blew up Ramroa’s head before he could even react.
"Wonderful... truly wonderful," I say in ineligible sounds, but Maisel didn’t turn toward me.
He just looked at what used to be Remira at a time, and when his eyes fell on Remira’s eye, he understood the surname of Wyrmwood was a lie.
"Do you expect me to follow you?"
He asked.
"Of course she is," I say, happily waiting for what chaos this change will bring.
