The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 92: Two Husbands

Chapter 92: Two Husbands

Finally, there was Xuan Jian, away from the rest of the servants, but still standing behind Xu Feng and Xuan Yang, a calm look on his face. The cold had melted away with the departure of the Xuans, but there was still restraint in his presence.

Xuan Jian was tall, his imposing figure contrasting with the serene look on his face. His long brown hair in a simple bun, cascading down his back, and his grey eyes, once icy, now held a certain warmth.

Xu Feng paused in his happy dance, his vibrant smile lighting up the early morning as the sun began to rise. It was a new day, and with it came the promise of change.

He made eye contact with the young master to his right, his intentions clear. He had no plans to be reserved. Xu Feng believed that everyone here could be trusted to some degree, and if they proved otherwise, it was best to find out sooner rather than later.

"Thank you for today, husband," Xu Feng said, still riding high on the Xuans’ departure. In a playful, flirty manner, he expressed his gratitude to the young master, temporarily unfazed by the presence of the others.

Xuan Yang was his husband in name, there was no shame in calling him husband, right?

Erlang was already blushing, but now two more faces joined his with a tint of red. Si and San were both flustered as they watched the scene unfold.

Xuan Yang nodded in acknowledgment, though he clutched the empty palm that had once held Xu Feng’s own, the warmth of their earlier contact fading.

Taking in a deep breath, Xu Feng turned his attention to both Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian. "Well, I think calling you ’husband’ will be too confusing. Does ’Husband Yang’ and ’Husband Jian’ sound pleasing to your ears?"

Xu Feng had his bold moments, and he could be unapologetically forward...occasionally. Mostly when alcohol was present. But even to his own ears, it sounded overconfident, and he secretly wished he could run and hide from the crowd that now stared at him with jaws dropped. Even the two imposing men, Jie and Bo, looked completely confused.

As he saw the shocked reactions of those around him, Xu Feng felt a sudden urge to abandon ship, to backpedal on the idea. He had hoped to elevate Xuan Jian’s status in his estate, allowing the two men to move around without the constraints of a master servant relationship. But perhaps, this wasn’t the right way to do it.

He considered that maybe he didn’t have the face for such a plan, that his bold approach was too abrupt, and he felt like his face wasn’t "big" enough for what he had just suggested.

With red ears, fidgety hands, and wandering eyes, Xu Feng attempted to downplay his earlier statement, and bring back his "young mistress" aura. Now, technically, he was the owner of this estate, the master of the house.

Before either of the men could respond, Xu Feng decided to assert himself. "According to the deed, I am the owner of this estate...so maybe we should drop the ’mistress’ title."

He said this less and less confidently as each word left his mouth, but still attempted to shift the conversation. His mind was racing with exit strategies, but the grins on Xuan Jian’s and Xuan Yang’s faces only grew brighter.

Xu Feng tried to make eye contact with Si as he addressed the crowd. Si had a weakness for gossip, but she wasn’t always as sharp as San, and he hoped that the implications of his words would go over her head.

"We’ll be addressed as Master Yang, Master Jian, or Master Feng going forward. This isn’t the Xuan property anymore."

But even Si had eyes as large as saucers, her mouth wide open. How much she understood was beyond Xu Feng, but she understood something.

With that, Xu Feng didn’t want to meet anyone’s gaze. He had said what he needed to say, and he wanted to hurry back to his room, to curl up under the covers, or perhaps retreat into his greenhouse—his personal sanctuary.

Clearing his throat, Xu Feng started to maneuver through the crowd of onlookers still gawking at him, intent on reaching the gate of the Nanshan estate. He successfully made his way past Xuan Yang, but then a pair of warm arms enveloped him, pulling him into their comforting embrace.

As Xu Feng looked up, he met deep grey eyes gazing down at him, a twinkle of affection sparkling within them. "Husband?"

Xu Feng’s crimson face stood in stark contrast to the vibrant surroundings of the Nanshan estate. The warmth of the morning sun seemed to amplify the rosy hue, making his embarrassment all the more obvious. It was as if nature itself united to reveal his emotions.

His eyes darted around, avoiding eye contact with anyone in his area, as if the dirt beneath his feet held a newfound appeal. The intricate patterns of his clothing, once a symbol of prestige, now seemed to mock his lack of finesse.

Despite the picturesque scenery surrounding them, the awkwardness of the moment was intense. The Nanshan estate, with its ancient trees and historic charm, had become a stage for Xu Feng’s unintentional comedy, and the spectators, even the birds in the trees, seemed to hold their breath in anticipation of the next act.

Xu Feng felt exposed, like the protagonist in a cringe-worthy comedy of errors, and he couldn’t help but wonder how he had managed to find himself in this surreal situation.

As he hesitantly contemplated his response, the world seemed to hold its breath, waiting for him to determine the course of this peculiar scene. All he could hear was the rhythmic beating of his own heart, each thump echoing his dilemma.

It was supposed to be a masterstroke, a solution to multiple issues. Yet, instead of achieving his goals, he had made a complete mess of things. Xu Feng thought that perhaps he wasn’t sly enough to be a fox demon – whoever was in charge of his transmigration should’ve gone with a monkey demon instead.

In his embarrassment, he wished he could just vanish, especially with those arms still wrapped around him. He didn’t even dare to look at Xuan Jian’s face, but he couldn’t avoid hearing Xuan Yang’s voice.

"Should Jian receive his kiss as a husband?" Xuan Yang’s teasing words hung in the air.
