The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 68: Curiosity

Chapter 68: Curiosity

Despite the relaxed atmosphere at the dinner table, Xu Feng couldn’t shake the questions that had been nagging at him all day. He knew he had to address them, even if it meant breaking the current mood.

Looking ahead, he considered that the Xuan family elders would depart the estate the next morning, and when they had an adequate number of servants to maintain the estate, Xu Feng, Xuan Jian, and Xuan Yang might not have another opportunity to converse like this for a while.

So, he steeled himself to disrupt the pleasant vibe.

As the men approached the end of their meal, their plates were remarkably clean, a testament to the charm of a good pepper. No bad peppers allowed.

Xu Feng’s neck throbbed intermittently. Ever since his outburst with the Xuan servants in the kitchen, he’d been experiencing occasional headaches. It was becoming evident that the situation was taking a more significant toll on him than he’d initially realized.

His fingers instinctively massaged the sore spot, providing some relief from the throbbing discomfort. "I’d like to learn more about the immortal bloodline and why my body is reacting so strangely," Xu Feng admitted.

He chose not to reveal the fact that this body wasn’t originally his and that many aspects of the ger experience remained foreign to him.

Despite inheriting Xu Zeng’s memories and benefiting from his dad’s careful training during the previous owner of this body’s life, there were still many missing pieces in the puzzle of his understanding.

Xu Feng couldn’t deny the persistent surge of desire that seemed to overtake him, especially in the presence of the two men seated at the table with him.

His body’s responses were nearly relentless, more than just youthful vitality amplifying his passions to the extreme.

This was beyond the extreme.

Despite having "indulged" in late night encounter the night before, during his mid day nap, he still had a colorful dream.

While youth was certainly a time of vigor and heightened sensations, the unsettling part for Xu Feng was the sense of losing control over his own desires.

Xu Feng’s curiosity knew no bounds as his mind raced through a series of questions, eager to unravel the mysteries that shrouded the world he now inhabited.

He was determined to comprehend the scales scattered on the bodies of Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian, as well as the intricacies of the immortal bloodline that seemed to dictate their lives.

He hungered for knowledge about the territory of Donghua beyond the confines of Nanshan estate, curious for a deeper understanding of the realm he resided in.

He had no illusions of being a princess in a golden cage or a glass castle. The desire to bridge the gap between his limited understanding and the broader world outside was eating at him.

"I want to know more about your scales, and why your family is okay with me being a village ger," he voiced.

Logically, with how self-righteous the Xuan’s were, Xu Feng shouldn’t even be allowed to enter their door. The promise of the estate and land was too generous.

There must be some manly looking gers with a better background than a village ger somewhere in all of Donghua.

Although he had pieced together fragments of information through deduction and observation, he wanted clarity and confirmation from those who could provide answers.

His initial assumption that he could easily contain his libido until his and Xuan Yang’s next night time meeting was beginning to collapse.

What if he had colorful dreams every night?

What if he started getting handsy or even more perverted than yesterday?

Touching the young master’s chest was fun and all, but he did believe in personal space. Respecting other people’s boundaries was non-negotiable, and he didn’t know Xuan Yang enough nor were they in a real committed relationship.

Any "hands-on" flirting needed consent.

Also, would he always be this sex crazed lunatic even after the divorce? Could the Xuan’s use their influence to force him to marry?

As Xu Feng posed his questions, his face became a canvas of curiosity, anxiety, and determination. His silvery locks—which he let down after cooking—framed his face like a shimmering halo, cascading around his shoulders and flowing down to his waist as he leaned in, eager for answers.

Furrowed brows accentuated his inquisitive gaze, emphasizing the gravity of his inquiries. His eyes, which had the uncanny ability to switch between mischievousness and sincerity, were now a reflection of earnest curiosity, locking onto his companions with unwavering intensity.

"Those are the most pressing concerns on your mind?" Xuan Yang was curious.

These were reasonable worries, but it also seemed like the ger was welcoming the divorcee title, it was odd, and the stifling feeling deep in his chest grew.

Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang were both in their own world’s but they were feeling similar things. Puzzlement and a bit more?

Xuan Jian chimed in, his mask of indifference slowly returning. "You don’t have any other questions?" he added.

Xu Feng was oblivious to the change in mood, it was a bit less bright as the atmosphere dimmed slightly, but nothing too significant. Everyone still had their barriers up; expectations weren’t too high. They were all smart men.

Xuan Yang, ever the scholar, was ready to share some knowledge with the ignorant village ger. He had promised to make sure Xu Feng wanted for nothing; he should keep his words. He intended to uphold that commitment.

Xuan Yang found himself in a somewhat uncomfortable position, not knowing where to start. He looked toward Xuan Jian who had returned to a stoic iceberg, seeking guidance or maybe a lifeline to navigate this topic.

Xu Feng, on the other hand, calmly sipped his tea, allowing Xuan Yang the time to collect his thoughts and compose himself. The room hung in a brief, expectant silence before Xuan Yang finally spoke.

"Regarding your body," he began, his voice measured and thoughtful, "it is likely due to the purity of your inheritance..."

The rest of his words hung in the air, and despite his attempt to mumble them softly, they remained distinctly audible to the other two men in the room. "It’s perplexing to see someone with such a potent bloodline purity leading the life of a farmer."
