The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 476: Precious Cargo
Chapter 476: Precious Cargo
There was something off... something just wasn’t right.
Not the carriage moving towards the unknown. Not the delirium clouding his judgment. Not the heat burning over his body and the sensations he had no time to indulge in. Not the fact that Xu Hu Zhe was nowhere to be found. Not the fact that Bai Mo barely flinched as he chucked all their belongings; valuable and even more valuable, into thin air.
...Well, those things would normally be concerning, but it was more than that. When he pushed the cargo including his beloved little nephews and his dad’s memorial tablet into the space there was a feeling...
It was fleeting, but Xu Zeng felt like there was something he was missing. Just by a little teeny bit, but something was missed.
"What was that?" One of the two men driving the carriage spoke up causing both Bai Mo and Xu Zeng to quiet down.
They had ignored them earlier, but it seemed the man felt they were far enough away from the main path at this point. It didn’t matter anymore if they kept silent.
It wasn’t like there was anything left in the carriage other than their bodies, it wasn’t too difficult to remain still.
...
"Are you afraid, One Eye?" A man’s low voice questioned patronizingly in response to the first voice. "It’s only a bunch of pampered gers in there, what are you afraid of?"
"Hehehe," The first man chuckled unconvincingly, "They’re gers, but didn’t the boy say they were immortal bloodline carriers?"
"What of it?" The second man deliberately raised his voice as if to get a rise out of the two gers they had just kidnapped. "If they were anything special, there’s no way their families would let them travel with only one man and no other protection."
"Ye..yeah" The first man was more withdrawn and wasn’t convinced in the slightest. He wasn’t a good actor either.
"You’re hesitating now, but when it’s time to spread their legs, you’re going to fuss and fight to be one of the first to shove your meat stick inside them!"
"You say it like you like going after Brother Ogre! His prick is so big, it’s never a good thing to go after him. All the gers and women are always half dead after he gets a turn."
"HAHAAHAHAH!"
"Don’t Laugh Brother Fang!"
Whatever else they said was like the whispers of the wind, just a flow of sound that was completely unintelligible. Xu Zeng was revolted. These were the worst kinds of humans, no the worst kinds of creatures, ones that took advantage of those they felt they could overpower.
They captured two "gers" of immortal bloodlines who may or may not be a match for two regular men depending on their bloodline purity. By the confidence they showed, not even checking the carriage when they made obvious jostling noises, they were confident in getting away with their prize.
It would be more reassuring if he knew where Xu Hu Zhe was, or at least that the other was safe... but at least Momo was safe. For now, he needed to make sure the fox stayed safe, and they got away from these bandits in one piece.
Xu Zeng’s mind was wandering, would he be able to take the two men in this state? He would have tried if he was alone, but the face beside him froze the demon beast in his tracks.
Today was not the day to test his body’s strength, especially in this state. They still didn’t know what happened to Xu Hu Zhe. If they had overpowered him, Xu Zeng had no chance with his ger body.
Xu Zeng’s heart sank as he turned to face Bai Mo, expecting to find the brave and steadfast fox from Sun Village. Instead, he was met with a sight that sent a chill down his spine. Bai Mo’s face was drained of color, so pale that he resembled a ghost haunting the dimly lit carriage.
The vibrant red of his hair seemed muted in the fading evening light, and his ears lay flat against his head, a contrast to their usual perky and wiggling state— showing off all his emotions to the world.
The transformation was so sudden, so jarring, that Xu Zeng felt a pang of fear grip his own heart. It was as if the essence of the fearless fox had been stripped away, leaving behind only a shell consumed by fear. The sight shook Xu Zeng to his core, a knot tightening in his chest.
"Don’t be scared," He whispered, unconsciously moving toward his fox, wrapping his hands against the other, "I’m here. I’m here with you."
It wasn’t an option before, it hadn’t crossed his mind, but seeing Bai Mo’s fear, Xu Zeng realized he did have an option, and he would take it. With the fox against his body, he channeled his energy and began to focus on changing his body.
The laughter and crude words of the two bandits were drowned out. Whatever they had to say would never come to pass, not while he still drew breath.
He didn’t want to show the one in his arms such a sight so early in their partnership, but he didn’t have a choice. Even if he did, he would choose to keep their lives, than keep some sort of foolish pride.
If Bai Mo thought of him differently after witnessing his forced shift, then they would deal with it. Right now, he chose to hold the other close as his body began to warm at an accelerated pace.
"Do..Don’t be scared." Bai Mo barely got out as he wrapped his shaking hands around Xu Zeng’s small waist.
He was clearly the scared one, but he still remembered to be a good older, responsible lover... Xu Zeng smiled as the pain rushed over him. He had enough energy for the shift, but the rapid shift would always be painful even if he had an abundance of energy.
It was like the breaking and reforging of bones, the ripping and restitching of skin, and the boiling and freezing of blood all in tandem, no ebbs and flows. It was constant agony, painful extremes layered on top of each other.
Xu Zeng bit his lip as he held Bai Mo, it started out as a comfort for the fox— and a way to keep the other from staring at the gruesome scene about to unfold— but turned into one for himself.
It wasn’t always like this. The shift could be painless if one let it happen in its own time, but the rush made it unbearable. The two or so minutes felt like at least half an incense stick of time had passed.
He traded 2 minutes of agony for 10 minutes of slow but nearly painless shifting. Time couldn’t be wasted, the look on Bai Mo’s face told him that. The situation was serious, and no matter what he was going through, Xu Zeng knew he couldn’t be willful now. He couldn’t send Bai Mo into the space, this was the best choice.
Again he despised the barren continent they were stuck on. If they were in an energy-rich world, he could shift freely without such agonizing pain. There would be enough energy to make even a speedy shift painless. With practice and an abundance of energy, came perfection.
"What is that smell?" The stench of blood and the wetness between their two bodies seemed to shock Bai Mo out of his scared state.
As he tried to pull away to get a better sense of where the "smell" was coming from, Xu Zeng pulled Bai Mo close for another heartbeat. The closeness hurt, but his body was healing at an unimaginable speed. It was a skill probably only he and Xu Feng had, their healing was incredible.
Would Da Long and Xiao Long inherit this skill? He would need to make it out of this situation alive and see to their hatching to find that out.
Xu Zeng knew the odor the fox was surrounded by was the smell of his own blood brought to the surface as he shifted too quickly from his ger form to his male body. It was only temporary, but he wanted to keep Bai Mo from seeing his bloodied form.
The fox was kept from seeing the shift in its entirety, but he wasn’t going to be kept in the dark any longer. Bai Mo’s hands moved curiously around the less small "small waist." Even the chest felt different—bigger somehow and a bit more... firm?
The shifting of the bones of the man in his arms hadn’t escaped Bai Mo’s notice, but he didn’t understand what he’d just felt. He was caught up in their situation, but the combination of the bloody smell, the foreign feeling of the other body, and the abrupt stickiness between their two bodies was too much to ignore.
Pulling away Bai Mo looked Xu Zeng up and down. His mouth naturally dropped.
