The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 41: Drunken Truth

Chapter 41: Drunken Truth

In the candle-lit room, Xu Feng could feel his heart race as the young master leaned in closer, his warm breath grazing the nape of Xu Feng’s neck.

It started like a light flutter, like feathers dancing on the skin. The hairs on his neck stood on end, responding to the gentle caress of his breath.

Xu Feng’s breath caught in his throat, and his senses sharpened. It was a tingling that spread slowly, like water ripples.

His eyelids fluttered as the tingling sensation deepened, it was like time had suspended, and the world had narrowed down to this one point of contact.

Xuan Yang repeated himself with a lowered voice, "Focus."

A shiver of excitement raced down his spine, awakening an animalistic desire that was dormant within him. He clutched the deep red robes of the other man.

Instead of butterflies in his stomach, it felt like a caged beast, lurking in the shadows of his consciousness, ready to break free and consume everything in its path.

Their gazes locked in an intense embrace, lightened only by the flickering red candles casting dancing shadows in the dim room. The air was thick with a hazy tension.

"The girls..." Xu Feng trailed off, questioning.

Even if he felt like he was in heat, there was absolutely no way, he wanted to do a voyeuristic play with minors. Not for during his first time or his last time.

Xuan Yang’s head shook solemnly as he maintained his unwavering gaze on the festively decorated Ger. He’d discreetly relieved the two girls stationed near the bridal chamber, in front of Xu Feng’s normal bedroom. They should be back in the servant’s quarters of the courtyard by now.

"Xuan Jian?" Xu Feng was questioned with a calm voice tinged with a bit of curiosity.

Xuan Yang’s eyebrows rose, curiously, as if assessing the situation. It was obvious from the start that the Ger found Xuan Jian attractive.

Xuan Yang’s jaw clenched as his thoughts ran wildly for a while. He couldn’t pinpoint what exactly troubled him the most.

The shadows from the candlelight continued to play on their faces, casting them in a surreal dance of shadows or secrecy as their emotions swirled and tangled.

Xuan Yang took a deep breath, trying to rein in his emotions. The wine hadn’t been helping, and he needed to regain control of himself. The aroma was intoxicating.

"Should you be calling another man’s name on this night?" He asked, his tone steadier now.

Xu Feng met Xuan Yang’s gaze, fully aware of the boundaries, despite his body’s readiness for the evening.

"He can wait in the outer room if you’d prefer," Xu Feng suggested after a moment. He was a third wheel for the time being, but he didn’t want to actually wreck the home. "...so you don’t feel uneasy."

Xuan Yang’s jaw hung open slightly in disbelief.

He briefly questioned if his own ears were working properly, had they accumulated too much wax?

As a young master, he had taken careful care of his body, especially in preparation for this wedding night—an heir could only be a good thing. Certain traditions had to be upheld, whether the marriage was one of power, convenience, or love.

"Un...unsafe," Xu Feng stammered in response, the word barely escaping his lips.

A faint, almost unnoticeable laugh escaped into the quiet room, barely heard by the two somewhat awkward men in the red-decorated bed. Soon, the owner of the voice made his way over to the two red-clad men who seemed intoxicated—mostly the Ger.

Xu Feng’s face was flushed with embarrassment, though not because of his words, but rather from the judgmental gaze coming from Xuan Yang and the small smile on Xuan Jian’s. "You find my sincerity amusing?" he asked, his voice carrying a hint of defensiveness.

"The young master and I will indeed consummate this marriage, but there is nothing deeper between us," Xu Feng continued, taking Xuan Jian’s appearance as nothing too strange, his words slurring only slightly.

He wasn’t necessarily a sloppy drunk, maybe just a dramatic and romantic one.

"There are layers, like these hard-to-wear wedding robes. But your love surpasses all these layers. Your love can transcend them. If this was a BL, you would be the ML, and Xuan Jian, you would be the MC. Two ill-fated lovers..."

As Xu Feng rambled on slowly and with many strange words, elevating the two star-crossed lovers to an almost divine status, Xuan Yang’s face remained frozen in astonishment.

Xuan Jian listened to the rambling with no end in sight before locking eyes with his partner. There was a silent understanding, an unspoken language built on trust. He only came in to stop the bickering of the newly married couple, but Xuan Jian stumbled in on something deeper...

"He is the moonlight that lights your night, I understand," Xu Feng continued, oblivious to the exchange between the two lovers. "I mean, I’ve never experienced that kind of love, but I hope to find it one day. For now, though, I’m just a distraction for outsiders. Once the baby is born, you can rid yourself of this interloper."

The room seemed to hold its breath in the wake of Xu Feng’s speech. At this moment of silence, Xu Feng looked between the two men as the world seemed to slow down, from the young master in bed with him, to the iceberg standing at the foot of the bed.

Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian exchanged glances. It was a moment of truth, and Xuan Yang had too many conflicting feelings, he’d momentarily lost himself in the aroma, but now he was awake and stunned.

Xuan Jian spoke first, his voice calm but carrying a hint of heat. "He didn’t just find out, but it’s your choice."

Xuan Yang nodded; his gaze fixed on Xu Feng. "We have a contract," he said, his voice tinged with a mixture of uncertainty and relief.

No matter what happened after tonight, they had an agreement, both parties were here to gain something. If the Ger really knew about them the entire time, Xu Feng had never said anything or tried to get anything from either of them.

They would just need to make sure he didn’t drink in public.
