The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 345: I Miss...
Chapter 345: I Miss...
Xu Feng’s gaze drifted, lost in thought, as the implications of the state of their finances settled on him. ’Should he start hunting?’
He always wanted to learn martial arts, but maybe learning to use a bow and arrow or even a spear or something like that would be epic. It would also bring in some silver for their household.
Even if they traveled, it would be a good source of income...There were so many trains of thoughts and so many possibilities. One after the other they merged and intertwined.
If he could use some kind of weapon, maybe he and Momo could go scavenging deeper in the woods again. Momo seemed to enjoy their little adventure as much as he did...before they were bullied by the monstrous boor.
Xu Feng’s mind was full of money and...Momo(?), but his husbands were in a different frame of mind.
The shock on Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang’s faces mirrored the sudden resolution to a problem that had occupied their thoughts throughout the night.
Letters had been drafted and abandoned, discussions had been held in the late hours, and yet, in a moment of simple brilliance, Xu Feng provided the answer.
The atmosphere shifted as Xuan Yang leaned in, his lips meeting Xu Feng’s with a softness that spoke volumes. It was a tender gesture, a silent acknowledgment of the relief that washed over them.
Xuan Jian followed suit, placing a lingering kiss on Xu Feng’s forehead, a touch that held a mixture of gratitude and affection.
The kisses, though simple in their execution, lingered with Xu Feng. His fazed out expression gradually transformed into a smile, appreciating the unspoken appreciation and love he was receiving randomly.
As the warmth of the kisses lingered, Xu Feng, a well known mischief maker in every right, couldn’t resist injecting a touch of humor or thirstiness, into the moment.
"I was going to ask for sexual favors in return, after that first kiss, but..." ’That might be ruining the moment.’ He playfully remarked, more than hinting at his request sexual favors, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
Well, he already ruined the moment...might as well get a favor in return.
The comment elicited a reaction from both Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian, with the former shutting his eyes in mock disapproval and the latter bursting into unrestrained peels of laughter.
The banter continued, with Xu Feng admitting his unquenchable thirst was still present, but he missed Momo too! Also his cheap brother, but they hadn’t discussed Xu Zeng yet.
"I don’t know if it has to do with pregnancy hormones," Xu Feng continued ignoring the questioning look in Xuan Yang’s eyes at the word hormones
. The man was smart enough and could use context clues to understand, he was venting here. "but, I miss Momo. A. LOT.""I don’t have any friends or family other than Xu Hu Zhe and the girls, and they treat me like I’m porcelain, they’re almost worse than you two." There was visible displeasure in his eyes. So much love, but he couldn’t do anything, or talk about anything fun.
"Is this how caged animals feel? I know I shouldn’t be ungrateful, but still..."
The silence in the greenhouse didn’t stretch out for very long like Xu Feng thought it would. His heart was pounding as he complained. He was so ungrateful. He had both men’s love, and they both valued his opinion, but he was still complaining.
He was the absolute worst. But, Xuan Yang didn’t seem to think so.
"We’ll go see Bai Mo as soon as you’re out of confinement." The response was direct, and perfectly so, sending a love shot to Xu Feng’s heart. "If he’s still in the capital, we’ll stay for a while. Whether it’s with the Xuan household, or in a borrowed manor on the outskirts of Jinghua."
It became a civil, normal, conversation for the two men, but it was more than that for Xu Feng. Should he be excited or numb? He couldn’t really tell what he was feeling other than love, extreme love.
"We’ll need to make some preparations for the children, but it would be a good outing..." Xuan Jian started but Xu Feng finished, "...as a family."
Xu Feng’s thoughts drifted to Bai Mo, his best friend and the only ger he knew and trusted outside of the Nanshan Estate, as he reflected on the protective nature of the two men beside him.
The term "wild animals," playfully coined by Bai Mo, resounded in his mind, it completely described the untamed, yet caring, essence of Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang.
Despite their overprotective nature, these men didn’t dismiss Xu Feng’s feelings or confine him to a cage. However, during his pregnancy, a sense of confinement had crept in, driven by the need to protect and ensure the safety of their growing family.
As plans for their first overnight family outing unfolded in real time, Xu Feng found himself overwhelmed with emotions, a mixture of anxiousness and anticipation.
The weight of a long held secret pressed on Xu Feng’s heart. He had spent considerable time contemplating how to reveal the truth about Xu Zeng to Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang.
Telling Xu Hu Zhe was easy, but he was scared about how the two men in his life would react to everything.
The fear of their reactions, particularly Xuan Jian’s, had kept him hesitant. The uncertainty about Xuan Jian’s true identity outside of Dongzhou, coupled with the potential danger it might pose for him and Xu Zeng, had been a source of anxiety.
However, in this moment of trust, Xu Feng felt an intense shift. The idea that Xuan Jian might be a double agent hunting him and his brother now seemed unbelievable. The depth of his love and commitment had become evident, dispelling Xu Feng’s lingering fears.
It was like a bottle of distilled ’fear be gone.’
If Xuan Jian truly was a double agent, he was very talented. So talented Xu Feng didn’t mind selling his soul for this love.
Without further hesitation, Xu Feng decided to unburden himself and share the secret that had weighed on him for so long. With a sudden burst of courage, he blurted out, "I have a secret." The admission hung in the air before Xu Feng unveiled the deeper layers of his and his brother’s past.
The air in the building seemed to thicken as Xu Feng prepared to share a secret he had guarded closely over the past few weeks. He took a deep breath, his gaze shifting between the two men who had become his world.
The lighting in the greenhouse seemed to dim and cast shadows on his face, adding an air of gravity to the looming revelation.
"I have a secret," he repeated, his voice steady but carrying a weight that made both Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang turn their full attention to him.
He continued, "My younger brother’s name is Xu Zeng. That was why in Sun Village, Iwent by the name Xu Zeng." The words hung in the air, and he watched as confusion and surprise flickered across the faces of his lovers.
Xuan Yang, always thorough and calculated in his advances and retreats, furrowed his brow. "We researched the Xu family thoroughly. There was no mention of or records with a history of a second child."
Xu Feng nodded, his eyes never leaving theirs. "Xu Zeng is my younger brother, but we haven’t led the life you might expect brothers would. We are twins, more than twins. We are two...demon beasts or maybe I should say, immortal beasts, hatched from eggs...originating from a secret realm."
A pregnant pause followed his almost robotic words. The gravity of what he was saying sank in as the room filled with an almost surreal silence.
Xuan Jian’s eyes widened, a slow realization dawning upon him. Xu Feng could see the pieces falling into place in this lover’s mind.
"We are the two demon beasts that brought chaos to this realm even before we were hatched," Xu Feng continued, his tone steady. "Somehow, we made our way to Dongzhou before hatching."
"I wanted to make sure my brother has a place in this world even if something happened to me. That’s why I changed my name from Xu Zeng to Xu Feng. It’s also why I added Xu Zeng’s name to my own family registry when I added Xu Hu Zhe, Xu Si, and Xu San."
Xuan Yang’s expression was a mix of disbelief and astonishment. "Secret realm?" he questioned, his analytical mind trying to process the fantastical revelation.
Xu Feng nodded, his eyes reflecting a mixture of vulnerability and determination. "Yes." He waited for Xuan Jian’s questions or his next move, anything. And it came.
"Where is Xu Zeng?"
This was the right question. The heaviest question. Xu Feng had told them about Xu Zeng, but where was he now? This answer would put together even more pieces of his puzzle.
They might even realize a time or two, when he was especially distant, it wasn’t Xu Feng at all. It was in fact Xu Zeng.
