Chapter 312: In The Cellar

As Xu Feng continued to savor the spicy grape jelly, his mind buzzed with plans for the future. He was determined to make a substantial income, and his ambitions were anything but small.

While he knew competition might arise in the future, he remained unfazed. If he could make some profits this year, it would provide a substantial advantage for what he had in mind next year.

His thoughts turned to his greenhouse, a place where he could exercise his unique wood abilities to nurture special fruits. These fruits would not only be delicious but also carry an inherent energy, making them even more appealing to nobles and those with immortal bloodlines.

With the right cultivation techniques, he could produce fruits unlike any other in Donghua, and fruit product no one could compete with.

There would always be a market for his products, if he played his cards right.

However, he understood the importance of maintaining anonymity in this plan. His name couldn’t be directly connected to the business. He needed to operate behind the scenes, quietly making a fortune while remaining in the shadows.

His ultimate goal was to incorporate his wood ability nurtured ingredients like Dragon Chrysanthemum petals—that were already priceless when found in the wild of inferior quality—into all his jams and wines.

The benefits of such products would be priceless to the wealthy in Donghua and possibly extend to all of Dongzhou. By creating exclusive, high quality goods, he could produce less and earn more.

The proclaimed salted fish was turning into a businessman for the sake of his unborn children, a younger brother, and his family in Nanshan Estate.

As he contemplated his master plans, Xu Feng took another spoonful of the spicy grape jelly. Its unique flavor delighted his pregnant palate, and he couldn’t help but wonder if his non pregnant self would find it equally delicious.

The grapes in this era were not as sweet as those in modern times, making the savory concoction a perfect balance.

Alone in the cellar, Xu Feng relished the peace as he stuffed his face without a care. He knew that Xu Hu Zhe, his current shadow, had scurried off somewhere, likely to spend time with the animals outside Blooming Courtyard.

The thought of the giant teen tenderly stroking the stallions in the animal shed brought a smile to his face.

Xu Si, on the other hand, was likely busy in the craft room, working on new ideas for the upcoming eggs. Xu Feng had shared some designs for children, but eggs were a different challenge altogether.

The young girl’s creativity knew no bounds, and she had already sketched out a few ideas, drawing inspiration from both the current Donghua and the parallel universe where Dongmen existed (the rough sketches Xu Feng shared).

Xu Feng wasn’t particularly known for his creativity, but he was more than willing to encourage Xu Si’s talent. If she continued to show interest and dedication, there was a possibility of selling her creations above board in Jinghua in the future.

The prospect of further expanding his business plans only fueled his determination to succeed.

In the quiet cellar of Blooming Courtyard, Xu Feng hummed in excitement as he savored his small jar of jam, each bite better than the last.

As he scooped another spoonful of the savory grape jelly, the spicy notes mingled with the coolness of the cellar, creating a tantalizing contrast. Xu Feng’s silver hair cascaded over his shoulders, framing his rosy features and healthy complexion.

The gentle light filtering through the earthenware jars cast soft shadows across his round belly, which now occupied a significant portion of his frame.

With each spoonful, Xu Feng indulged. He really wanted to taste the wine as well, and his humming grew louder as he tried to distract himself.

Wine wasn’t good for children in the modern era. He didn’t know about eggs, immortal bloodline children, or demon beasts, but he would go with what he did know. NO WINE!

Unknown to him, his third little tail, Xu San, was in the bustling kitchen, diligently absorbing the recipes Xu Feng had recently created.

He knew the kitchen was her domain, and a place she liked to retreat to in the Blooming Courtyard when she wasn’t managing the other servants of the Nanshan Estate.

What Xu Feng wasn’t aware of was that Xu San had a specific purpose in mind today. She was busy adapting these recipes to create versions suitable for four- to six- month- old babies, depending on when Xu Feng’s eggs would hatch.

As Xu Feng polished off his sweet and savory treat, his thoughts drifted to his loyal "tails," and his chosen family in this strange and foreign world.

Xu Hu Zhe, Xu Si, and Xu San were all an integral part of his life, and he took huge pride in their growth and accomplishments. Their shared surname, Xu, reinforced the sense of family and unity that bound them together. They were yet another reason he was working tirelessly to secure their future.

In addition, he worked hard for his husbands, his brother in Dongmen, and their incoming children. There were so many people he wanted to cherish and nurture.

But his mortality was always in the background of his thoughts. The ancient world he found himself in carried grim realities, and childbirth, especially for a ger like him, was filled with danger.

Memories of Xu Zeng’s cheap "dad" and his tragic fate after carrying twins weighed heavily on his mind. It was one body and three lives. Would he be the same?

With these somber thoughts lingering, Xu Feng stared at his ring finger, which had swelled significantly in recent days. His rings, once snug and comfortable, now refused to fit.

He took another large bite of jam, the bittersweet taste on his tongue, a momentary distraction from his worries.

As he chewed, lost in thought, he suddenly bit into the side of his mouth. A sharp pain flared, and he exclaimed, "Ouch!"

The metallic tang of blood filled the air, a striking reminder of the fragility of life. Overwhelmed by fatigue, Xu Feng’s desire for a nap grew stronger with each passing moment, and the once beloved jar of jam lost its appeal.

His moods and hormones had never been stable in this body, but it was getting worse!

He wasn’t horny now, just depressed...
