Chapter 284: Can I Eat It?
What would he find? Junk.
He found junk!!!
His luck had run out. Too many good things had fallen into his lap. He had Xuan Jian, Xuan Yang, Xu Hu Zhe, Xu Si, Xu San, and now Xu Zeng. The transmigration gods were now taunting him!
Xu Feng crouched down in the rugged terrain; his gaze fixed on his curious "junk-like" discovery—a jagged piece of metal that lay before him. The object appeared dark in both color and aura, glistening with an uncanny allure in the slivers of sunlight that pierced through the dense canopy above.
Its weight took Xu Feng by surprise, far heavier than he had anticipated for an item of its size, resembling a forearm sized shard of obsidian steel. He couldn’t lift the object without bracing himself.
Instead of repositioning himself in his crouched state, he decided to simply probe at it. As he reached out to touch it, a strange aura enveloped the metal, radiating an eerie, pulsating energy that seemed to resonate with Xu Feng’s senses.
Beside him, Xu Hu Zhe observed in silence, the silver haired ger’s fascination with the enigmatic artifact evident. But the taller Xu Hu Zhe didn’t seem to notice anything strange about the metal, and if he did, he didn’t say anything about it.
Slowly, the younger boy picked up the heavy piece of metal, his movements seemingly effortless, causing Xu Feng to roll his eyes in mild frustration.
’Piece of junk metal! Annoying overpowered muscle men!’ It wasn’t fair, how could the power levels between gers and men be so different. He was even one of the "chosen!"
Xu Feng couldn’t help but to roll his eyes again. If he wasn’t careful he might roll them all the way out of their sockets.
He wanted his original body back...but how would that work? Could he just do ’take backs’ with Xu Zeng? His brother might not want to live his life in a body he’d been having sex in...
Xu Feng calmed down immediately. It was like a bucket of ice had been poured over his head. He didn’t want to think about this particular problem...ever.
It was moments like these that made him resent the innate strength of the men in this world, their seemingly barbaric might allowing them to handle such weighty objects with ease.
The power discrepancies were between both the humans and those descended from the demon beasts.
The strange metal marked the second unusual item they had discovered in this peculiar terrain. Both objects had rested side by side, their combined pull intensifying the urge within Xu Feng to explore further.
It wasn’t until they were close to the snake’s nest where they found both objects, that he felt the two less intense and distinct pulls.
As Xu Feng and Xu Hu Zhe had ventured deeper into the rugged terrain, he found himself irresistibly drawn to the enigmatic artifacts that lay ahead.
The two items, the large dark metal shard and a small, overly dry white stone, were positioned side by side, almost as if they were strategically paired to amplify the magnetic pull they exerted on Xu Feng.
Or maybe a cultivator had lost their items here? Or maybe the two items developed in tandem with each other?
There were so many explanations, but no one for Xu Feng to ask about his theories.
It was clear that these objects shared a unique resonance with the rings he shared with his brother, intensifying the urge to explore further into the forest.
Just as they were about to uncover the source of this mysterious attraction, the underbrush had rustled, and as Xu Feng took a step forward, he nearly walked directly into the striking range of a monstrous snake.
Coiled within a concealed nest of leaves and foliage, the colossal serpent lay in ambush, guarding the junk treasures it had gathered.
The snake was an intimidating creature, its massive, flat headed form seamlessly blending with the surrounding terrain. Its scales bore a mottled pattern, an effective camouflage that rendered it nearly invisible on the forest floor.
The serpent’s hungry gaze fixed upon the intruders; its triangular head poised to strike with deadly precision. Xu Feng quickly realized that the snake was not only colossal but also highly poisonous, undoubtedly a product of this mysterious world.
In this unfamiliar cultivation realm, Xu Feng had witnessed many strange animals and plants in a short time, but the sight of this gigantic serpent left him awestruck.
The snake’s intent was unmistakable—it saw him as a potential meal and did not shy away from its predatory nature. However, before it could unleash its venomous strike, Xu Hu Zhe’s swift actions had come to the rescue.
With the hunting machete in hand, Xu Hu Zhe caught the serpent off guard, deftly striking it and incapacitating the creature before it could harm Xu Feng. The snake, now a lifeless, sprawling mass, had lost its life to the overgrown teen—thankfully for Xu Feng.
As Xu Feng’s hunger pangs began to grow, he couldn’t help but gaze back at the massive snake’s carcass. The two pieces of junk Xu Hu Zhe had stowed away in his back basket weren’t even remotely on his mind anymore.
He kept leering at the snake’s body as soon as it was finished off by Hu Zhe. It felt like he could almost smell fried chicken wafting in front of him...
He looked back at the huge carcass of the snake, more boldly this time. This was a cultivation world, but was it strange that instead of being afraid of the gigantic monster, he was suddenly hungry beyond reason?
The snake looked so delicious, its body at least twice the size of the girth of Xuan Jian’s thick thigh. Suddenly Xu Feng froze, his drool seeming to recede—going back into his mouth in reverse.
’Would Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang be upset with me if I ate their brethren?’ It wasn’t like he knew how to treat poisonous snakes, but he could...experiment...
