The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 240: Husband?
Chapter 240: Husband?
Xu Feng was done with secrecy and hiding his true self. It had become clear that his attempts at blending in and maintaining a low profile were not working, especially when he couldn’t even visit Yilin Town without an entourage of people.
Taking a deep breath, he decided it was time to burst the bubble of misunderstanding and reveal his true relationships. He turned to Xuan Jian, seeking confirmation, and gently rubbed Xuan Yang’s hand, silently asking for permission to continue. Xuan Yang’s hand clutched his own firmly but gently, radiating warmth and assurance.
With his other hand, Xu Feng hesitated momentarily about making such a public display of affection. However, Xuan Jian preemptively reached for his hand, intertwining their fingers and locking eyes with Xu Feng, silently conveying his acceptance of any role as long as it meant they could be open about their relationship.
If this was what they all wanted, if they were in agreement, then Xu Feng was ready to embrace it. The marriage contract should be brought to an end soon, and the Xuan family had plans to introduce him to Xuan Jian eventually.
"Xuan Jian is my..." Xu Feng paused momentarily, unsure of what title to give his second husband. Fortunately, he didn’t have to think for long, as Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang chimed in.
"His second husband," Xuan Jian declared boldly, and the crowd gasped in astonishment. "As with powerful ger and female immortal bloodline carriers of the past, Xu Feng possesses a purity of bloodline that necessitates having at least two husbands."
As the murmurs of shock rippled through the crowd and the onlookers stared at Xu Feng as if he were a two headed monster, Xuan Yang added scholarly knowledge to support their revelation,
"In the annals of history, among the first of the immortal bloodline carriers after the immortal beasts blessed the Dongzhou continent, there were two such unions that are clearly documented in the ’Book of Bloodlines’..."
As the revelation of Xu Feng’s relationships settled in, he found himself caught between the comforting presences of Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang. Their love surrounded him, and he could feel their support and understanding. It was a moment of cathartic release for Xu Feng, and he felt an uncharacteristic peace wash over him.
The dramatic turn of events had left Sun Ming Hua’s carefully crafted disguise in shambles. He stammered, unable to maintain his composed act any longer. The shock and disbelief among the onlookers were tangible.
Two husbands? Such a thing was basically unheard of in Donghua, and even with Xuan Yang’s specific historical references, it was a concept that challenged their understanding of relationships.
Sun Ming Hua clung to a lifeline, attempting to salvage his dignity. His eyes gleamed with determination as he questioned Xu Feng’s claim, "Are you even of immortal bloodline? Did you not deceive this man..." He hesitated before correcting himself, "...these men? They married you with your mole and silver hair in mind, but you’ve dyed your hair and mole!"
Xu Feng frowned at the tenacious ger who refused to accept defeat. He disentangled himself from the two men, standing tall and resolute, ready to deliver a final blow. Their lives were already laid bare before the people of Yilin Town; there was nothing more to hide.
Well, that wasn’t true...
Addressing Sun Ming Hua directly, Xu Feng raised his right hand into the air, his voice clear and firm, "I have addressed your first and third accusations. Now, let’s talk about the second one. I wore a disguise to the Xuicai exam to maintain a low profile." He gestured to his hair and mole, which he had intentionally altered for the exam.
"I dyed my hair brown and dulled my mole to avoid unnecessary attention and complete the exam in peace, although as we both know, that was not the case, thanks to your interference."
Sun Ming Hua’s denial and anger had reached a fever pitch as he lashed out with venomous words, refusing to accept Xu Feng’s explanation. His gaze turned unfriendly as he shot accusatory looks at both Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang, the men he had clung to just moments ago.
Xu Feng maintained his composure, countering Sun Ming Hua’s hostility with a calm demeanor. "Believe it or not," he retorted, "that’s not my concern." He continued, his voice tinged with annoyance, "
As the only young mistress of the Xuan family, it’s only natural for my husbands to want some privacy for me. Perhaps it’s time we consider returning to Jinghua. All this drama is becoming quite troublesome, and having to explain such trivial matters in public is rather backward."
The impact of his words was like the shattering of glass, loud, clear, and metaphorical.
The Xuan family.
An immortal bloodline family.
There was only one Xuan family, one young master of the Xuan family.
And now, there was only one young mistress of the Xuan family.
Sun Ming Hua stood frozen in shock, as if he had just witnessed a two headed monster.
His gaze shifted to the other individual beside him, the one he had been clutching onto moments earlier, the young master of the Xuan family himself, the academic prodigy renowned for winning fame and reputation for his family—Xuan Yang.
He was that Xuan Yang...
The realization slowly dawned on Sun Ming Hua, and he found himself in a situation he couldn’t have imagined. The truth was too surreal, too absurd for him to accept readily.
Two husbands? A young mistress of the Xuan family? It was a revelation that turned his world upside down, and he was left grappling with the shock of it all.
The crowd that had gathered around the spectacle began to disperse with an unnatural speed. It was as if a spell had been broken, and the realization had dawned upon them that they hadn’t come to witness the squabbles of third rate families in Yilin Town.
This was a clash of titans, a showdown between a third rate Yilin family and the prestigious first rate Xuan family from Jinghua.
The bystanders, even those with a liking for gossip, understood that it was time to disperse and save themselves from the fallout of this high stakes confrontation. The drama had reached a level beyond their comprehension, and they wisely retreated, leaving the battlefield to the principal actors.
