Chapter 223: Morning Bustle

Chapter 223: Morning Bustle

Vision of Xu Feng through Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang’s eyes:

As the pre dawn hours lingered, a hint of light began to seep through the edges of the window blinds, casting a soft, ethereal glow into Xu Feng’s chamber. In this delicate half light, Xu Feng’s face, the contours of his features softened by the gentle, diffused light.

A sense of anticipation danced in his half awake gaze, a silent promise of the day ahead etched in the subtle curve of his morning expression. His face, bathed in the delicate luminescence filtering through the window, held a serene yet expectant charm.

(This is a lie, he didn’t just wake up, he was brooding in bed for some time before he couldn’t handle it anymore).

There was an innocence in his morning demeanor, an unspoken excitement veiled behind the sleepy smokescreen. His features, softened by the pre dawn’s gentle embrace, exuded a quiet happiness that hinted at the day’s possibilities yet to unfold.

In the soft, muted light of early morning, Xu Feng’s expression shared the grace of a moment suspended in time—a tranquil anticipation painted across his face, reflecting the promise of a new day waiting just beyond the horizon.

----

Pretty privilege was probably a thing.

The two men were completely enthralled by the attractive ger even as he remained grumpy after fussing so early in the morning.

If anything, they were both worried about their cranky, "younger" lover with such a delicate disposition.

Despite taking Xuan Yang’s entire length without the raspy voice Xuan Jian had suffered after he attempted the same feat; it was the spewed seed that got in Xu Feng’s nose and on his face that seemed to cause the "rainbow" showers.

The silver haired ger was quite talented in bed, but was also very delicate and needed to be handled with great care and attention. Xu Feng wasn’t aware, but during their visit to Yilin Town today, he would be seeing Doctor Ping.

There would be no baby in their future, but Xu Feng still needed to be treated with care.

From Xu Feng’s perspective, he was excited to go into town today. He would possibly get to say goodbye to his friend Bai Mo before he traveled to Jinghua, and he could take care of some household affairs.

He would make sure all the t’s were crossed and the I’s dotted in case of an emergency. If he died unexpectedly, the three Xu’s in his care and the fourth Xu, whose body he was inhabiting would have contingency plans in place to take care of them.

While he wouldn’t admit it, Xu Feng was sore. Sore in one too many places. He’d healed himself during the clean up session the night before, and again a few times during his morning clean up.

He’d even exhausted the seeds he had set aside for his morning healing sessions. He would need to have Xu Hu Zhe bring some to his bathroom from the cellar.

The cellar was now off limits to most people since it was used to store the excess plants he infused with his abilities. Once harvested, these plants took a longer time to decay and were relatively frost resistant in the winter time.

Xu Si and Xu San could likely be trusted with this information, but Xu Feng wanted the two girls to have as little contact with the things that could get them in trouble. Xu Feng’s abilities were top on this list.

In the serene ambiance of his private chambers, Xu Feng stood before the ornate bronze mirror, its surface gleaming softly in the morning light filtering through the windows. His reflection stared back at him, showing the care he’d taken this morning.

His silver hair, elegantly combed and arranged simply, cascaded in glossy waves that framed his face with a magnificent air and drew attention to the glaring red mole in the center of his face.

Dressed in rich garments tailored for the spring—an outfit picked out by Xu Si the day before—the fabric draped flawlessly over his form, accentuating his youthful grace and vitality. The robes, a blend of tradition and modernity, spoke of a young master from a well bred family, radiating a quiet sense of refinement.

Despite the recent episodes of crankiness that had disrupted the calm of the estate, his smile reflected a genuine sense of contentment. It was a smile that echoed the sentiment of being cherished by those he held dear and loved—family, friends, and lovers who stood by him.

The benefits of his contract with Lady Xuan might be out of reach, yet Xu Feng pondered the idea of compensating her with some of the flora he cultivated. Maybe that would be enough to compensate for his home?

If it wasn’t Xu Feng would move out of the estate. Maybe he could con the Xuan ancestor at the back of the house to follow him if his space could be moved? This was thinking too far ahead, but it brought joy to Xu Feng.

Regardless, as he gazed upon his reflection, a sense of radiance emanated from him. It wasn’t just the external appearance, but a newfound internal glow—a reassurance that his life was indeed on the right path, boosted by the love and support surrounding him.

Breakfast was taken care of by Xu San.

The breakfast scene was set with utmost care by Xu San, who diligently repurposed the remnants from the previous night’s meal. The lingering aroma of the conge, a simple rice porridge, wafted through the air, its plainness evident in its pure white rice base, a departure from the usual blend of grains.

The addition seemed intended for Xu Feng, who had experienced a bout of "sickness" the night before.

The breakfast spread, though slightly less extravagant than usual, included simple buns filled with leftovers, a practical and resourceful creation. Xu San had prepared an ample supply of these buns, perhaps taking into account Bai Mo’s need for special sustenance on his upcoming journey.

However, Xu Feng’s usual insatiable appetite was conspicuously absent. His recent illness seemed to have affected his hunger, leaving him with a lingering discomfort in his stomach.

Despite his efforts, the sight and smell of his beloved mushrooms, now a part of the breakfast, brought a pang of regret. It was disappointing to see them included in a dish he could not yet stomach.

Gagging momentarily, he pushed through, forcing himself to consume the plain conge. His gaze shifted to Xuan Yang, Xuan Jian, and Bai Mo, who indulged heartily in the breakfast, savoring the flavors and textures.

All because of repressed air...
