Under the veil of a spring night, the Nanshan estate embraced a serene calmness. The moon’s soft glow lent an ethereal hue to the surroundings, casting gentle shadows upon the blooming flora that adorned the pathways.

The air was tinged with the scent of flowers in full bloom, their fragrances intermingling with the cool night breeze.

Beneath the canopy of stars, the group of four—Bai Mo and Xu Feng leading the way, with Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian following behind—walked through the winding paths from Blooming Courtyard to Budding Courtyard.

Their leisurely stroll wasn’t merely a means to aid digestion after the lavish meal, but also an opportunity to immerse themselves in the estate’s serenity, allowing Bai Mo to acclimate to the cool night and settle into the upcoming stay at Budding Courtyard.

It wouldn’t be appropriate for him to stay in such a small courtyard as Blooming Courtyard, with his married friend as said married ger friend’s husband (actually husbands, but same difference)!

The estate, swathed in the soft radiance of moonlight, appeared almost magical.

Before even beginning their trip out of Blooming Courtyard, the two gers had chatted some in the living room, and then toured other parts of Nanshan estate briefly. At this point, it was truly night, deep and dark.

Ahead, Budding Courtyard awaited—Xuan Yang’s private courtyard in name alone. Now it was prepared to accommodate Bai Mo for the night.

Xu San had efficiently overseen the room’s readiness, ensuring a comforting and welcoming atmosphere for their guest. Xu Feng’s "thoughtful" arrangements included Xu Si and Xu San staying behind to cater to Bai Mo’s needs, providing any required assistance or support, should the need arise.

Officially, they would be there to support Bai Mo and his servants as they stayed the night in a foreign compound.

Unofficially, Xu Feng was preparing to have his back blown out. Whether it was angry sex or just sex, sex, he was ready and plotting the night away.

As they crossed the estate’s meandering paths, Bai Mo took in the beautiful scenery, the stillness of the night settling comfortably around them. The journey from one courtyard to another was a spectacle even in the nighttime, he couldn’t understand how Xu Feng had cared for his estate so well.

’Did the plant here grow better because it was so close to the forest?’

The walk that followed the decadent dinner was stifling for some while it was relaxing for others. Not because of a certain silver haired ger had run off to the mountains with an even smaller and more pampered ger as his only companion. Instead, he felt daggers against his back, but not ones that left him nervous in a bad way. The entire time, Xu Feng was full of anticipation for the night. He had pushed a button in Xuan Yang that was new and a little scary.

The sadist was playing along with the masochist.

Maybe the snake didn’t like public displays of affection?—Xu Feng knew this was not a normal display of public affection, he shouldn’t have been rubbing on his snake’s little snake while sitting next to his friend. He was just ignoring the obvious.

But was that all there was to it?

25 days was a long time for a relationship only around 100 days old, but Xu Feng felt as though he could jump one or both his men even with company present. It almost seemed like whatever was left of his self respect had disappeared.

What happened? He had a bit of self control when they made it back to Nanshan estate, but since he and Bai Mo crossed the threshold, his will power was quickly dissipating. He could hardly hear the words coming from Bai Mo as they walked around Budding Courtyard.

The two men walking behind him had his full attention.

"Feng Feng?" Bai Mo questioned, still excited about whatever topic they should have been conversing on.

"Hmm?" Xu Feng replied, no shame, only slight confusion. His mind was not his own at the moment, but he needed to focus.

"Some of the mushrooms we gathered today have been noted in the books I was telling you about, but they don’t mention if the species are poisonous or not, and the method you used is not included anywhere. Not in any books I’ve read."

Momo continued, seemingly unaware of his friend’s hazy state of mind, instead he was focused on knowledge, and their activities earlier in the day.

His friend was skilled in so many ways, and he was always learning new things when he was around Xu Feng.

"In bigger cities, you can occasionally come across masters who distinguish certain mushroom breeds, but even then, mushrooms are a delicacy for the most noble of households and are often sold at a high cost..."

Bai Mo trailed off, his eyes darting from side to side. The previous academic spirit that shrouded him dissipated with a quickness. What was left was a cute appearance that he only seemed to display in Xu Feng’s presence.

The cute little fox to his side, did the trick, melting away the rotting thoughts in Xu Feng’s mind as a bright smile graced his face. ’Momo is so cute!’

Momo clearly had something brewing within, but didn’t know how to get it out. "Spit it out." Xu Feng added without ceremony. They were close enough to speak freely with each other.

"I want to take the things we found to Jinghua." Bai Mo said in a single breath before continuing, "I won’t give them all to the Bai and Deng clans. Just a bit. The rest I want to sell. You said you want to make silver for your household. This is a silver source too..."

Xu Feng paused for a moment glancing back at the two snakes who had stopped a ways out, giving the two gers space to bid each other good night nearer to the main house of Budding Courtyard.

"If you can help me with this business, we’ll share profits." Xu Feng raised his hand to Momo, he wouldn’t take no for an answer. "I know you’re not short of gold, but you will still get a cut. I want to sell more than mushrooms. More than we scavenged in the mountains."

Momo nodded before Xu Feng continued.

"If there’s anything edible and made from plants in Jinghua that is sold for a high price, make note for me."

Xu Feng ended this request with a blooming smile. Sex and money what a great combination, his brain was rotting at a rapid pace.
