The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 211: Momo, the Scapegoat

Chapter 211: Momo, the Scapegoat

In the quiet tension of the Blooming Courtyard, an obvious silence draped over the gathering. Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian tactfully skirted around the topic of Xu Feng and Bai Mo’s recent activities, avoiding any mention of their disheveled state.

Yet, despite the clear oversight, Xu Feng couldn’t turn a blind eye to the restrained emotions simmering beneath the composed faces of the trio of "wild animals." Their repressed feelings were like a looming presence, evident in their overly calm expressions and occasionally tightened jawlines.

There were one too many unspoken questions that lingered in the air, all loaded with unspoken implications. There was no way Xu Feng would get out of this unscathed.

When Xuan Jian reached over and retrieved a twig from Xu Feng’s hair, his face twitched involuntarily as he stared into the accusing gaze.

Even Xu Si and Xu San, known for their silent loyalty, couldn’t help entertaining thoughts tinged with suspicion. ’This Bai Mo, leading our Master Feng astray,’ echoed in their minds, an obviously fictional thought they all knew was untrue.

It was a convenient blame game, deflecting fault from the troublesome silver haired ger to his companion. Bai Mo, being a part of the mischief, unintentionally shared the weight of Xu Feng’s plan.

In the middle of the stifling atmosphere, Xu Hu Zhe visibly struggled to contain his emotions. After a few moments in the charged living room, he managed to compose himself and excused himself with a strained calmness, addressing Xu Feng, "Master Feng, your bath will be ready soon."

However, before Xu Hu Zhe could take his leave, Xu Feng cleared his throat, drawing collective attention once again.

"Momo...Bai Mo," he corrected himself with a quickness. With the clear term of endearment, the glares on his body became fiercer. The trio of ’wild animals,’ weren’t in the mood for any more provocation. "Will be staying overnight."

The tense air, which had momentarily eased, instantly stiffened again, the glares now sharp as daggers. Nevertheless, Xu Feng continued, outlining his plans.

"In the morning, I’ll go to town with Bai Mo, Xu Si, Xu San, and Xu Hu Zhe. Master Yang has already added the three, no four Xus to my family lineage, but I’ll officially enlist you as inheritors of my property and family name. In return, you three present must treat me and my mine as your own."

A heavy silence descended upon the courtyard, everyone caught in their own thoughts and reasons for silence. The mention of the fourth Xu was hardly on anyone’s mind.

Xuan Jian and Xuan Yang harbored similar doubts about the wisdom of this decision, having warned Xu Feng against it before.

They had stopped him from taking this final step before, what had happened to make the ger go back to this, what exactly had happened while they were playing at home?

Xu Hu Zhe was surprised by the implications behind Xu Feng’s actions. His thoughts took a different turn, ’the Master thought something would happen to him?’ His guard would need to be stricter, a situation like today couldn’t happen again.

Xu Si and Xu San, meanwhile, were grappling with their own conflicted thoughts—the previous thoughts no longer of import, their suspicion towards Bai Mo and silent understanding that the blame had to be shared was no longer on the forefront.

Xu Si was excited, and Xu San was making preliminary plans to make sure that Xu Feng would want for nothing, and his household would be even better managed, she would be worthy.

In Bai Mo’s heart, a quiet resolve settled in the middle of the tension. Though they were surrounded by both the large wild and smaller animals, his focus remained unswerving on keeping his promise to Xu Feng.

He understood the weight of Xu Feng’s trust, silently vowing to stand unwaveringly by his side, regardless of the challenges they faced!

As vivid images of the wild boars surged through Bai Mo’s mind, an understanding of Xu Feng’s genuine loyalty in the middle of a dangerous situation was made clear. Despite that intense fear, Xu Feng had fearlessly come to his aid.

This stirred an unyielding determination within Bai Mo—he owed it to Xu Feng to give his absolute best in Jinghua! With a flame of resolve burning in his heart, he made an unspoken pledge to strive for greatness. One day, the Bai and Deng families would bow in acknowledgment of Bai Mo’s accomplishments!

In the thick of the heavy air that permeated Blooming Courtyard, Xu Feng found himself drowning in the whirlpool of his own troubles. Even the usually accommodating Xu Hu Zhe appeared visibly upset, an unseen occurrence that spoke volumes about the tension in the room.

Seated on a shared couch, flanking Xuan Jian on his right and Xuan Yang flanking Xuan Jian on his left side, Xu Feng stole a glance toward his husbands.

His gaze settled on Xuan Jian, who, sensing the gaze, turned his attention back to Xu Feng. Normally, such an intense gaze might prompt a tinge of embarrassment, but Xu Feng had long buried any remnants of shame—thanks to the Xuan ancestor, who had thoroughly drained his reserves for the day.

Shamelessness had become his armor. How much more trouble could he get in?

With a purposeful smile directed at the handsome, grey eyed figure beside him, Xu Feng squeezed Xuan Jian’s hand gently before leaning in to whisper, "I’ll cook you and Yang something delicious today." His tone was accented by a playful wink, "You both need to recoup your stamina."

The implications of Xu Feng’s words weren’t lost on Xuan Yang, who shared the couch with them. His perspective widened as he observed the slight blush gracing Xuan Jian’s cheeks caught between them.

It was undeniable—this ger was truly shameless. And maybe, for the first time, Xuan Yang found himself appreciating the shameless charm that Xu Feng carried with such ease.

The tightness of his body eased. He would still have words with Xu Feng, but...

In that moment, Xu Feng seemed to exude an effortless charm that was distinctly his own, an internal glow that shone through without any inhibitions.

His silver hair, slightly tousled yet framing his face in an endearing way, caught the light in a mesmerizing shimmer. His eyes, bright and lively, held a mischievous glint within them, conveying an unspoken playfulness.

There was an air of confidence about him, mingled with a hint of audacity that seemed to draw attention without effort.

The curve of his smile was infectious, carrying a blend of warmth and teasing, reflecting the unapologetic and shameless persona he effortlessly projected. Xuan Yang couldn’t help the curve of his own lips.
