The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL]
Chapter 207: Released Into the Wild

Chapter 207: Released Into the Wild

In the presence of the ger, Dong Yang, though veiled by his impassive facade, couldn’t help but be stunned by the radiant beauty emanating from Xu Feng.

The aura that enveloped him was similar to a vision woven with the essence of spring itself—a masterpiece of colors, an ethereal glow that seemed to dance around him in an elegant, mesmerizing display.

Despite the overwhelming allure, Dong Yang maintained his stoic look, refusing to be swayed by the enchantment of the young cultivator’s charm. Yet, he couldn’t help but acknowledge the sheer radiance of the ger that encased Xu Feng—a vision so breathtaking that it almost demanded undivided attention.

He was already beyond physical lust, yet...

"Can this great cultivator tell me, how long have I been in this one’s realm?" Xu Feng tripped on the last word, not knowing what terminology would work with an old spirit.

However, the surreal beauty was disrupted by Xu Feng’s unabashed question, breaking the one sided atmosphere that surrounded them. His concern for his family tugged at Dong Yang’s unreadable demeanor, though he remained silent in response.

Just as Xu Feng resigned himself to the possibility of no reply, the resonant voice echoed in his mind once more. "22 nights," it declared, leaving Xu Feng wide eyed in disbelief, his ears ringing with the charming sound it didn’t actually hear.

He had been trapped within this strange space for three weeks.

Before he could spiral into deeper worry, the voice continued, playing tricks on his poor ears, explaining the disparity between time within the space and outside of it. Dong Yang’s words unveiled a peculiar truth—that while weeks had passed within this mystical domain, mere moments would have elapsed in the world outside.

Xu Feng’s astonishment gave way to a surge of excitement. The revelation meant that outside of this peculiar space, time had barely progressed. His loved ones at the Nanshan estate likely remained unaware, unalarmed by his absence.

The realization buoyed his spirits, injecting hope into the otherwise difficult situation. With this new understanding, Xu Feng’s mind began to race, contemplating the possibilities this time based discrepancy presented.

He had harnessed his energy, nourished his body with exotic, energy rich fruits, and mended the wounds that plagued him. But more than the physical healing, it was the revelations during this period that had the greatest impact on his perspective.

Xu Feng now understood the value of simplicity, the essence of appreciating every individual who walked alongside him in this intricate life he now had. From the youngest members of the Xu family—Xu Si, Xu San, and Xu Hu Zhe—to the duo of Xuan Yang and Xuan Jian, his acknowledged husbands, and even Bai Mo, his best friend, each person held their own struggles, their own battles fought in the recesses of their hearts.

This newfound understanding didn’t just alter his perception of those close to him; it extended to every soul that crossed paths with his life—be it the dedicated servants at the estate or individuals beyond its borders. Each carried their burdens, faced their trials, and navigated their own winding paths.

Xu Feng realized that while his battles were an essential part of his existence, they shouldn’t dictate the external manifestations of his interactions. The strength he had honed through everything he’d gone through since coming to Donghua was not meant to overpower the connections he held dear.

Instead, it was a guiding light, a source of power that allowed him to stand beside those he cherished, offering support rather than succumbing to the turbulence within.

He vowed to tread more lightly, to lend a hand where needed, to offer solace, understanding, and compassion. His battles would not render him blind to the struggles of others, nor would they cloud the genuine connections he shared with each person in his life.

His determination to leave the mysterious realm was palpable, etched into the lines of his face, the glint in his eyes that reflected an unyielding determination and an excitement he couldn’t hide. Even with all the spirit plants, and the increased energy in the cave, he would rather be surrounded by his people.

As if sensing the fervent desire within the silver haired ger, Dong Yang, the spectral being, found himself inexplicably compelled to aid the determined cultivator.

Though their contact had only spanned a mere three weeks, the excitement in Xu Feng’s face stirred something within the ancient ghost that he hadn’t anticipated. The determination of the young ger with dimpled cheeks tugged at a long forgotten empathy buried deep within Dong Yang’s spectral existence.

Acknowledging Xu Feng’s determination to depart, Dong Yang momentarily disappeared from the cave, leaving the ger briefly disoriented in the middle of the quiet space.

Confusion clouded Xu Feng’s features as he scanned his surroundings, puzzled by the sudden disappearance of the ghostly figure. This one didn’t like to communicate very much, a tad bit more introverted than Xuan Yang...

But just as swiftly as he vanished, Dong Yang reappeared, presenting Xu Feng with a ring held delicately in his ethereal hand. The gesture was somewhat dramatic, yet Xu Feng accepted the offering with a heart full of gratitude and confusion.

Whatever this ancient cultivator shared with him would undoubtedly hold significance. He hadn’t had much time to study the ring, but it resembled the ring he was currently wearing. The ring left by Xu Zeng’s dad.

In a display of the greatest respect, Xu Feng who was unaccustomed to bowing, bowed deeply to Dong Yang, expressing his sincere appreciation for the aid offered. All of it. As he rose from the bow, a shift in the surroundings enveloped him—a sensation of movement, a subtle displacement that signaled a transition.

When Xu Feng’s vision cleared, he found himself standing in a semi familiar part of the Nanshan forest. The absence of the menacing blue tinged boars was a relief, yet fresh markings on the ground indicated the "recent" confrontation that had happened weeks ago.

The familiarity of the surroundings hinted that he was mere moments away from where he had left Bai Mo three weeks prior. The green of the trees were no less green than he last remembered.

Everything seemed to be the same, but there was an extra ring on his finger. One that was cool like ice, with a silvery color and the other he had owned since he came to this world, one that was golden, warm, and calming.

Heart pounding with a mix of relief and determination, Xu Feng knew that this unexplainable experience had provided him with more than just a physical escape.
