The Ger's Contract Marriage [BL] -
Chapter 140: Strip Search
Chapter 140: Strip Search
Xu Feng’s confusion lingered as he faced the accusing gaze of Sun Ming Hua. He understood the other boy didn’t like him and he didn’t blame him for that. Everyone couldn’t be your friend, and he didn’t want to be everyone’s friend either.
What confused him, was how willful the other ger was. Was this imagined rivalry or slight worth so much effort to Ming Hua?
They had only met twice before today. Once in January, and the second time was briefly the day before. Even in the Central bookstore, they hadn’t ever spoken directly to each other.
Xu Feng knew he was young too, but young people really were tiring! He would rather get this over with so he could catch up on some missed sleep.
The crowd, watching Xu Feng’s short response, began to wonder if Sun Ming Hua had indeed caught a cheater in the act.
Xiao Pei, the lead proctor, observed the unfolding drama with lifted brows. If the unknown ger was caught, would he face consequences for failing to prevent such an incident during the morning searches or would he be praised for catching a cheater?
Xu Feng sighed, this was the quickest way to end this farce and get back to the exam. "It can’t be helped," he declared, "Let the entire courtyard be my witness that I didn’t cheat. I came fairly along with my fellow gers to test for the Xuicai title. I would never belittle the efforts of my peers in that way."
The faces of the onlookers mirrored a mix of confusion and judgment.
Before anyone could fully grasp the weight of his statement, a silver lined cloak cascaded to the ground, swiftly followed by a matching black, blue, and silver silk outer robe.
Xu Feng’s fingers moved with nimble precision. Uncertain whether the disturbance would grant them extra time to finish the exam, he moved as quickly as possible.
The courtyard buzzed with a mix of whispers and gasps as Xu Feng stood in the middle of his daring act, undiscouraged by the shocked witnesses.
The silver cloak and silk outer robe lay at his feet, revealing a lean yet defined frame clothed with light robes, perfect for the changing temperature of spring.
Bai Mo watched Xu Feng with a mixture of surprise and admiration. It was a bold move, but it was one that was in line with Xu Feng’s personality.
As someone hastily brought a robe to cover Xu Feng’s stripping form, Xiao Pei, struggled, stammering as he tried to regain control of the situation. "This is...! You cannot—"
As the unexpected strip tease continued, Xiao Pei’s face turned a noticeable shade of red. He was flustered as he found himself caught between the desire to maintain the integrity of the exam and uphold Xu Feng’s reputation as a scholar.
"Someone get him a cover!" Xiao Pei’s command echoed through the courtyard. He chose to prioritize Xu Feng’s modesty as a married ger. Xu Feng’s body shouldn’t be openly on display to the unmarried gers in the open courtyard.
The crowd buzzed with murmurs as the scene played out.
"He’s a married ger!" called out one of the junior proctors, prompting reactions from both married and unmarried gers. Some angled themselves to catch a better view, while others covered their eyes, creating a mix of amusement and embarrassment.
"All for the sake of his honor," some whispered, acknowledging the sacrifice Xu Feng made for the ’integrity’ of the exam.
"For the sake of the integrity of our exam," more optimistic voices chimed in, glorifying Xu Feng’s bold actions.
"How bold!" The sentiment echoed through the courtyard. Whether the onlookers supported, pitied, or felt disgusted by Xu Feng’s actions, the shock of the crowd was unanimous.
Sun Ming Hua’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Even Bai Mo, who was familiar with Xu Feng’s occasional ’special’ behavior, found himself frozen in place. He couldn’t help in any way and he wasn’t sure where or how to help at this point.
Meanwhile, Xiao Pei’s forehead throbbed persistently as he questioned what he had done to deserve this.
"Have the married gers continue with the search," Xiao Pei commanded, attempting to restore some appearance of order. In the span of a few minutes, Xiao Pei felt like he had experienced one too many lifetimes.
A cloth was used to shield Xu Feng’s body as he continued to strip.
"Do you see anything suspicious?" Xu Feng asked calmly, addressing the two junior proctors behind the sheets with him. Both of them, with pierced ears, should be married gers.
The situation proved to be more embarrassing than Xu Feng had expected. Despite reassuring himself that they were all men and there was nothing they hadn’t seen before, the piercing gazes of the two gers made him feel self conscious.
Adding to the embarrassment were the conspicuous red marks around his nipples, trailing down his happy trail and accumulating at the waist of his pants.
In the heat of the moment, Xu Feng forgot the reason behind the panda bags under his eyes.
The previous night, someone or two someones, had too much fun leaving lucky tokens in preparation for his exam.
When one of the gers made eye contact with Xu Feng, both their faces reddened before looking away. Xu Feng regretted his life.
As the two junior proctors tasked with verifying Xu Feng’s innocence or guilt emerged from behind the makeshift changing room, Xiao Pei’s voice immediately cut through the courtyard.
"Was there anything?" he inquired, pausing briefly. "Nothing at all?" There was a mixture of relief and disappointment in his tone. The proctors had just gone along with a scenario where a married ger stripped in the examination courtyard, only to find that he hadn’t cheated.
"If he had smuggled in something to cheat, the guards would have noticed."
"Yeah, how could he only be caught after how many sticks of incense?" Other proctors discussed openly, and even the other test takers seemed skeptical at Xu Feng’s supposed ability to cheat under such strict conditions.
"Am I deemed innocent?" Xu Feng asked, his voice slightly nasal, the embarrassment finally settling in. "May I dress?"
Xiao Pei glanced at the unconvinced Sun Ming Hua, who was still staring at the enclosed area with furrowed brows. The young master looked uncertain, but this charade had already gone on for too long.
If word got out about this incident, it would be another strike against gers as scholars.
They were already considered too emotional to hold government positions, and this spectacle certainly wouldn’t help their case.
