Chapter 561: Chapter 559 Introduction

"Is there a problem with the gene bank?

The Silver Turbidity process is just about reading ancient genes and matching them, isn’t it? There’s no time limit, so I figured I’d record all the gene fragments I could access. That way, I could choose the ones that best suit me, right?"

William’s retort left the staff present unable to refute,

There had never been such a case before,

Before William, any patient who went to the Gland Area for the Silver Turbidity process had only been performing a simple ’gene search’. Once a suitable gene fragment was found, they’d move on to the next step of grafting.

No one had been like William, and it was almost impossible to manually transcribe an entire gene bank.

"Although your approach is not wrong, it could lead to the leakage of the ’Ancient Gene Bank’.

Once leaked, it could adversely affect the evolution of the entire Old World, and you could even be classified as a dangerous element by the Monastery and be subject to the highest level of arrest."

However, William wasn’t the slightest bit moved, but casually draped his arm over the edge of the pool and turned his head.

"So what are you planning to do?"

"There are two solutions at the moment,

The first and most prudent is to have the Milker extend their ’ball hand’ into your brain after you complete the Silver Turbidity, and completely delete the memory of the gene bank.

The second requires you to sign a Soul Contract with us, ensuring you don’t disclose any information about the gene bank to anyone.

We recommend the first because the second seems passive and dangerous. If you encounter a powerful individual who brainwashes you..."

"Hey! Wait a minute..." The Sick Servant hadn’t finished speaking when William interrupted, "It seems you guys have got something wrong. There wasn’t an explicit rule here prohibiting the transcription of the gene bank.

Moreover, I wasn’t given any warnings before soaking.

I followed the requirements of the Silver Turbidity process. The transcription took a lot of my energy and time. My brain even burned out more than three times.

Essentially, isn’t this your issue?"

William’s argument actually had elements of sophistry because everyone was clear on how important ancient genes are. William also knew that something so fundamental to the Old World must not be leaked.

But he deliberately said so, wanting to see the attitude of the Gland Area staff. If they were stronger, he would have immediately compromised.

But if there was a chance, William wanted to gain something for himself.

The Sick Servant replied, "You’re right, we did not consider this thoroughly. In the future, we will set up a specific rule against transcribing the gene bank."

"No problem, everyone has moments of oversight.

I’m willing to cooperate with you, but the two suggestions above would have a negative impact on me and might even risk adverse effects. I hope you can come up with a compensation plan."

Following William’s statement, Sick Servants all raised their neural dendrites on the surface of their bodies and intertwined to conduct an internal discussion, eventually coming to a conclusion.

The Sick Servant responsible for William explained:

"How about this, we will provide sufficient assistance during the Composing to ensure smooth progress of the composition, at least achieving over 80% compatibility between the music and your illness’s traits."

"Fine."

Although he did not know what Composing was, William could tell from the serious demeanor of the group before him that such assistance must already be bending the rules to a degree.

"Okay, then I’ll choose the ’second’ solution. Just sign the contract. After all, my Madness Brain is my main concern. All my illnesses operate based on ’Epilepsy Syndrome’. I wouldn’t want someone tampering with my brain to delete memories."

With the signing of the contract, the gene bank data William had just transcribed from the Thought Library was immediately wrapped in thick parchment and marked with the[Forbidden]symbol on the surface, prohibited from sharing.

With everything settled, the Milker and Sick Servant left one after another.

William, reclining in the pool, gazed up at the ceiling adorned with silver liquid tumors and murmured softly:

"I didn’t expect these people to be so honest. Despite their bizarre appearances without any fixed structure, they were unexpectedly reasonable. They followed the rules to the letter, ensuring mutual benefit.

Looking back at the world Yi Chen lived in before his death, humans with their well-defined features were engaging in utterly unreasonable and baseless actions.

"Alright, let’s start the final phase with the silver turbidity! This will probably take quite some time."

The last step, gene grafting.

In William’s view, the real focus isn’t the grafting itself, but the necessity to define the path one takes [Order], integrating the concept of order with grafting to achieve a real ascent of the individual.

He had already figured out the real plan during the gene bank transcription process.

What is order?

Initially, William’s thoughts echoed those of the Sick Servants, distinguishing between order and chaos,

Everything in the world, from protons and electrons to social structures and even the movement of stars in the universe, is characterized by order and chaos, two elements that complement each other to form a complete whole.

Even William himself had clear aspects of order and chaos; he represented order while Yi Chen embodied chaos.

But upon deeper reflection,

Order and chaos are not set in stone, as seen when William portrayed chaos through his performance of [Social Phobia] in the square, whereas Yi Chen demonstrated an astonishingly orderly worship during his pilgrimage.

Order and chaos complement one another, naturally fluctuating without the need for further intervention; an imbalance towards either could lead to loss of control and ultimately to collapse and disintegration.

Reflecting on the entire encounter with the Tenth Abyss, what William truly experienced was something else entirely.

[Order]

Whether it was the Abyss assigning carriages to pick up those with potential, or the fixed rules of ’Condensed Face,’ ’Pilgrimage,’ and ’Audiences,’ all were expressions of order.

It was this order that allowed the Tenth Abyss, once chaotic, dark, and rejected by the Old World, to rapidly grow and claim its place.

Any substance, if given the most appropriate order to balance its internal order and chaos, can be crafted into the most perfect masterpiece.

The same was true for William,

From the time of his initial transcendence to the graveyard, introducing one illness after another into his body, he gradually became a carrier of multiple illnesses.

Although relying on the harmony of his Madness Brain and the universality of his special physique to allow the coexistence of multiple illnesses, the [Order] within his body was already on the verge of collapse.

If he were to forego order and choose to connect ’gene fragments,’ to complete and activate all the illnesses,

William’s body might explode on the spot. Even if he barely managed to sustain himself through death and rebirth, in the end, he would turn into an ancient, despicable, failed lump of mud.

Thus,

William’s current task was to rebuild his own [Order], which included redesigning organs, strengthening vascular structures, and increasing muscle bundle density, among other things.

Simply put, he had to regard himself as a society, overturning the existing societal constitution, moral ethics, and fundamentally restructure order.

But he would also preserve some essential and baseline elements.

Unbeknownst to him, William began to float in the pool,

His head slightly drooped, arms spread in the shape of a cross, while also activating ’Dead Man Makeup.’

Because he was wearing a mask, the Abyss Mask too was covered in makeup, a thick layer of white foundation applied as if a dead man’s hands covered the face.

Additionally,

An umbilical cord had grown from William’s lower abdomen, with the end of the cord plugged into the pool of silver liquid, ensuring contact with the pool throughout the suspension and allowing for constant use of the silver liquid.

Such a floating posture, such a Death Aura, reminded the Sick Servants in the monitoring room of an extremely ancient and significant figure.

"This is the pose of the First Dead Man! What exactly is he trying to do... Is he trying to commit suicide here?"
