Every time he fell into Shen Xia’s hands, as if it waa the predestined fate, a war between the two empire started and Yun Shu was sent in the frontline to fight, and a month later or so, he got the news that Yun Shu died and his dead body couldn’t be found.

As if it disappeared without a trace...

Hearing the news, Shen Xia threw a one month long banquet. Since Bai Yunxian couldn’t commit suicide even if he wanted to, he had to continue living with difficulty till the last of the month, when an assassin sneak into his chamber and kill him.

But this time, it was surprising enough for Yun Shu to come here and stay for a long time.

Since the war still hasn’t started, as long as he doesn’t return to the Capital, he would be safe.

So it’s alright if he sacrificed himself once more.

Bai Yunxian thought as he closed his eyes when he saw Shen Xia advancing towards him.

"Xian’er..." Shen Xia leaned closer to Bai Yunxian, tracing his upper jaw with his fingers and trailing his other hand on his chest.

Just as he was about to close the distance between their faces, a miracle happened.

"Gah!" The door opened with a loud noise which startled the both of them, Shen Xia jumped up in fear as he let go of Bai Yunxian though he was still leaning on top of him.

"Ahhh!"

"W-what’s this?" The girl who entered the room was shocked that she almost let go of the tray from her hand. Fortunately she grabbed it tightly on time, but was still confused with the scene before her.

"Who are you? How dare you enter this room without permission? Did you not hear what the Lord told you not to come here?" Shen Xia was irritated by the disturbance as he yelled like crazy. But Bai Yunxian took it as a dog barking as he remained silent.

"T-that...! Young Lord, I met the Patriarch just now before coming. The Lord permitted me to come and deliver food for the Young Man." The maid replied in a dry and shaking voice, her small frame was still trembling.

’Father gave permission to her?’

Shen Xia was still angry, but tried to look at the situation calmly. This girl seemed like one of the maids from Mother’s exclusive maids, and he couldn’t afford to anger his father over something as shallow as this when he was still only the successor.

’By the way, why does she look so familiar? Who is she?’

"Are you Mother’s maid?"

"Y-yes, Young Master. The madam gave me instructions to take care of the young lord over there till she woke up, and he didn’t eat anything from yesterday night. I brought his meal here." She answered as positively as possible.

If things went wrong then his father could eliminate him from the unstable position like the successor and give it to other cousin’s. He couldn’t afford to mess with him for now.

"Well then, leave the food here and return. I’ll take care of hi—" Shen Xia wanted to get the maid to leave, but got interrupted by Bai Yunxian himself.

"The maid can stay, rather, it should be you who needs to leave, Young Master." Bai Yunxian said in a stern voice.

"What? X-xian’er, do you really want me to leave? I promise I’ll stay quite, so..." Shen Xia wanted to coax Bai Yunxian, but looking at his disgusted expression, Shen Xia felt a knot in his heart as he gave up.

"Tsk. Fine, I’ll leave for now. Eat well and rest up..." Shen Xia forced a smile on his face as he tried to make amends, but seeing Bai Yunxian not spare a glance at him, he stopped talking and started walking away.

’It’s all the fault of this maid that I have to leave now.’

Before going, Shen Xia sent a glare at the maid with bloodshot eyes before finally going out, and then became petrified at the same place till he was out of her eyesight.

The moment his shadow disappeared in the corner, the maid placed the food tray on the bedside table as she walked towards the door and closed it, locking the door completely.

"Take them away, I have no appetite and I don’t want to eat. It’s even better if I die like this after starving..." Bai Yunxian shook his head as he smiled bitterly. At that moment, he looked like a dying person waiting for his end.

"On whose permission are you waiting, trying to die here?" The maid replied in a chilly voice, which made Bai Yunxian startled as he shot up his eyes.

"Who—?" Bai Yunxian stared at the maid in disbelief as he asked, but his voice got caught in the middle as his eyes glistened with tears.

This voice, it was so familiar that he didn’t need to confirm...

’Don’t tell me, is this what I think it is?’

"L-lord Yun?" Bai Yunxian asked with a trembling voice as he stared at the familiar face.

No wonder he felt the voice so familiar, as if he knows the person too.

"Right, I came here with a lot of difficulty just to get you out of here. And you..." Yun Shu turned around to finally look at Bai Yunxian properly and scold him, but went silent as she froze.

But in his life, he didn’t meet many women. So he had no way to confirm who it was... wait, a woman?

Bai Yunxian came to a realization as he felt dumbstruck, his eyes lit up in disbelief as he looked at Yun Shu’s face with a questioning look.

’Why was he wearing a maids suit? And strange enough as it is, he looked just fine and stunning as always even in a woman’s dress?’

Was he actually some sort of charming demon all along? One that can attract both man and woman like a queen bee?
