The old books page made of papyrus didn’t hold much life in them, they were in rags by the time spent inside rotting away.

There was dust on the cover, which accumulated over many years. Bai Yunxian started coughing after trying to clean the dust without proper measure.

"Cough, cough, cough...! These books are meant to torment me, aren’t they?" He questioned himself with annoyance, but was very happy to finally get them.

As he quickly wanted to get out of the place and start reading, Bai Yunxian paced, not noticing the few books that were all over the floor.

With a loud thud, Bai Yunxian fell over the wooden ground of the library room, getting scratched on his body here and there.

"Just my rotten luck, how am I supposed to go out looking like this?" Bai Yunxian said as he tried to stand up and clean the dust off of his body.

The more he kept moving, the more he kept making noise on the wooden floor, but Bai Yunxian didn’t pay any special attention to that, thinking that it was due to the wood rotting for ages, it wasn’t something special or new.

"Let’s get out of here first, I’ll take care of my clothes soon after." Bai Yunxian thought as he stood up, till he suddenly remembered the certain memories from the day before and felt his legs go weak.

Bai Yunxian slid down on the wooden floor again as he covered his face which was brimming red hot. The events that happened yesterday were so embarrassing that he only realized them later on, and thanks to this stupid realization, he wasn’t able to sleep all night long, later he ended up having those dazzling black eye bags under his eyes.

’Why did I suddenly lose my cool in front of a stranger I don’t even know? It’s definitely strange that I find him to be so familiar, but, still...! How could it be...’

Both doubt, confusion and embarrassment worked together in Bai Yunxian which made him fall in this state, but he couldn’t bear to get himself to investigate this matter.

Perhaps it was because that man reminded him of a certain someone whom he missed dearly, Bai Yunxian subconsciously wanted to rely on him a little.

Though Bai Yunxian wanted to deny this reality, he felt upset whenever he thought of that masked man’s cold exterior cleared up his memories once again.

Originally, all the men that got interested in him were prone to harass him the moment they met, or force themselves on him no matter how he was. However, he was inside that room alone with that man for more than half an hour, and he showed no signs of lusting after him, but instead, he seemed to be enjoying teasing him. That was the strangest thing to ever happen with Bai Yunxian.

Was he truly not interested in me?

If so, then... Could the rumors be wrong?

Bai Yunxian didn’t know if what he thought was true, but subconsciously, he felt grateful for finding at least one man here who wasn’t as disgusting as all those morons out there who either coveted him or hated him.
