Chapter 829: Chapter 776 Death
The old man’s insight was something even Liu Hun had to admire, and the old man hadn’t even asked about Liu Hun’s reasons for his actions. But this was a good thing for Liu Hun.
Otherwise, if the old man asked, he really wouldn’t know how to answer.
"Brother Fei, why didn’t the old man ask you for a reason and just agreed to you?" After leaving the old man’s house, Xiao Ai furrowed her eyebrows with curiosity and asked Liu Hun.
As the old man’s adopted daughter, she was very aware of his temperament. If it were anyone else, they certainly wouldn’t receive such treatment.
"Because right now, he can only pin his hopes on me, just like you did before. If he missed me, it might be more difficult to seize the next opportunity." Liu Hun smiled slightly at Xiao Ai.
Seeing that Xiao Ai didn’t quite understand, Liu Hun continued: "For the old man, all he wishes to see is peace, but Yunnan, being close to the border, is special. If he entrusts this power to me in the future, at least I won’t do anything bad. For him and me, it’s a good thing, not to mention I’ve given him the grand gift of information about the Poison King."
Upon hearing Liu Hun’s words, Xiao Ai nodded in half-understanding.
As Liu Hun just left, Feng Ming asked the old man inside the room: "Dad, why?"
"Xiao Ming, you’re still too naive. If you had even half of Liu Hun’s wisdom, I could rest easy entrusting the family to you, but alas." The old man looked at his only son, a bit helpless.
Seeing Feng Ming wanting to say something, the old man took a deep breath and said: "Golden carp may become dragons, and Liu Hun, whom Mr. Chen values so highly, do you really think he’s just a simple businessman? Nowadays, he has consecutively offended the Wu, Du, and Shen families, yet he’s still alive and well, and there’s a reason for that. Just like this incident, he knew ahead of time that I would agree, and I had no choice but to agree. Even if the forces of Miao Territory and Yunjiang are eliminated, another force will emerge later, and the losses will still be ours. But by giving this power to him, he owes me a favor and can ensure Yunnan’s future safety."
"But if he acquires these two forces, he’s surely up to no good." Feng Ming gritted his teeth and said to the old man.
"So what? As long as he doesn’t harm the people, there’s nothing else we can control, and even without this power, he probably has other cards up his sleeve. He’s not someone you should cross, so don’t think about causing trouble; if you insist, then you’re no longer my son." The old man’s expression grew serious toward the end.
Feng Ming knew that the old man always kept his word and would surely act on what he said.
He never expected the old man to value Liu Hun so highly, forcing him to keep his plans to himself.
That day, Liu Hun didn’t go anywhere but stayed in the Yunnan Provincial City with Xiao Ai for one night.
The next evening, Liu Hun drove Xiao Ai slowly towards a five-star hotel.
"Third Uncle." As soon as they arrived at the hotel entrance, Liu Hun saw Miao Yidao and Lao Jia respectfully waiting at the side for him.
"Why are you here?" Liu Hun asked Miao Yidao in confusion.
"I..." Miao Yidao opened his mouth, wanting to say something, but was interrupted by Lao Jia: "Third Uncle, I called Brother Yidao over. Second Uncle is no ordinary character, so it’s best to be cautious."
"This isn’t the issue. You still need to seize Yunjiang’s power, and with your previous injuries not fully healed, encountering danger today would worsen them." Liu Hun sighed at Miao Yidao.
Miao Yidao was slightly stunned by Liu Hun’s concern, feeling a warmth in his heart despite earlier awkwardness.
Humans are emotional beings.
Although Miao Yidao was forcibly brought in by Liu Hun, a single sentence revealed that Liu Hun didn’t just see him as a tool; human hearts are made of flesh, and Miao Yidao, though ruthless, is not without feelings.
"No matter what, if something happens to you, Old Miao will also have to die." Miao Yidao smiled at Liu Hun.
Seeing a few traces of a smile on Miao Yidao’s face, Liu Hun was momentarily stunned, then nodded at him, instructing the group: "Let’s act according to circumstances, everyone be careful."
They walked into the five-star hotel and pushed open a private room door. Inside, five or six bodyguards in suits were all aiming their guns at them.
Sitting in the center was a bald man with a rose tattooed on his forehead, appearing rather comical.
The bald man had two young beauties in his arms. When he saw Liu Hun appear, he didn’t speak but continued flirting with the girls in his embrace.
"So, is this your way of intimidating me?" Liu Hun asked calmly, looking at the bald man.
"I heard the previous Third Uncle was killed by you, but I don’t know if you, as the new Third Uncle, have the capability to fill this position..." The bald man said to Liu Hun without even looking up.
Upon hearing this, a cold light flashed in Liu Hun’s eyes. He grabbed a nearby bodyguard with one hand, but the next moment, a burst of bullets came his way.
The bodyguard in front was almost turned into a sieve, and after the guards emptied their magazines, Liu Hun held a gun pointed at the bald man.
"Courage and brains, very good!" The bald man clapped his hands and slowly stood up while looking at the gun Liu Hun aimed at his head.
"You all can leave now." The bald man said, dismissing the others.
His bodyguards left the room as instructed, but Miao Yidao and the others hesitated.
"I’m fine, wait outside." Liu Hun nodded to Miao Yidao and the others beside him.
"So, want one?" Once everyone had left, the bald man patted the shapely backside of a girl next to him and then smiled at Liu Hun.
"No need, since we’re here to talk business, let’s cut to the chase. Here’s the product." With that, Liu Hun tossed aside a handgun and pulled a bag of powder from his pocket, throwing it onto the table.
The bald man glanced at the small bag of powder, and his eyes suddenly lit up, more excited than if he had seen a beautiful woman.
"This is definitely good stuff, the purity is obvious at a glance." The bald man picked up the bag of powder from the table, and then handed a fingernail-sized amount to a petite beauty in front of him.
The petite beauty smiled seductively and didn’t refuse. After inhaling the powder, she slumped over the table, rolling her eyes, her body convulsing slightly.
"I have a question, would Mr. Liu be willing to enlighten me?" The bald man looked at Liu Hun after observing the petite beauty, then asked.
"There isn’t a person under the sky who wouldn’t want more money, and judging by your methods, you must know all about my situation. I’ve offended the Wu Family and the Du Family, so I need power." Liu Hun faced the bald man without a trace of fear, his face only showing calmness.
"Impressive methods; it won’t be long before all of Yunnan is yours, Mr. Liu. I hope you’ll look after me when that time comes." They both smiled at each other after the bald man’s words.
"This is something I created, and I can set up a factory to mass-produce it. I’ll take seventy percent of the profits and add one more condition. If you agree, we can cooperate happily. If not, pretend I never said anything." Liu Hun didn’t bother with small talk with the bald man.
"You’ll take sixty percent, and I’ll help you deal with the Clan Leader." The bald man answered Liu Hun without even thinking.
Seeing the serious eyes of the bald man, Liu Hun couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, realizing that his lack of experience left him at a disadvantage against the bald man.
However, Liu Hun didn’t mind these matters, nor did he intend to let the bald man fight the Clan Leader, especially since he had yet to obtain the Golden Gu.
"No need to trouble you with the Clan Leader, I only need Second Uncle." Liu Hun smiled slightly.
...
Just as they reached an agreement, a knocking sound came from the door, followed by a middle-aged man with a buzz cut and a dark complexion stepping coldly into the room.
Along with him was a bodyguard standing by his side.
"Liu Hun, aren’t you going a bit too far?" Second Uncle looked at Liu Hun with a somewhat cold expression and asked.
"Second Uncle, what do you mean? I don’t quite understand. Since the Clan Leader entrusted me with Third Uncle’s position, and there are troubles within the clan and with the Poison King, I thought I’d help the Clan Leader resolve them, isn’t that my duty?" Liu Hun blinked and looked at Second Uncle, puzzled.
"Your appetite is too big; sometimes it can kill you." Second Uncle didn’t believe Liu Hun’s nonsense.
With that, Second Uncle looked at the Poison King and said, "Poison King, I hope you don’t mind the reckless actions of a young clan member. I’ll resolve the previous issues as swiftly as possible, so as not to cause you any trouble."
"There’s no need." The Poison King sighed softly at this moment.
"Bang!" As soon as the Poison King finished speaking, he pulled out a handgun and shot at Second Uncle. Fortunately, Second Uncle reacted quickly, pulling the bodyguard beside him to shield him from the bullet.
Even so, the bullet passed through the body, leaving a bloody hole in his shoulder.
"Poison King, what do you mean by this?" Second Uncle’s eyes became even colder, glaring at the Poison King.
"Hun-Zi asked me to take you out, so I just obliged." The Poison King shrugged, sounding regretful.
"You’re courting death!" Second Uncle finally understood Liu Hun’s intentions, his eyes flickering with an icy light. With a move of his mind, he charged at Liu Hun first.
But right at that moment, Miao Yidao suddenly burst through the door, wielding a long knife to confront Second Uncle.
"Miao Yidao!" Seeing Miao Yidao appear, Second Uncle’s pupils sharply contracted. Everyone in both Miao Territory and Yunjiang was well aware of Miao Yidao’s terrifying reputation, and he was considered the top expert among the two forces.
"I didn’t expect you to be so formidable; it seems I really underestimated you before." Miao Yidao finished speaking and charged at Second Uncle with his long knife.
As the two battled fiercely, Liu Hun calmly took out a pack of top-shelf cigarettes from his pocket, slowly approached the Poison King, and tossed one to him.
The Poison King smiled slightly, seemingly unconcerned about Second Uncle and Miao Yidao.
