Chapter 827: Chapter 774: Military Adviser
“Is there any problem now?” Liu Hun looked at the middle-aged man in front of him and continued to ask.
The reason the Clan Leader gave him the position of the Third Uncle was not only to see his strength but also to make Liu Hun retreat in the face of difficulties.
The Third Uncle took so many years to build up this force; it was clearly not a simple matter for an outsider to seize it.
Liu Hun understood this logic, so to gain these people’s respect, he could only use an iron fist approach.
Moreover, from the start, he never wanted any power; he just wanted to take this position to conveniently find out the whereabouts of the Golden Gu.
So even if all of the Third Uncle’s people died, Liu Hun wouldn’t care at all.
“I… I will make arrangements…” The remaining middle-aged man looked a bit pale, with fear in his eyes.
Walking into the villa, Liu Hun directly took a chair and sat on the lawn, leisurely sunbathing, while the others watched from afar with some trepidation.
Half an hour later, Liu Hun looked at the dozens of people in front of him. Standing at the front were two middle-aged men, one fat and one thin, looking somewhat comical.
“You must be Fat Head, and you are Thin Head, right? I heard the Third Uncle had three capable subordinates; apart from you two, where’s the other one?” Liu Hun ignored the rest of the people and directly set his eyes on the Fat Head and Thin Head in front of him.
“Old Jia went out to handle matters for the Third Uncle; he’ll probably be back in a while.” Fat Head answered Liu Hun with a smile on his face as he looked at the bloody head on the ground.
“It seems Old Jia is really getting on in years…” Liu Hun commented with some sigh.
“Liu Hun, what do you mean by this? Do you really think you can take the Third Uncle’s place just because you killed him?” Thin Head questioned Liu Hun coldly.
Seeing the dissatisfaction in Thin Head’s eyes, Liu Hun couldn’t help but smile slightly, patting the dust off his thigh before saying to Thin Head, “My taking the Third Uncle’s place was personally promised by the Clan Leader, is there a problem with that?”
“The Third Uncle’s position is not something just anyone can sit in!” Thin Head said solemnly.
“Is that so? But I’m sitting in the Third Uncle’s position now, and what can you do about it?” Liu Hun blinked and looked at Thin Head with curiosity.
“You!” Just as Thin Head wanted to say something, he was suddenly interrupted by Fat Head, who then smiled and said to Liu Hun, “Lin, don’t mind, Thin Head has a bit of a temper; please bear with it a little. When the Third Uncle was around, this kid was uncontrollable, let alone now that the Third Uncle is dead.”
Faced with Fat Head’s explanation, Liu Hun just laughed and said, “One is tough, the other is gentle, and combining them is the key to being invincible. No wonder you’ve managed to survive the multiple disturbances from Yunjiang over the years; apparently, this is not without reason. Well, then I’ll wait a little longer for Old Jia.”
After speaking, Liu Hun gently closed his eyes and leaned back in the chair, continuing to sunbathe.
Seeing Liu Hun’s relaxed demeanor, Thin Head frowned tightly, eyes filled with anger.
If it weren’t for Fat Head’s presence, he might have already rushed up to take down Liu Hun.
Inside the villa, Liu Hun waited for more than an hour until an old man in shabby clothes hurriedly arrived at the scene.
“Lin, sorry, I came late. There was a little mess earlier, so…” Seeing Liu Hun, Old Jia apologized hurriedly.
Upon hearing, Liu Hun slowly opened his eyes, took a deep look at Old Jia, and then shifted his gaze to Fat Head and Thin Head.
Liu Hun knew that to win over the Third Uncle’s forces, he had to deal with these three in front of him. Otherwise, even if he sat in this position, it would still be just a title, with no substantial meaning.
“It seems like if I don’t do something today, nobody will obey me.” After a moment, Liu Hun sighed and said, “Xiao Ai, go bring out all of Third Uncle’s wife and children from the villa.”
“Yes, Brother Fei.” Xiao Ai hesitated for a moment, but in the end, nodded to Liu Hun and replied.
As Xiao Ai walked towards the villa, Fat Head, Thin Head, and Old Jia all hesitated, unsure of what Liu Hun intended to do.
Soon, a rather attractive middle-aged woman and a little boy were brought out by Xiao Ai.
“Please, let us go…” As soon as the middle-aged woman arrived, she pleaded with Liu Hun bitterly.
But Liu Hun ignored her, instead squatting down to look at the little boy’s bright eyes, smiled and asked, “What’s your name?”
“My name is Lele, Uncle, did you kill my dad?” Lele curiously asked Liu Hun with his big, shiny eyes.
“Uncle didn’t kill your dad, it was all done by this lady here.” Liu Hun pointed at Xiao Ai beside him, saying to Lele.
After hearing Liu Hun’s words, even Xiao Ai couldn’t help but roll her eyes. Without his permission, how could she dare to kill the Third Uncle? Now look, Liu Hun had pinned it all on her.
“Hey, Lele, Uncle has two candies here, one for you and one for your mom. What do you think?” Liu Hun said, pulling out two small medicine pills from his pocket and handing them to Lele.
Lele hesitated for a moment before handing one of the pills to his mother.
“As long as you leave my child alone, I’ll do whatever you want.” The middle-aged woman looked at the pill her son handed over, her tear-streaked face full of pleading.
“Then you should take this pill.” Liu Hun smiled slightly.
The middle-aged woman hesitated, gritted her teeth, and swallowed the pill straight down. Immediately, Liu Hun’s gaze turned to Lele.
“Liu Hun, are you even human? Third Sister-in-law and Lele are just a woman and a child, and you won’t even spare them!” Skinny Head couldn’t help but stand up and glare at Liu Hun when he saw Lele hesitate.
“In that case, you three should each take a pill.” As he finished speaking, Liu Hun turned his palm, and three pills were presented in front of the three of them again.
“As long as you let them go, I’ll take it!” Skinny Head fixed his gaze on Liu Hun, gritting his teeth.
“Fine, I promise you.” Liu Hun nodded, agreeing without hesitation.
Just as Fat Head was about to speak, Skinny Head grabbed a pill and swallowed it.
Then, Liu Hun turned his gaze to Fat Head and Old Jia.
Seeing their hesitation, Liu Hun smirked and said, “Taking it or not is indeed a choice, but isn’t it also a choice for me? Old Jia, you’re older, I bet you understand this better than I do, right?”
“Lin was right, we’ll take it, we’ll take it.” Old Jia hesitated for a moment and then came to the front of Liu Hun and swallowed the pill.
Seeing that all three had taken the pills, Liu Hun finally smiled and said, “These pills are just candies, after all. How do you like the taste?”
Faced with Liu Hun’s words, the few of them looked uneasy, but deep down, they didn’t believe him at all.
“If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do. Alright, that’s it for today. Everyone else can go, and do whatever needs to be done. As for Old Jia, you three must stay back to discuss with me the things I plan to do next.” After speaking to the others, Liu Hun turned his gaze to Xiao Ai and said, “Xiao Ai, take the mother and son inside. They can stay here for now, or they can leave if they wish.”
“Yes, Third Uncle!” Old Jia was the first to respond, a glint of intelligence flashing in those cloudy eyes, and then respectfully addressed Liu Hun.
Upon hearing Old Jia’s words, Liu Hun’s lips curled slightly, but he didn’t say a word.
After the others had left, Skinny Head’s figure moved, and a short knife landed right in front of Liu Hun’s throat. He said coldly, “Hand over the antidote, or I’ll kill you right now, believe it or not.”
Facing Skinny Head’s threat, Liu Hun shrugged and sighed, “I already told you, it was just a candy earlier. If you don’t trust me, what else can I do?”
“You…” Just as Skinny Head was about to make a move, Old Jia called out to him, “This is ridiculous, hurry and apologize to Third Uncle.”
“Old Jia, I…” Hearing Old Jia’s words, Skinny Head showed hesitation, with reluctance and doubt in his eyes.
“If you still recognize me as Old Jia, then do as I say!” Old Jia no longer had that sloppy demeanor but carried an air of authority.
Reluctantly, Skinny Head pulled back the short knife but did not apologize to Liu Hun.
“Third Uncle, Skinny Head is just like that. Always straightforward, and remember it was Third Uncle who saved his life back then, so he naturally has some feelings towards you.” Old Jia explained to Liu Hun after Skinny Head stepped back.
“It’s fine. After all, he’s quite a talent. I’d be saddened to kill him just like that.” Liu Hun smiled, seemingly unaffected by the incident.
“However, I’m curious about you. I initially thought it would take more effort, but I didn’t expect you to accept me so quickly. Can you tell me why?” Liu Hun seemed curious as he looked at Old Jia.
According to Xiao Ai, Third Uncle relied solely on these three to maintain his status in Qinghe Town. Fat Head was a smiling tiger, adept at external dealings; Skinny Head was fiery, skilled in fighting and assassination; and Old Jia was their strategist.
Old Jia’s initial request for Liu Hun to wait an hour was just to observe his reaction. Liu Hun was well aware of this. But he didn’t anticipate that an old fox would recognize him so quickly, piquing his curiosity.
“You’ve only been here a few days, and now you’ve already reached this position. If all this were purely coincidence, I, Old Jia, wouldn’t believe it.” Old Jia paused here, then continued looking at Liu Hun, “Initially, I made you wait that long on purpose—you should be able to see that. Had you attacked just now, I, Old Jia, wouldn’t acknowledge you; that’s one reason. Secondly, you didn’t kill Third Sister-in-law and Lele.”
“Those are surface reasons. Tell me the last point,” Liu Hun asked, showing no surprise and continuing to look at Old Jia.
“Thirdly, I received some news about Miao Yidao and you.” At this, a flicker of intelligence flashed in Old Jia’s cloudy eyes as well.
“Indeed, the strategist is worthy of his name. It’s impressive how quickly you gathered that information.” Liu Hun commented with some admiration.
“From today onward, we three will absolutely follow your future instructions without question, but I have a request.” Old Jia spoke, his heart quivering slightly as Liu Hun did not deny it.
