The Fortunate Demoniac Little Village Doctor -
Chapter 764: 712: Surgery
Chapter 764: Chapter 712: Surgery
The BMW’s front was almost completely dented in, and the Ferrari fared even worse, thrown from the collision and utterly destroyed.
“Liu Hun, have you gone mad?” An Ran exclaimed, unable to hold back her shout after the near escape.
“Mengyao’s body is very weak, I’m a doctor, I naturally know her current condition. If we delay any longer, will you take responsibility if something happens to her?” Liu Hun coldly replied to An Ran.
An Ran was momentarily lost for words in response to Liu Hun’s remarks.
Indeed, one Ferrari compared to a human life seemed trivial.
“But had there been any accident just now, it might have resulted in four deaths; would you take responsibility for that?” An Ran acknowledged the truth in Liu Hun’s words but still didn’t intend to let him off the hook.
“But nothing happened now,” Liu Hun answered indifferently.
“You…” An Ran glared at Liu Hun, then scoffed and ignored him, knowing she was no match for Liu Hun in a war of words. “Liu Hun, about the killing you did earlier without authorization, I’m not going to let you off for that, even with Secretary Liu backing you!”
…
Originally, it would have taken at least half an hour from the abandoned factory to the nearest hospital, but Liu Hun managed it in less than ten minutes, running countless red lights along the way.
“Liu Hun, I will make sure the traffic police revoke your driving license!” An Ran said, patting her heaving chest at the hospital entrance, not yet calmed from the recent panic.
“Sorry, I don’t have a driving license.” Liu Hun said, then carried Chu Mengyao towards the hospital; leaving An Ran stunned behind him.
“Sir, you also need treatment; please, follow us to the operating room immediately.” An Ran had already called the hospital on their way, so as soon as Liu Hun arrived, Chu Mengyao was immediately taken into surgery.
At that moment, a doctor, seeing Liu Hun with several bullets in him yet still persistent, was visibly shaken but, as a professional, still expressed his concern.
“I’ll perform the surgery myself. One bullet passed through the abdomen, one bullet only two inches from the heart—surgery like this is not something you can handle.” Liu Hun dismissed the well-meaning doctor and proceeded towards the operating room.
But how could the doctor let Liu Hun take such a risk, especially since he had been shot? Under such a critical condition, anyone else might have already bled to death.
“I’m sorry, we have rules here, and your injuries are too severe. If you keep going like this, you may bleed out…” The middle-aged doctor didn’t finish his sentence, but his implication was clear.
“Liu Hun, what exactly are you doing?” An Ran, just approaching, heard the doctor and snapped at him.
“You’ve arrived at a good time. Tell them I need to go in and perform the surgery myself. The bullet is only two inches from the heart, something their level of skill can’t handle,” Liu Hun instructed An Ran directly.
Hearing this, An Ran was about to mock Liu Hun when another doctor stepped out of the operating room and said to the middle-aged doctor, “Deputy Director, the patient’s condition is critical. One of the bullets is only two inches from the heart. If we attempt surgery now, the success rate is probably less than ten percent…”
With the doctor’s words, Chen Ming was visibly shocked as he looked at Liu Hun.
He had thought Liu Hun was just spouting nonsense, but Liu Hun’s words turned out to be true.
Such surgery was beyond the capability of their small hospital; while they stated there was a ten percent chance, it was almost the same as zero.
“If anything happens, I’ll take full responsibility,” Liu Hun said and then made his way towards the operating room.
“Liu Hun, you stop right there…” Before An Ran could speak, Liu Hun turned around, pulled out the pistol from her waist, and, after switching off the safety, pointed it straight at her forehead, saying coldly, “Do not test my patience. If there’s a next time, the bullet will definitely go through your forehead.”
Having said that, Liu Hun tossed the pistol to An Ran and walked straight into the operating room.
Witnessing that scene, Chen Ming was somewhat petrified and felt a deep-seated fear towards this young man.
Drawing a gun on a police officer constituted assault on an officer, which meant that even if An Ran killed Liu Hun in this instance, she wouldn’t face any legal consequences.
Normally, who would dare do such a thing? Yet Liu Hun openly threatened An Ran and she was utterly powerless against him.
“Who are you?” Liu Hun walked into the operating room and directly took a surgical gown to wear; Liu Mei, a girl wearing a surgical mask, frowned slightly and asked with a stern tone, looking at Liu Hun’s unfamiliar and blood-stained face.
“Administer full anesthesia to the patient,” Liu Hun put on a mask and picked up a scalpel, approaching Chu Mengyao.
“You’re not a doctor from this hospital?” The girl, seeing that the other doctors hadn’t moved, looked at Liu Hun with some confusion and a touch of composure in her beautiful eyes, questioning him.
“Do as I say,” Liu Hun’s eyes flashed coldly as he spoke in a chilling voice, making one feel as though they were entering an ice cellar.
“The patient needs to be transferred; not only is our equipment failing, but this kind of surgery is beyond our capabilities.” The girl hesitated for a moment, then gritted her teeth and explained to Liu Hun.
“If we transfer the patient now, they will die. I don’t want to repeat myself,” Liu Hun said, his gaze settling on the girl as he spoke in a frosty tone.
Just as the girl was about to say something, Chen Ming and An Ran entered from outside. Chen Ming glanced at An Ran, whose expression was somewhat displeased, before he finally said, “Do as he says.”
With Chen Ming’s instruction, the girl looked deeply at Liu Hun and nodded; she understood that if they didn’t proceed with the surgery, the patient was likely to die.
After the girl had administered full anaesthesia to Chu Mengyao, Liu Hun picked up the scalpel and walked directly to her.
Seeing the bloody hole in Chu Mengyao’s lower abdomen and a large pool of blood on her chest, Liu Hun’s eyebrows slightly furrowed, he then cut an opening in her clothing and swiftly sliced her skin with the precision of a craftsman.
After making three incisions, Liu Hun stumbled and weakly said to the girl beside him, “Tweezers.”
The girl supported Liu Hun. Liu Mei’s frown deepened, aware that without the assistance of the equipment, performing precise surgery and locating the bullet was an impossible task.
Yet, she also knew that the hospital had no other option but to place their hopes on Liu Hun.
After handing over the tweezers, the girl noticed fresh crimson blood seeping from both shoulders of Liu Hun.
“Are you injured?” the girl asked Liu Hun in astonishment.
Regrettably, Liu Hun did not respond; he took the tweezers and started working beneath the incisions he had made on Chu Mengyao.
“Clang.” The sound of the bullet dropping into the metal tray was crisp. Witnessing the scene, everyone revealed a look of shock.
They had not expected Liu Hun to actually remove the bullet successfully, and with Chu Mengyao’s body functions unharmed, it meant that the three cuts Liu Hun made had not touched her heart.
Such precision in surgery, especially without the aid of equipment, was truly a miracle.
Battling waves of dizziness, Liu Hun bit down hard on his tongue to fortify himself, and removed another bullet from Chu Mengyao’s lower abdomen, before stitching up the bullet-riddled wound in her stomach.
Poor stitching could lead to stomach issues for Chu Mengyao later, which was why Liu Hun exerted himself to perform the surgery personally.
“This… this is simply a miracle…” Chen Ming approached the operating table, looking at Chu Mengyao’s stable breathing in astonishment.
The girl next to Liu Hun was about to speak when he suddenly collapsed into her arms.
“Prepare for surgery immediately,” Chen Ming said, his expression changing slightly as he directed other doctors to move Liu Hun to an adjacent operating table.
When Chen Ming had removed Liu Hun’s clothes, the girl, An Ran, and the other doctors saw the two bullet wounds on his shoulders and another through his thigh, plunging everyone back into shock.
Even though Chen Ming had suspected Liu Hun was seriously injured, he never imagined the injuries to be so severe.
Bullets lodged in both shoulders would typically render a person’s arms inoperable, and a through-and-through bullet wound in the thigh should have made standing impossible.
Yet, not only had Liu Hun endured the pain in both his shot shoulder and thigh for so long, but he also performed a miraculous surgery. Once word of this got out, it would surely become a legend in the medical field.
“Director Chen, who exactly is this person? His medical skills are not only brilliant but also matched by his incredible willpower,” the girl asked Chen Ming in awe, although her eyes briefly swept over Chu Mengyao, who was lying on a nearby operating table.
Liu Hun woke up the next morning and immediately saw Wang Xiaofei sitting in the room reading a book.
“Xiaofei, how long was I unconscious?” asked Liu Hun, feeling much better after a night’s rest.
“Boss, you were out for the whole night,” Wang Xiaofei replied happily, seeing that Liu Hun had woken up.
Nodding, Liu Hun glanced at Chu Mengyao, who was still unconscious in the adjacent bed. Before he could speak, Wang Xiaofei continued, “The sister-in-law is also fine, but the doctors said she’s still weak and needs to rest a bit more.”
“As long as she’s fine,” Liu Hun took a deep breath, slowly got up, and limped towards the bathroom to unwrap the bandages from his shoulder and thigh, looking at the swiftly healing wounds with satisfaction.
“At this rate, my injuries should be fully recovered within a day,” Liu Hun murmured softly, then rewrapped his bandages.
“Who are you people? If you don’t tell me about your identities, I’ll have to call the police,” Liu Hun had just stepped out of the bathroom when he heard a crisp voice outside.
