Chapter 687: Chapter 636 Win_2

“It’s such a pity for the ice queen Guo Caixia, how much hardship she must suffer in prison!”

After being taken to the police station by Yang Xinrui, Guo Caixia was extremely arrogant and refused to say a word.

“Ms. Guo, are you sure you have nothing to say?” asked Yang Xinrui.

Guo Caixia gave a cold laugh and, still in an arrogant posture, said, “I will say nothing until my lawyer arrives.”

Yang Xinrui was at a loss and about to stand up when she heard a knock at the door.

“Knock! Knock! Knock!”

“Hello! I am Ms. Guo’s attorney, Lv Jian!” The middle-aged lawyer greeted Yang Xinrui.

“Please sit down, Attorney Lv!” Yang Xinrui gestured for the middle-aged lawyer to take a seat.

“I want to apply for bail!” Guo Caixia said brusquely, throwing the words at Lv Jian.

Lv Jian nodded and then said to Yang Xinrui, “I believe my client should be eligible for bail, right?”

Yang Xinrui, unable to argue with legal procedure, begrudgingly processed the bail for Guo Caixia, “It will be one million in bail!”

“Hmph! A mere one million. Attorney Lv, you handle this. I don’t have time to waste words with these people; I still have to deal with company matters!” Guo Caixia said as she wrote a check and threw it at Yang Xinrui, impatiently standing up to leave.

“Wait a minute!” Yang Xinrui really couldn’t stand the woman’s arrogant attitude, so she stopped Guo Caixia and said, “According to Hong Kong law, you can only leave the police station after all the bail procedures are completed. And! We have the right to detain you for twenty-four hours!”

“You…” Guo Caixia’s eyes bulged with rage. She didn’t expect a mere police superintendent to defy her. She had suffered too much humiliation today and couldn’t swallow any bit of it. She grabbed Yang Xinrui’s badge and said, “Yang Xinrui! I want to complain to your superior about you!”

“Feel free! But for now, you cannot leave,” retorted Yang Xinrui coldly, then left with the check. Watching Yang Xinrui’s attitude, Guo Caixia could only sit down huffily.

It had not been five minutes before Yang Xinrui returned to the detention room, holding the check. She said to Guo Caixia, “I’m sorry, Ms. Guo, your bank account has been frozen. You are now unable to pay the bail, so you cannot be released.”

“What?!” Guo Caixia slammed her hands on the table as she stood up, and pointing at Yang Xinrui’s nose, said, “Are you kidding me? Do you know who I am? Go ask your chief at the police station, Ren Darong!”

Yang Xinrui lightly brushed away Guo Caixia’s pointing hand and said, “I’m just doing my job. No matter who you know, it won’t help. Please respect the law.”

Guo Caixia, puffing her cheeks, yelled at Yang Xinrui, “I now suspect you of abusing your power! Intentionally obstructing my release on bail! I want to complain about you! Right now! Immediately! Bang! Bang! Bang!” Guo Caixia shouted and smacked her folder on the table thunderously.

“You might as well fill out the complaint form first; anyway… you’re not going anywhere before the court session!” Yang Xinrui said bluntly to Guo Caixia, then handed her a complaint form.

“Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!” Guo Caixia tore up the complaint form Yang Xinrui had passed to her, then turned to Lv Jian and said, “I must get out today! I must!”

Lv Jian, quite embarrassed, advised Guo Caixia, “Chairwoman Guo, if you… can’t pay the bail, there’s nothing I can do.”

“Useless! What good are you! Get out!” Guo Caixia shouted at Lv Jian, her face red with fury. It had been a long time since she had lost her composure like this. As a corporate leader and queen who always held herself above others, how could she tolerate being humiliated repeatedly in one day, only to end up waiting for trial in a police station? She absolutely could not accept it.

“Chairman Guo, take care of yourself!” Lv Jian stood up, gathered his documents, and left without looking back.

“Get out! I’m firing you right now! Useless trash! A complete waste!” Guo Caixia cursed at Lv Jian’s retreating figure.

“Ms. Guo, please rest, and ring the bell if you need anything,” Yang Xinrui said, about to leave when Guo Caixia suddenly grabbed her.

“Ms. Guo, what are you doing?” Yang Xinrui hadn’t expected Guo Caixia to lay hands on her.

“I want to see your Director Ren! I suspect you are abusing your authority! You’re doing it on purpose, not processing my bail!” Guo Caixia, blinded by rage, wouldn’t let Yang Xinrui leave, gripping her. She knew if she stayed in the police station, Liu Hun would gain complete control over her company. She couldn’t afford to lose again, and her strong vanity and competitiveness drove her to act rudely.

“No matter who you are, you must follow the procedures!” Yang Xinrui said and handed another complaint form to Guo Caixia.

Guo Caixia, unable to contain her anger upon seeing the complaint form, tore it up and, with a “smack!” threw it right in Yang Xinrui’s face.

“Ms. Guo! You…” Yang Xinrui covered her face, staring at Guo Caixia, unable to believe that a respectable chairman would behave like this.

Seeing Yang Xinrui flustered and exasperated, Guo Caixia felt a surge of satisfaction and laughed arrogantly, shaking her head. “So what if I hit you? That’s what you get, a disobedient dog! Didn’t you hear me telling you to call your master? Go ahead, give me another complaint form! I’ll make sure you’re looking for your teeth on the floor!”

If it hadn’t been for the fact she was in a police station and facing an unarmed Guo Caixia, Yang Xinrui would have fought back long ago. After holding back repeatedly, Yang Xinrui still pulled out another complaint form and sternly warned Guo Caixia, “I caution you, Ms. Guo, do not mistake my tolerance for weakness. You’re welcome to have complaints, but please follow the proper procedures!”

Guo Caixia paid no heed to Yang Xinrui’s words and saw the vulnerable Yang Xinrui as nothing more than a punching bag. Taking the complaint form Yang Xinrui offered, she crumpled it up in front of her.

“You dare!” Yang Xinrui glared at Guo Caixia, exuding the authority of her years in law enforcement.

“See if I dare or not!” Guo Caixia was not the least bit intimidated, her domineering attitude honed from years in business showing no fear of Yang Xinrui.

With a smug twist of her mouth, Guo Caixia made a “smack!” and once again threw a crumpled paper ball at Yang Xinrui’s face.

“You?!” Yang Xinrui, taken aback by Guo Caixia’s audacity, raised her hand almost involuntarily.

“Hit me then! I want to see if you dare!” Guo Caixia taunted Yang Xinrui.

Yang Xinrui’s raised hand hung in the air, not coming down. She held herself to a professional moral code and the constraints of the law, knowing Guo Caixia was deliberately causing trouble to find a way out.

“If you don’t hit me, I’m going to start again! What a thrill! I never imagined an attractive police inspector could serve as my vent!” Guo Caixia laughed heartily, looking around for something to use, aiming to take out all her frustrations on Yang Xinrui.

“Clang!” The door of the holding room opened, and a familiar figure appeared in front of the two women.

“Director Ren! You finally came! I was just thinking about how to contact you.” Guo Caixia discarded the crumpled paper, dusted off her hands, and addressed Ren Darong.

“May I ask what I can do for you, Chairman Guo?” Ren Darong inquired of Guo Caixia.

Just as expected, officials and businessmen are in cahoots! Yang Xinrui couldn’t help thinking as she looked at the two, her heart filled with bitterness and sorrow.

Pointing at Yang Xinrui, Guo Caixia complained, “Your subordinate is insolent! And is abusing her power! She actually said my check was worthless! A complete joke! I hope Director Ren treats this matter seriously—the media are watching. Director Ren, what do you propose we do?”
