The Fortunate Demoniac Little Village Doctor
Chapter 582 - 582 551 Joining the Team

582: Chapter 551 Joining the Team 582: Chapter 551 Joining the Team Liu Hun arrived at the Police Bureau in Yuhua City, this was his first visit to the city’s Police Bureau, and upon seeing the imposing building, he felt it was indeed extraordinary compared to the Public Security Bureau in the county town.

After entering the Police Bureau’s office building, Liu Hun, after several inquiries, finally found the Personnel Department, knocked on the door, and coincidentally, there was a clerk sitting inside.

“Hello, I’m Liu Hun from Anchang County, here are my personnel files,” said Liu Hun as he handed over his personnel documents to the clerk.

The clerk was quite enthusiastic about having Liu Hun sit down and even got him a cup of water, then carefully looked over his personnel files.

“You were the Director of the County Party Office in Anchang County?” The clerk seemed extremely surprised.

Liu Hun nodded awkwardly, not wanting to have left that cushy position to come here.

“You must have offended someone, huh?” The clerk’s gossiping instinct suddenly flared up, wanting to know how this person before him had become so unlucky.

“Ah,” Liu Hun sighed and said with a wry smile, “the most frustrating part is not knowing which deity I’ve offended.”

“Hahaha!” The clerk laughed heartily and then said to Liu Hun, “Here, the Criminal Investigation Team is the toughest and most tiring, the office is the most comfortable.

Anyway, those outside running about are all exhausted, those sitting in the office are quite at ease.

Just so happens we’re short of a civilian staff member in the office, and since you’ve been doing that before, you might as well be assigned to the office, what do you think?”

Liu Hun hadn’t expected the clerk to be so kind-hearted; he himself wasn’t keen on going out and grappling with criminals, so he immediately expressed his gratitude, “Then I thank you very much.”

“No problem at all!

Having an extra person to talk to keeps me from getting too bored,” said the clerk, finally voicing his own feelings.

Just as he was about to write down Liu Hun’s information, the door was suddenly pushed open.

“Team Li?

What brings you here?” The clerk’s voice trembled a bit as he addressed the arrival, clearly afraid of this person.

Liu Hun turned his head to look, and the person the clerk referred to as Team Li was actually a woman clad in leather pants and knee-high boots, wearing a sleek leather vest, with a short ponytail, sharp facial features with a high nose and broad eyebrows, and slightly deep-set eyes, overall exuding a spirited aura.

This woman had a strong presence, her facial features on par with foreigners, and it took Liu Hun quite a while to find the word “handsome” to describe the woman before him.

“Clerk Wang, I heard there’s a new guy coming?” Li Hongxia strode over to the clerk’s desk.

“Team Li, you’re quite well-informed.

But this person is civilian personnel and has no experience with police criminal investigation, so you can’t have him,” the clerk rattled off a whole bunch.

“Nonsense!

Who’s born knowing how to work criminal investigation?

Aren’t you also idle from sitting in the office that you’re so talkative?” Li Hongxia said impatiently, snatching the personnel files from the clerk’s hand to look at them herself, “Liu Hun, height and weight are not bad, looks like you haven’t wasted away sitting in an office yet.

Clerk Wang, where is he?”

The clerk helplessly pointed to Liu Hun, who had been sitting ignored on the side by Li Hongxia.

Li Hongxia turned around to look, her expression as if she was appraising an object, which made Liu Hun feel very uncomfortable, “Stand up, let me have a look.”

“Listen to her!” the clerk whispered a reminder from the side.

Liu Hun’s instinct told him that this woman was a tigress not to be trifled with, and he immediately stood up.

Li Hongxia closed in on Liu Hun in just two steps and ran her hand along his body, which made Liu Hun a bit embarrassed.

“Not bad, some muscles there, just a little too skinny.

With some training from me, he should shape up,” she said before turning to the clerk, “Clerk Wang, I’m taking this one.”

“Team Li, this…

isn’t very appropriate,” the clerk said, trying to keep his days from being lonely and at the same time making a last-ditch effort for the pitiful Liu Hun.

“Whack!” Li Hongxia suddenly lifted her leg, and her long, straight thigh crashed onto the clerk’s desk, making him shrink back.

Even though this wasn’t the first time he’d seen this move, it still left him feeling uneasy each time.

“Are you giving him to me or not?” Li Hongxia asked, tilting her chin.

“Yes!

Yes!

Yes!” the clerk set aside his pity for Liu Hun and quickly processed the documentation.

And just like that, Liu Hun found himself befuddled in the Yuhua City Police Bureau’s Criminal Investigation Team.

“Let’s go, I’ll show you around,” said Li Hongxia, effortlessly drawing back her leg and motioning to Liu Hun with a hook of her finger.

Liu Hun glanced at the clerk’s expression and knew his days ahead with this domineering woman were not going to be easy.

Although the office building of the Yuhua City Police Bureau was luxurious and spacious, the space allotted to the Criminal Investigation Team wasn’t large, probably because they were often out in the field.

“Nobody’s in the office today, they’ve all gone out on a call.

I came back specially to wait for you,” Li Hongxia said as she managed to dig out a chair from a pile of waste paper and threw it to Liu Hun.

Liu Hun caught it smoothly, his palm tingling from the impact, silently lamenting that a punch from this woman could probably knock someone out cold.

“Our Criminal Investigation Team is a bit tiring, but it hones and toughens a person.

A man should join the Criminal Investigation Team; sitting in an office getting fat all day isn’t exactly an accomplishment, right?” Li Hongxia, sitting casually on the desk, asked Liu Hun.

Liu Hun dared not disagree and could only nod his head.

“Recently, our criminal investigation team is about to wrap up a case, and I want to bring you in so you can get familiar with our team’s working state and environment.

It’s also a chance for you to get along better with our colleagues.

What do you think?” Li Hongxia asked enthusiastically.

Liu Hun inwardly groaned, but his lips could only agree, cursing himself for not arriving later.

If he had, he might have avoided this domineering woman.

Just as Li Hongxia was about to speak, the office phone started ringing.

Liu Hun looked around confusedly and couldn’t find the source of the ringing until Li Hongxia cleared away a pile of documents and rubbish to reveal the phone.

Liu Hun thought to himself that it was a wise decision not to allocate a big space to the criminal investigation brigade.

“Alright!

I’ll be right there!

Don’t do anything rash!” After hanging up the phone, Li Hongxia rushed out of the office.

She then remembered Liu Hun and, on impulse, dragged him along.

Bewildered, Liu Hun sat in the police car as it sped with Li Hongxia to the crime scene.

The two got out in front of a bathhouse and entered a van.

“Captain Li!

This is…” a somewhat frail but still masculine-looking woman in the car asked.

“Let me introduce you.

This is our new recruit Liu Hun.

This is Girlie, this is Skinny Monkey, and this is Blackie,” Li Hongxia introduced them to Liu Hun one by one.

To Liu Hun, this sounded less like a criminal investigation team and more like a gang, but thankfully everyone seemed friendly.

“What’s the situation inside?” Li Hongxia asked after introducing Liu Hun.

Girlie shook her head and said, “At first, we could still hear sounds coming through the bug, but then it went silent.”

“How long has it been since you lost contact with Huang Dan?” Li Hongxia’s expression suddenly changed.

“About ten minutes,” Blackie, who was watching the time, said from the back.

“What was the last thing you heard from the conversation?” Li Hongxia asked with a serious and tense face.

Pressing his head, Skinny Monkey struggled to remember and then replied, “Huang Dan said the big sister will be here in twenty minutes and then nothing further,” As Skinny Monkey spoke, he suddenly remembered something but hesitated to continue.

“And then what?

Stop beating around the bush, spit it out!” Li Hongxia barked at Skinny Monkey.

“Then they said that the big sister was very flirty, liked men, and had a larger chest,” Skinny Monkey said, clearly embarrassed.

The timekeeper Blackie interjected at this point, reminding, “It’s almost been twenty minutes.”

“Scrap the original plan.

Girlie can’t go anymore,” Li Hongxia suddenly decided.

“But, Captain Li, Huang Dan is in there.

If I don’t show up on time, he could be in danger,” Girlie retorted immediately.

“I know!” Li Hongxia said, holding back her temper and analyzing calmly, “Skinny Monkey just said, you don’t match that big sister’s physique.

If you go, you’ll give us away, jeopardizing both of you.”

Liu Hun couldn’t help but size up Girlie, who truly lived up to her name with a notably petite stature and none of the presence or grace of a ‘big sister.’

“Give me the clothes and the bug!” Li Hongxia said to Girlie, and everyone in the van understood the implication.

“Captain Li!

No!

We can’t let you go!” Girlie opposed immediately, supported by objections from others in the van.

“Follow orders!” Li Hongxia commanded, seizing the clothes and the bug from Girlie, “Not much time left.

I’ll go and change in the back.

Keep watch.”

Li Hongxia quickly changed into her clothes, a thigh-high cheongsam paired with black fishnet stockings and a heavily made-up face that was seductively striking.

Liu Hun couldn’t help but speculate that if this domineering flower wore a more subdued makeup, she might well have been devastatingly beautiful.

“Captain Li!

Wait!” Girlie suddenly stopped Li Hongxia, “We can’t relax knowing you are going alone, let me accompany you.”

“No!

All of you are well-known faces on the front lines in Yuhua City, it won’t be good if someone inside recognizes you,” Li Hongxia dismissed their offer.

Undeterred, Girlie quickly turned her gaze to Liu Hun, “Captain Li, he’s new.

Take him.

At the very least, he can run out and give a warning.”

Liu Hun suddenly felt utterly useless in their eyes, as if his only value was to run out and send a signal.

Li Hongxia checked the time and, after much hesitation, finally nodded, taking Liu Hun with her toward the bathhouse.
