377: Chapter 352: Entering the Casino 377: Chapter 352: Entering the Casino “Yes, there’s news!
I’ve found out about that person named Ou Ye you asked me to look into,” Xiao Mao stated excitedly on the phone.
“What’s the situation?” Liu Hun asked eagerly.
“That Ou Ye is very fond of gambling and he frequents the high-roller Gambling City; he is there right now in the Azure Dragon VIP Room!” Xiao Mao reported to Liu Hun over the phone.
“Alright, I got it!” Liu Hun hung up the phone and immediately drove to Gambling City.
Gambling City, built by the coast, was imposing and expansive, with architecture that was grand and antique in style.
Although the gambling was modern, the staff and everything inside the casino maintained an old-world charm, providing a unique flavor.
After entering the casino, Liu Hun stopped a staff member and asked, “Where is the Azure Dragon VIP Room here?”
“Sir, entry to our Azure Dragon VIP Room requires three million yuan,” the staff member told Liu Hun.
Liu Hun immediately pulled out a bank card and responded, “Exchange this for three million in chips for me.
I want to enter the Azure Dragon VIP Room.”
The staff member immediately grinned and said, “Of course, sir.
Please follow me.”
Liu Hun followed the staff member past pavilions and towers, along winding corridors, to a courtyard-like space with high buildings around it.
There were four rooms distributed around the yard: Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Xuanwu.
“Sir, the chip requirements for entry vary for each of these rooms, and of course, so do the stakes.
The Azure Dragon Room is this way, please come with me,” said the staff member as they were about to pass the White Tiger Room.
“Crash!” Suddenly, the door of the White Tiger Room burst open, and a man flew out, landing right beside Liu Hun’s legs.
Besides two chop wounds on his arm, this man seemed to have no other injuries.
The staff member screamed in shock, and then a deep hoarse voice scolded, “What are you screaming for!
This has nothing to do with you!
Get out of here!”
Hearing this, the staff member quickly left, leaving Liu Hun alone there.
“Hong Bro!
This is downright dishonorable!
I was just helping our brothers reclaim the money that rightfully belongs to them!” The man lying on the ground had a stern expression, showing no signs of injury-induced frailty, his eyes filled with resolve and determination.
“Honor?
Once the money is in my pocket, there’s no talking about honor!
Today, if you want to leave here, either leave a hand or pay one million for your hand!
Make your choice!” a bald man slowly emerged from the White Tiger Room, his entire head tattooed with a coiled dragon, his bulky frame very fearsome.
“Hong Bro!
If I had money, I wouldn’t be here asking for it!” The man on the ground slowly got up, leaning on the railing.
“Black Dog!
Then you’ve made your choice!” The bald man cocked his head, grabbed a watermelon knife from someone standing beside him, and only then seemed to notice Liu Hun.
He warned Liu Hun, “Come here to gamble then go gamble, don’t hang around and watch the action, careful or you might get blood on you that’s hard to wash off!”
“This brother, if I can’t get out today, please call this number, and say Black Dog did his best, thanks!” The man stood up, handing Liu Hun a piece of paper with a number on it, already partly soaked in blood yet still legible.
“It’s all about money in this society!
There’s no such thing as righteousness, it’s all about the money!
Since you want to be a hero, I’ll indulge you!” The bald man, holding the knife, walked toward Black Dog, slapping his thighs with the flat side of the blade.
Black Dog swallowed hard, his Adam’s apple bobbing nervously, realizing he couldn’t escape today.
“Wait!” Liu Hun suddenly stepped forward.
“Yo-ho!
What’s this drama now?
I warn you, kid!
This is none of your business, beat it!” The bald man glared fiercely at Liu Hun.
“I’d like to give this brother a million, hoping Hong Bro could spare his life,” Liu Hun said, stepping in front of Black Dog.
“A big sucker, huh?
What a rarity!
Someone actually meddling in someone else’s troubles and playing the sucker!
Haha….” Hong Bro laughed uncontrollably, and his minions joined in the raucous laughter.
“My name is Liu Hun, and I hope Hong Bro will take the money and let Black Dog go.
After all, one hand is of no use to Hong Bro, but a million is,” Liu Hun said, extending his hand politely to Hong Bro.
“Big sucker Liu Hun, surprisingly polite too!
I’ve never dealt with your kind before!
Seems I need to make more connections like this!
Let’s shake on it!” The bald man said, obviously mocking, as he shook hands with Liu Hun.
Black Dragon Power, a secretive, life-risking gamble!
Hong Bro couldn’t help but shiver, mockingly saying, “You guys with your ‘gentleman’s acts’ have damn cold hands!” His words again induced raucous laughter.
After swiping Liu Hun’s million, the bald Hong Bro pointed the watermelon knife starkly at Black Dog, “Black Dog, your lucky day, bumping into a big sucker willing to help you!
Go tell your dumb gang, no money, and if they want my life, they can come and get it!
Scram!”
Black Dog clenched his teeth, said nothing to the bald man, but thanked Liu Hun, “Thanks, brother!
If you ever need help, call this number!
Black Dog would go through fire and water, no regrets!” With that, he bowed to Liu Hun, clutched his injured arm, and left, knowing if he didn’t leave sooner, Hong Bro might go back on his word.
“Big shot, bring more people like you here in the future, I have many more to chop!
Remember to bring money!
Hahaha…” Brother Hong laughed heartily, scraping his bald head with a watermelon knife as he led his group into the White Tiger Room.
“Who is this Brother Hong?” Liu Hun asked a waiter next to him.
Seeing that Brother Hong had walked far away, the waiter dared to speak, “He helps oversee the place here.
Sir, you are really bold, better stay away from him in the future.”
So he’s a watchdog, no wonder he didn’t lay a hand on me knowing I have money, Liu Hun thought, If this so-called Brother Hong were mafia, today would have truly been troublesome.
“Sir, do you still want to play?” the waiter asked Liu Hun, unsure what was on his mind.
“Of course, let’s go, take me to the Azure Dragon Room!” After Liu Hun spoke, he followed the waiter to the Azure Dragon Room, which was situated farthest from the White Tiger Room.
The waiter opened the door and led Liu Hun into the Azure Dragon Room, which housed a huge round table surrounded by four gamblers, one bunny-eared woman dealing cards as the croupier, with one seat unoccupied.
“Sir, please have a seat!
I will get the chips for you.” After saying that, the waiter turned and left.
Liu Hun scanned his surroundings, the décor of the Azure Dragon Room nearly dazzling him, with gold and silver everywhere and intricate, dazzling chandeliers overhead; the red carpet stretched to every corner visible to the eye.
Among the four gamblers at the table, there was a heavily-made-up woman with obscured facial features, puffing on a slim cigarette, a calm and profound-looking old man, and a middle-aged man appearing somewhat agitated, and the last one sitting opposite Liu Hun, was Ou Ye.
Ou Ye glanced at his cards in hand and confidently tossed a chip onto the table, looking up to meet Liu Hun’s eyes.
“Liu Hun!
Did not expect to meet you here,” Ou Ye said, a barely discernible smile on his lips.
“Nice to meet you,” Liu Hun had just responded when the waiter placed three million in chips before Liu Hun.
“It seems you’ve made a pretty penny from your latest album release, daring to come here to play,” Ou Ye noted, glancing at Liu Hun’s chips with a flicker of greed in his eyes.
“If you dare to come, why shouldn’t I?
And…
I’ve earned much more than this,” Liu Hun replied coldly to Ou Ye.
“Shh!” Ou Ye sneered contemptuously, flipping his cards and declaring, “Three of a kind!”
“Three of a kind!
Win!” The bunny-ear croupier announced, pushing all the chips on the table towards Ou Ye.
“Damn!
Can you even play?
Or did you come here to be a bigshot?” Ou Ye jeered triumphantly, gathering all the chips from the table.
“Listen, kid, you’re just lucky today.
Don’t get too cocky!” the agitated middle-aged man said unhappily to Ou Ye, then guzzled a drink.
“Uncle, it’s skill that matters on the gambling table, not the mouth,” Ou Ye retorted unapologetically to the middle-aged man, his challenging gaze once again turning towards Liu Hun.
“Kid!
Don’t be too arrogant.
I have plenty of money, just wait and see!
And you’ll know how formidable I am!” the middle-aged man said angrily to everyone around, especially Ou Ye.
“Restless,” the old man muttered lowly, continuing his silence.
“Whoosh!” The seductive woman exhaled a long puff of smoke, her wandering gaze flitting over Liu Hun’s chips.
“May I ask if you would like to join this round, sir?” the card-dealing croupier asked Liu Hun.
Liu Hun shook his head and said, “No, I’ll watch for now.”
“Alright!” the croupier responded.
“Bumpkin!
So you don’t know how to play!
What are you doing here, sticking your nose where it doesn’t belong?” Ou Ye taunted Liu Hun mercilessly.
Liu Hun remained silent, knowing that the more rampant Ou Ye became now, the worse his downfall would be later.
He looked at the chips before him, a colorful stack with the smallest denomination being a thousand, and the largest, ten thousand.
A new round of gambling began, a thousand chips for the base bet wasn’t much, then the croupier dealt two cards to each person, with everyone unknowledge the others’ cards.
“Please place your bets!” the bunny-eared croupier said to the four at the table.
The seductive lady threw a five-thousand chip onto the table, her large eyes shimmering with a provocative allure.
This meant the other three players had to either match the bet or fold.
The following three did not hesitate to follow suit.
