(Reviwed at ch 995) Well, gotta bring down those 5 stars somehow bcs imo this is def not perfect. I will bring up the thing that bothers me the most which is the pacing.

Pacing in this story is extremely slow. 900+ chapter and roughly only 2 or 3 years passed? I still remember that i need go through 5 long a*s chapter consists only about MC and his friends coming back to the academy, they got stuck in a blizzard then proceed to fix/build a d*mn bridge. And that's it. I wonder what exactly the author want to achieve writing that particular event. If this ain't filler then i don't what is. I hope that was the last time i encounter such awkward filler eh but nope. COUNTLESS FILLER SPREAD THRU THIS STORY LIKE A d*mn BLACK DEATH. God, a mission that take 80 or so chapter to explained. I feel like dying remembering it.

This story love to take a long detour to the point it feels like we're not moving at all. Lots of unecessary event and details. Lots of filler. I mean, if we cut all those 'fat' and left just the 'meat' then the current arc can be achieved around 500 chapter or so. That is how much content that can be cut.

Now move one to the next, World building and general rules. Both basically makes no sense. Messy and illogical, i feel like crying at times. MC birthplace have helicopters, tv, reporters, idols, lift, high tech awakening serum, yet somehow they don't have drones???? This part is so hilarious that for a moment i thought maybe the author left that particular part just to make Hawk ability to scout stand out.

World building is very weird... Idk how to wrap my head around it. One nation is so advanced, the other borderline stuck in medieval. One continent stuck at power cap Overlord, the others treat Overlord as the starting point. So how does even MC home country still stand after all this time. They can easily defeated by people from other continent. Like bruh, be fr.

MC and the rest of the cast are just so so. Some member are funny and charming, like Lotus, Cara and Rae. But MC lovers? No, she's like a wallflower. She's there just because. She doesn't add anything to the story and frankly no one does in MC team. Chemistry be damned bcs romance taste like s*it here.

Anyone who's planning to read this, just remember. Read this with your brain thrown out of the window. It will be more enjoyable that way. So just for funsies, but not the story i kept on my tabs. 3/5

I have red 1000 chapters now and have a few things to note down for people who consider reading this novel. So let's start with the positive factors:

First and foremost I liked the world building, it is fleshed out the creatures roaming around are interesting. Even though Dungeon diving is nothing new anymore the dungeons have a personal note in this novel. The adventures and plot the protagonist has are pretty elaborate, entertaining and diverse.

Negative factors: In opposite to the world building the interaction between characters is only surface level. Even after 1000 chapters I don't know any significant events out of any of the side characters past. After all this time where they have been through life and death struggle their relationship and ton of communication doesn't change much from the beginning. The protagonist is either naiv or stupid telling every random stranger what his abilities are, not even thinking about potenciall consequences. The "romance" introdused by the author is also surface level more of a seems to be Girlfriend Dana considering he barely shows her any more attention to her than the other party members or shows affection towards her very rarely (like once every 100 chapters). Why introduce a romantic subplot if you are not going to pursue it actively.

Light Spoilers ahead: What irritates me as well is his relationship with his parents. They have been mention in a handfull chapters at the beginning but never afterwards and considering he went to another continent full of dangers without telling them or even thinking about them. I MEAN WTH YOU HAVE BEEN BANISHED FROM YOUR OWN CONTINENT AND WILL PROPABLY NOT RETURN BEFORE YOUR PARENTS DIE AND YOU ARE NOT EVEN WORRIED OR SAD OR SEE THE NEED TO SEND A MESSENGER TO TELL THEM YOU CAN'T VISIT THEM ANYMORE?????They were completly ignored.

TL;DR: Good world building and definitly an entertaining read if you like light adventure novels but there is no charakter development and missing background information of almost all charakters that play a role in the story. Furthermore people who should play a significant role in the life of the protagonist (parents) just disappear in the plot and have no influence on desicion making.

Read till 939 so far. I like it. Its nice slice of life with some action. But the atmosphere is chill overall.

I started reading this after being frustrated with KR novels that can't stop with the tragedy, offering no fun or relaxation. There, the MC worries about some big boss looming over his head that gave him amnesia and is manipulating him and planning to destroy the word or smth everyday. That's pretty much it.

Anyway, First Legendary Beast Master is not perfect. There is no end goal, it's just going with the flow. That can be an issue for some, but this is what really makes me immerse myself in what Karl and Co. are doing in the present, enjoying the everyday activities—actually having fun reading and relaxing.

But of course you need tension sometimes, so I read other novels while staking chapters here. I have about a hundred so far. I'll dive on soon enough.

I've lost touch with my avid reader side over the years, but I've found myself wishing for more and more to read with every release. I can't get enough of this book. 10/10 highly recommend.
