Chapter 463: Chapter 6 Capital Night Banquet (Part 2)
The capital of Jizhou at midnight was still brightly lit, and in celebration of Sovereign Zhuanxu’s wedding, all the subjects in the capital were rejoicing, singing and dancing in the streets, creating a lively scene.
Yet, unknown to everyone, compared to the bustling exterior of the Imperial City, the innermost layer of the Imperial City was chillingly solemn.
In the reception hall, not a single person could be seen on the tables and chairs that filled the room, all abandoned and limp. Only a few monks, dressed as Buddha’s sons, and a couple in festively red wedding robes remained standing at the table in the furthest back.
Zhuanxu, in his red robe, looked at Little Yue’er with a cold smirk and said, "Wu Yue’er, ever since the time of Emperor Huang, your Witch Sect has been troubling our borders. Our conflict has long been a fight to the death; did you really think I would marry you?"
"You, you..." Little Yue’er’s bright eyes widened, her whole body trembling with anger.
Zhuanxu didn’t bother further with Little Yue’er but turned to the Pharmacist and said, "Master, please deal quickly with these Human Clan rebels!"
"It should be so!" The Pharmacist nodded and stepped forward to deal with the Wu Zhu first.
Little Yue’er fiercely bit her lip and suddenly raised her hand, snuffing out all the lights in the hall, plunging it into darkness.
"Disperse!" Little Yue’er shouted sharply, her left hand suddenly releasing several ferocious-looking small insects.
These insects were blood-red all over, with pincers as big as their bodies on their heads, emitting piercing cries as they explosively shot towards Zhuanxu and the others.
"Evil creature, cease your arrogance!" The Pharmacist, standing at Zhuanxu’s left, brought his palms together, and the subdued Buddha Light began to faintly emerge from his body, forming a dark golden halo behind his head.
Around the halo, brilliant golden Buddha Power blazed like flames, followed by an overwhelmingly intense yet profoundly thick pressure.
"Squeak, squeak!"
The small insects felt the oppressive force from the elegant monk, their bodies trembling violently as they tried repeatedly to break free, but to no avail.
"Puff!"
Little Yue’er’s rosy cheeks suddenly turned pale, and she spat out a mouthful of Heart Blood Essence. Her hands rapidly performed a series of seals, injecting the blood-red liquid into the bodies of the insects.
"Squeak, squeak!"
Obviously, Little Yue’er had used a Forbidden Technique to awaken the potential within these few insects.
The body of the insects suddenly swelled, emitting a faint blood-red glow, and with a speed too fast to cover one’s ears, they burst forth, breaking through the Pharmacist’s defenses and rushing towards the group.
"Not good!" The quick-reacting Pharmacist, grabbing Zhuanxu by his side, leaped out of the way.
The other Buddha’s sons who couldn’t dodge in time only saw a flash of red light followed by intense, piercing pain.
"Ah! What’s happening? Why do I feel all my strength draining away?"
A strained, hoarse cry came from one of the Buddha’s sons.
He could feel the Buddha Power, spiritual power, and recently coalesced Faith Power inside him rapidly draining away. He struggled, only to find his entire body bound as if by a massive net, incapable of breaking free, leaving him to emit helpless cries.
The eight Buddha’s sons who couldn’t dodge in time—their robust bodies under the shocked gaze of Zhuanxu and the Pharmacist—began to wither, as if all the flesh and blood had disappeared, leaving only a skin draped over large bones. Through the thin skin, one could even see the ghastly white bones underneath.
"Gulp!"
Swallowing a difficult mouthful of saliva, Zhuanxu turned to the Pharmacist and asked, "Master, what, what is this thing?"
The Pharmacist’s expression was solemn as he looked at the still squirming bulges under the skin and said, "If I am not mistaken, that thing should be a Gu!"
"Gu?" Zhuanxu lifted his head in confusion and asked, "What is Gu?"
Pharmacist looked at Little Yue’er, whose face was pale, and explained, "The so-called Gu is a secret technique developed by some members of the Witch Tribe pursuing power during the Witch Demon War in ancient times! However, because its manufacturing process and effects were too evil, the Ancestor Witches decreed that no member of the Witch Tribe should produce Gu Insects! Unexpectedly, unexpectedly, there are still Witches who would make Gu Insects!"
"Squeak squeak!"
Just then, the Gu insects completely devoured several Buddha’s sons and burrowed out. They fiercely shot towards Pharmacist and Zhuanxu.
"Hmph, just now in haste I did not make a move to attack, do you really think this monk is as malleable as mud?" Almost capsized in the muddy ditch, Pharmacist snorted angrily with shame. With rapid hand seals, a gigantic hand formed purely from Buddha Power emerged magnificently, grasping at the attacking Gu insects.
"Bang!"
A golden flame appeared in the palm of the giant hand, enveloping those little insects in an instant.
"Squeak squeak!"
The fiercely looking Gu insects struggled desperately, but no matter what, they could not escape the confinement of the giant hand. After a moment, they were burnt to ashes by the flames in the center of the giant hand.
"Pfft!"
With the Gu insects destroyed, as their master, Little Yue’er suddenly spewed a mouthful of dark, bloody fluid, her entire body trembling continuously. On her pale forehead, sweat flowed down like starch water.
Seeing Little Yue’er’s miserable condition, Pharmacist sneered coldly, saying, "I was wondering how these Gu insects could be so powerful! It turns out they were Heart Linked Gu fed by your Heart Blood Essence. Little girl, since you trust Chi You and other Great Witches so much, this monk will send you down to reunite with them!"
Little Yue’er clenched her teeth tightly and closed her eyes in despair.
"Buzz!"
Just as Pharmacist was about to have the giant hand land on Little Yue’er’s head, suddenly the world changed dramatically, with thunder roaring and a massive spatial rift appearing beside Little Yue’er.
Following that was a pitch-black hand completely formed from Yin Evil Power.
"Boom!"
The two giant hands collided in mid-air, and the golden Buddha Power hand was no match for the Yin Evil Giant Hand and was instantly shattered.
Suddenly, Pharmacist’s expression drastically changed, and he exclaimed in surprise, "Huh? You are Hou..."
"Pfft!"
Pharmacist could not finish his sentence when he was caught by the overwhelming Yin Evil Giant Hand, crushed into powder, not even his Primordial Spirit had a chance to escape.
At the same time, still on Penglai Island and staring eye-to-eye with Yang Mei, Li Qingming’s mind stirred and said, "Medicine Buddha is gone!"
"How did he die?" Yang Mei casually touched the smooth jade chess piece in his hand and asked indifferently.
Li Qingming chuckled and replied, "He was crushed to death by Houtu sister, not even leaving any remains!"
"Oh?" Hearing this, Yang Mei pondered for a while then curled his lips and said, "Pshaw! This little girl lacks guts, only killing one."
Li Qingming was stunned and asked, "What do you mean?"
"Didn’t you see Zhuanxu is still alive? Kill him and choose another Human Emperor!" Seeing Li Qingming distracted, Yang Mei stealthily moved a chess piece off the board.
After a while, Li Qingming directed a dazzling radiance towards Jizhou and lowering his head, he said, "Alright, if it’s choosing another, then we choose another! Huh? You old jerk, you dare to cheat!"
"Bugger off, Old Tao like me who is so upright and straightforward, how could I ever do such a low thing..." (To be continued.
