Chapter 375 - 63 Accepting Lie Mountain as a Disciple

Chapter 375: Chapter 63 Accepting Lie Mountain as a Disciple

In the pristine starry sky, the radiant Taiyin Star emitted a soft glow, draping the earth in a silvery layer on this peaceful night. The slaughter had passed, leaving behind a battlefield strewn with disorder!

There in the small mountain hollow, limbs and severed arms were scattered everywhere, amongst corpses still oozing fresh blood. The scarlet blood had soaked the earthen ground, unable to conceal the despair that filled those on the brink of death.

Countless lives arrived in this world naked, only to have their existences snatched away in an instant, their souls returning naked to the Nine Nether.

Li Jing looked at Guang Chengzi, who was quite saddened, and shook his head helplessly, saying, "Master Guang Chengzi, I must return to the Heavenly Court to report and cannot linger here any longer. Farewell!"

Guang Chengzi roused from his meditative state, stood up, and saluted Li Jing once more, saying, "I, Guang Chengzi, on behalf of the Human Clan, thank General Li for your rescue!"

This time, Li Jing did not act coy but gracefully accepted the salute. Afterwards, Li Jing instructed Ju Ling to gather the corpses of the dead Heavenly Soldiers and Generals, and then he returned to the Heavenly Court.

Meanwhile, on a small hill to the east of the hollow, the surviving millions of the Jiang Clan tribe members were all gathered. Their faces were pale, and the hatred in their eyes was chilling to behold.

...

East Sea Penglai Island, gazebo at the center of the Lotus Pond.

"Master, have these innocent members of the Human Clan really died in vain?" Kong Xuan asked with eyes filled with indignation.

Li Qingming fell silent for a while, then replied, "What else do you suggest? When a Human Emperor is born, his affiliated tribe will suffer massacre. This is their fated destiny, it’s also their catastrophe! When Emperor Fuxi was born, if Taiching Master and Lady Nuwa hadn’t shielded him from his catastrophe, do you think the Fengyan Tribe would have many survivors?"

"This, this is completely different!" Kong Xuan insisted: "When Emperor Fuxi was born, no disaster befell. But now, as soon as Lie Mountain was born, first the Western Two Saints attempted to snatch him away to the Western region. Then Yin Yang Realm Master Li Qianqiu gave him the cruel hand. This is clearly a man-made calamity, where does natural disaster come into this?"

"Is it not?" Li Qingming looked at Kong Xuan with a smile that was not quite a smile, saying, "Before Fuxi ascended as the Human Emperor, disasters struck the Eastern Extremity. The waters of the Four Seas overflowed the Dongsheng Divine Continent, and the Earth Core Intense Fire scorched all living beings above the continent... Are these not natural disasters?"

Kong Xuan was stunned and thought: "That’s true!"

"If Taiching Saint and Lady Nuwa hadn’t secretly intervened, do you think the Dongsheng Divine Continent could have recovered so quickly?" Li Qingming continued: "The birth of a Human Emperor is accompanied by great calamities. However, after these calamities pass, the Human Clan will naturally flourish! All this is predestined by the heavens, beyond human control!"

Kong Xuan nodded thoughtfully.

Li Qingming smiled slightly, his gaze towards Northern Continent was distant and profound.

Northern Continent, along the banks of Wei River.

The remaining people of the Jiang Clan tribe, with the help of the Sacrificial Pavilion, had all relocated to the banks of the Wei River.

The original Jiang Clan tribe had already been reduced to ashes during the attacks by Li Qingming, Zhunti, and Xuanhu. Although it was easy to establish a new tribe, the nostalgic attachment to the Lie Mountain Range caused a subtle morbidity in the hearts of the tribespeople.

At this moment, the entirety of the Wei River banks was bustling with activity.

Skyward, countless cultivators were flying to and fro. Some were bringing in timber from distant forests, others were gathering stone from other mountains. Each cultivator’s face was brimming with satisfaction.

The ordinary members of the Human Clan on the ground were engaged in simple restoration work, laboring from sunrise to sunset. Their daily lives had regained the fulfillment of the past.

After roughly a month’s time, the newly established tribe had already taken substantial shape.

To honor the former tribe beneath the Lie Mountain Range, the Clan Leader renamed this newly established tribe the Lie Mountain Tribe. And the tribe’s totem became the precipitous peak beneath the Great Sun.

During this month, Lie Mountain truly lived up to his title as the Heavenly Determined Human Emperor; he could speak in three days and walk in five.

By the time he was three years old, he understood crop cultivation.

Years went by, and as the deeds of young Lie Mountain were spread, the tribespeople of the Lie Mountain Tribe grew increasingly convinced of his exceptional nature. His exploits even gradually reached nearby tribes, causing them to marvel in secret.

Guang Chengzi, who remained in the tribe, watched Lie Mountain grow step by step. However, considering that he was the teacher of Lie Mountain’s mother Nu Deng and worried about potential criticism if he took Lie Mountain as his disciple, he thus hesitated to act.

It was Nu Deng who saw that young Lie Mountain was clever from a young age. She taught him all the Human Clan’s Battle Skills that had been passed down in the tribe for countless years, along with the contents of the Hundred Herbs Talisman, without reservation.

Lie Mountain was indeed impressive; he grasped everything at once, and by the age of five, he had already practiced the Human Clan’s Battle Skills to the Refining God Returning to Void Realm, his talent rivalling that of Emperor Fuxi himself.

One day, as Nu Deng was sitting in the courtyard sewing beast skin clothing, she watched Lie Mountain practice combat skills not far away.

Suddenly, an auspicious cloud drifted across the sky and descended nine feet above the ground, followed by an exotic fragrance and Earth Erupting Golden Lotuses. Looking up, through the layers of mist-like clouds, a seven-colored rainbow spanned the heights.

A Daoist clad in a dark cyan Daoist robe, riding a big bear with ribs sprouting wings, appeared in the courtyard.

The five-year-old Li Shan ceased his activity and curiously regarded the Daoist, saying, "Big brother, are you an Immortal?"

Li Qingming smiled faintly upon hearing this, his heart blooming with joy, and he thought to himself: "You old bastard, you’ve finally got your comeuppance for dragging me into that mess! Serves you right!"

Meanwhile, Nu Deng, who was sewing beast skin clothing, felt a shock in her heart and suddenly remembered the ancient envoy of the tribe that was recorded on the green stone - the elegance of the Holy Father.

After a closer look, she realized that the Daoist before her bore an uncanny resemblance to the Holy Father depicted on the stone, which was when she recognized the man as the Human Clan’s Saint Father, Li Qingming. She hurriedly pulled Li Shan to their knees and cried out, "Human Clan’s Lie Mountain Tribe’s Nu Deng, with her son Li Shan, pays respects to the Holy Father, wishing the Holy Father peace!"

Li Qingming’s lips curled into a warm smile, and with a gentle flick of his hand, he said, "Hehe, no need for such formalities!"

Nu Deng, her face flushed, stood up and asked, "May I know the purpose of the Holy Father’s visit?"

Li Qingming gently patted Li Shan’s horned head and said, "I am here especially for this child!"

Nu Deng was taken aback and inquired, "I do not understand the words of the Holy Father!"

Li Qingming pretended to be pensive, falling silent for a moment before looking up and saying, "Your son Li Shan is a Great Sage chosen by the heavens, destined to achieve unequaled feats. I have a master-disciple fate with this child, and hence I have come today to accept him as my disciple. May I know your feelings on this?"

Overwhelmed with happiness, Nu Deng was struck dumb by this news and took a long while to come to her senses.

"Who has such audacity to think they can take my disciple’s child as their own? Are they not afraid of leading the child astray?" Spoke of a coincidence, at that very moment an indignant voice was heard from afar, coming from the houses.

Dressed in a yellow Daoist robe and rushing over at high speed was Guang Chengzi, his face red with repression and a hint of Evil Qi still lingering in his fierce, writhing eyes.

On hearing this familiar voice, Li Qingming swiftly turned around, his gaze filled with a mocking smile as he looked at Guang Chengzi and said, "Wouldn’t you like to know whether I am qualified to take him as my disciple?"

Guang Chengzi had been too far away, and although the voice was familiar, his burning rage clouded his senses, preventing him from recognizing who was standing in front of him.

But as soon as he laid eyes on that familiar plump figure and those adorable little wings, his heart skipped a beat, and he thought, "Damn it, it can’t be such a coincidence, can it?"

When Li Qingming turned to look at him, Guang Chengzi’s handsome face turned pale with fright, and his legs began to tremble uncontrollably.

After what seemed an eternity, he nervously stammered, "Eldest senior brother!"

Li Qingming patted Xiong Da’s little wings and said indifferently, "Forget about the distant and near, you still haven’t answered whether I’m qualified to accept Li Shan as my disciple."

At this point, Guang Chengzi felt like he wanted to die of embarrassment; wiping the fine cold sweat from his forehead, he forced out a smile and said, "Of course, Eldest senior brother certainly is qualified!"

Li Qingming ignored him and instead turned to look at Li Shan, asking, "Little fellow, are you willing to take me as your Master?"

"After becoming your disciple, can I fly and burrow into the earth, and can I protect our tribe from wild beasts?" Li Shan, touching the horns on top of his head, looked at Li Qingming with anticipation.

Li Qingming burst into a great laugh and said, "Hahaha, not just flying and burrowing into the earth, hunting a few wild beasts. Even ascending to the Star Domains and descending to the Nine Nethers is nothing difficult!"

Li Shan’s eyes sparkled, and he knelt down, saying, "Disciple Li Shan pays respects to Master!"

"Good!" A glint shimmered in Li Qingming’s eyes as he lifted Li Shan and said, "I am known as Qingmingzi, the foremost disciple of the third generation in the Taoist lineage. My Master is the Yuqing Yuanshi Tianzun, and my mentor above him is the Taoist Ancestor Hong Jun!"

Li Shan, who seemed to understand but not quite, nodded and asked, "Is it just me as a disciple under Master?"

Li Qingming patted Li Shan’s head and answered, "You have six senior brothers and sisters above you. When you go to Penglai Immortal Island later, I will introduce them to you one by one!"

As he spoke, Li Qingming took a thumb-sized, ancient-looking stele out of his storage space, tied it with a string of Nine Heavens Ice Silkworm Silk, and handed it to Li Shan, saying, "By the way, this stone stele is a Top-grade Innate Spiritual Treasure, it was a gift from an old friend of mine. Although it has no offensive or defensive powers, it can be directly used to inherit the Martial Arts Dao! Since you, my disciple, are practicing the Human Clan’s Battle Skills that refine the physical body, I bestow this stele upon you!"

Li Shan looked at the thumb-sized stone stele in his hand, and his gaze became somewhat silent.

After an inordinate amount of time, Li Shan suddenly touched his crystal-clear belly and said, "Mom, I’m hungry!"

Although a cultivator in the Refining God Returning Void Realm doesn’t need to rely on food to absorb energy, Li Shan was still a child and inevitably craved for food.

Guang Chengzi, trembling nervously at the side, saw an opportunity to obtain Li Qingming’s forgiveness. He stepped forward, a radiance flickering in his hand, producing four or five fragrant Spirit Fruits and extending them to Li Shan, saying, "Come, Li Shan, eat!"
